This is as lazy a use of a license as we've seen recently and this is from the company that made the Smurfs 2 game. [Feb 2014, p.91]

A disappointment. [Issue#143, p.119]
Whilst the game certainly has some pitfalls and it would have been nice to see more of the Regular Show characters and personality injected, the varying styles of gameplay are entertaining and the inventive concept has to be admired.

This game was really deceiving, it seemed like a well done platformer, and I love the simplicity it has in it's art, but the gameplay is just infuriating.Every single enemy has a messed up hitbox, which means you're gonna be dying a lot in this game. Levels are repetitive and the boss fights are bland, and speaking about bosses, the same hitbox issue is present in all 4 of them, and having to jump on them most of the time to beat them, it's really dissapointing dying unfairly just because you jump where the boss sprite ends, but not where the hitbox is. The controls are alright, and both Mordecai's spaceship and Rigby's top down view are way too hard to use thanks to it's aiming problems, the spaceship can't go backwards while shooting, so you gotta choose between running from the enemies or risking it all to shoot them, and Rigby kinda has the same problem but in all 4 directions, thankfully this one does have a solution, holding Y makes you shoot always in the same direction no matter what direction you are moving. Also the game has 2 "cutscenes" which look like Powerpoints and the dialogues have no voice acting, which would've been a great way to use the Regular Show's license, it's just recording 2 damn lines of script. The soundtrack is... interesting, in both good and bad ways. I love the 8-Bit music they chose but having the same 3/4 tracks in all the levels, and knowing how often you die in this game, you're gonna be having nightmares with the OST, but the press start screen song is my favorite one by far, and honestly, the music itself isn't the problem, the variety is. The game released in 2013 it can't be that hard to make 8-Bit songs in 2013, and the storage of the 3DS isn't the problem, cause the game in its state it's already pretty light, so 4 or 5 songs more can hurt that much the console.I started playing really interested in the game and I don't even want to keep trying to beat the final boss, cause watching 2 diapositives at the end of the game isn't worth my time honestly.

Game is decent with a call back to the brutal 8 bit days of 1 hit. Jumping can be loose at times but, I feel it adds a little more of a challenge. Overall a B doesn't deserve all the negative reviews.

Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land feels a lot like one of my favorite DSi platformers no one played -- Pro Jumper: Guilty Gear Tangent. It pretty much knows what it is, and even if it doesn't offer up anything new for those who normally loathe platform games, it'll still placate fans of the genre. So while it feels a bit phoned in at times, fans of old-school gaming will no doubt get an afternoon of enjoyment out of it.

Old school platforming action that's not for the challenge-adverse.

Aside from a few references hidden here and there, Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land won’t really do much for you if you’re a fan of the show. The game itself can actually be a lot of fun despite all of its problems.

Not a good start for Mordecai and Rigby's first video game.

Whether or not you believe WayForward is an indie saviour for the Nintendo 3DS, there's no denying that Regular Show is the studio's worst release.

8-Bit Land fails to capture any of the greatness that is Regular Show. The concept has merit, but the execution makes this game entirely skippable.

Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land consider it a good game, I think WayForward has made a good job with the game, reminding those past games like Super Mario or shooter games.

Regular Show is a good game, although not great. A bit on the short side with only 20 levels total, and the difficulty leans toward the hard scale with no other difficulty levels. Fans of older platforming games will enjoy its fun style and visuals.

Like last year's Adventure Time game Regular Show has no voice acting. Except for being a liscensed game this feels like a generic game that should be a bargain price.
