From the moment you boot up Rubber Hose Rampage, it’s painfully clear that this game is more of a cautionary tale than entertainment. What promises to be a throwback to classic 1920s rubber-hose animation instead plays like an unfinished prototype that should never have left the drawing board. Despite its homage to an iconic art style, the execution is clumsy and underwhelming — no amount of nostalgic visuals can hide the deep flaws beneath. The controls are sluggish and imprecise, making every jump and dodge feel like a desperate roll of the dice rather than a test of skill. Boss battles, meant to be the highlight, quickly devolve into repetitive endurance tests with unfair attack patterns and little variation, leaving players frustrated rather than thrilled. the game fails to capture the fluid charm of true rubber-hose animation. Instead, characters and backgrounds feel flat and uninspired, lacking the polish and personality that define the style it tries and fails to emulate. The story, a bizarre mash-up of AI apocalypse and retro cartoon mice time-traveling back to defeat a riverboat captain, reads like random plot generator output and adds nothing to the experience. , Rubber Hose Rampage is a muddled mishmash: poor mechanics, uninspired design, and a narrative that barely makes sense. It’s hard to justify its existence, even as a low-priced indie title. At this point, the only thing more painful than playing this game is watching someone else try.

Rubber Hose Rampage es tan desastroso que ni los peores bugs de un juego indie — controles torpes, animaciones horribles, bosses injustos — lograrían arruinar algo con más estilo que esta chapuza disfrazada de homenaje. Por favor no lo jueguen

Omg, This is just horrible in every sense of the word. Horrible controls, emetic graphics, this is the full definition of ****. A friend of mine gave it to me on Steam and it was horrifying.
