SCORE: Weak 8,0/10 Only played the first one, it was a lot of fun, exploring the area with your pikmin, strategies to find out how to get the next part, fighting enemies, seeing the environment filled with insects, the time pressure, the music was also very great, the graphics and environment are beautifuly designed, the enemies are varied and creative, **** fun lasted until the 20th part.....thats when i noticed "oh you cant skip the hardest parts, there wont be another new area to explore, you have to get the last **** parts in the same four areas"......then the problems start, the time pressure during the last days, the tight spots and enemy positions while youre trying to get the last parts, your pikmin with a negative iq who run into sleeping enemies or into the water. then you have to restart days because you made a critical mistake. dont get this wrong, the strategic planning of your routes, the planning of which parts you get today or which enemies you defeat today was fun UNTIl the last 10-5 **** recommendation is get the fun parts until part 20....then move on to the next game. thats where the game starts to become stressful. i understand why i stopped playing this game on wii when i was a kid. its too hard, on my first playthrough as an adult i could get all 30 parts in my first run on the last 30th day. would i recommend doing it again? no way. but playing the game again until the 20 parts? absolutely. and dont buy this game for kids, too hard.

Pikmin feels like the gaming equivalent of babysitting… except the babies can walk straight into danger, set themselves on fire, drown, and somehow make you feel guilty about it. The core idea—commanding tiny plant creatures—is creative, sure, but the execution can feel more like micromanagement hell than a satisfying strategy **** spend half your time not exploring, not strategizing, but cleaning up after your own army’s bad decisions. You look away for two seconds and suddenly a whole squad has decided lava is a personality trait. It’s less “I am a brilliant commander” and more “why are you like this?”And then there’s Captain Olimar, who crash-lands on a planet and immediately decides the best survival strategy is outsourcing everything to tiny creatures with the survival instincts of a potato. Respectfully… sir, what is the plan here? The time limit system adds pressure, but not always the good kind. Instead of pushing you to play smarter, it often just stresses you out while you juggle tasks that feel unnecessarily tedious. You’re not always making clever decisions—you’re just trying not to lose progress because your Pikmin collectively forgot how basic existence works. That said—and yeah, here’s the twist—it’s weirdly compelling. There’s something addictive about optimizing your routes, learning from your chaos, and slowly turning that disaster squad into something efficient. It’s frustrating, but it hooks you in that “one more day” kind of **** no, it’s not some flawless masterpiece. It’s messy, stressful, and occasionally makes you question your life choices. But beneath all that? There’s a genuinely unique game trying to break out—and sometimes, that’s enough to keep you coming back.

Both Pikmin 1+2 offer a somewhat challenging experience while being a great start to the series. While Pikmin 1 is not as great as Pikmin 2 is, both games are must plays for any fan of tactics games.

pikmin 1 review: (8) I got introduced to pikmin this year with pikmin 4 and i was hooked, i ran to a gamestore and bought pikmin 1+2 and i have to admit that i was kinda disappointed, the controls are kinda awkward, still, i ended beating this game in 2 days... All the fun is here, the game is really short but that isnt detrimental to the experience, the clunky controls melted in my hands and all I was thinking about was that 30 day timer.

Pikmin 2...

I can play every pikmin game on switch! These games don't hold a candle to Pikmin 3 and 4, but are still fun, and have a level of Gamecube unfairness that keep you coming back. One is so overwhelming and difficult because of the Day/Night cycle. And 2 relaxing and fun to explore and complete. Very good, if you enjoy pikmin you should pick up this collection.

Pikmin 1 was fun, and Pikmin 2 was too. Pikmin 1 was quite enjoyable, though the 30-day limit can make it stressful. Luckily, you can always go back to previous days if you feel you aren’t making enough progress, or fail. Pikmin 2 is a huge step up, with more pikmin types, far more to explore and collect, and there’s no limit, allowing you to play at your own pace. I’d say Pikmin is a solid middle ground between a casual, relaxing experience such as Animal Crossing and an intense action experience such as Metroid. Overall, both of these are great and I enjoyed my time with them, and would recommend these to anyone interested in the franchise. I’m looking forward to what Pikmin 3 (Deluxe) and Pikmin 4 have to offer. And yes, the rhyme at the start was intentional.

A great way to experience the first 2 pikmin games. It is a shame they took out the irl brand names in this version though....

Pikmin 1 is the perfect work of art, and an idea only one of the masters could have crafted. From the moment the game started I quickly fell in love with the charming music and setting of a desolate forest planet, then quickly fell in love with the perfect gameplay loop. The level of charm this game produces is matched only by its masterful use of strategy. Management of time and resources, puzzle solving, and even tactical application beautifully go hand in hand at every step of Pikmin. I found myself smiling constantly as I lead my small army on adventures through mysterious woods and dark caverns, and the story told through Olimar’s journals even got me invested into the plot and main character. I became addicted very quickly because of all these factors, and had so much fun with this charming package that made me happy by design. There’s little more I can say about Pikmin other than it really is a perfect game. A creative fantasy adventure with unique creatures and a fun world to explore that makes you think and feel, and engages you on multiple levels. This honest joy definitely earns its title as a classic, and easily solidified itself as one of my new favorite first-party Nintendo franchises. A must play for all. Pikmin 2 deserves a lot of credit for its time. I can’t think of many games of that era with a focus on floors with changing layouts as you progress, which definitely made this sequel a great challenge meant for experienced players. Though personally I would replace the word challenge with “mean.” This is a very unkind game. Unlike its predecessor which was a survival puzzle game, Pikmin 2 is primarily a dungeon exploration experience. There is still an overworld to explore, but there are less secrets to find and more enemies to hunt you. Enemies in this game are particularly more brutal than the first entry, sometimes going after the player as opposed to the Pikmin. Occasionally the challenge was fun, but more often than not it was rage inducing. To give credit to the developers there is a lot of balance to help with the harshness. No time limit, more frequent chances to sprout more Pikmin, and so long as you do your best it doesn’t matter if you miss some treasure along the way. It was clear they didn’t want to make this game completely unforgiving, and even kept things lighthearted with the story and cheery atmosphere. Pikmin 2 may be a large departure from the original game that I certainly loved more, but this was still an experience that charmed me and I was happy to go on. I likely will never revisit this entry or go for completion, but I will remember my time with Olimar and Louie fondly. In short, the value of this package cannot be stated enough and is perfect for any newcomer to the franchise. There is never a better time to hope into Pikmin than a time where every core entry is on one system, and these wonderful games are the perfect addition to any Nintendo collection.

Both games 9/10 Pikmin 1: Great game, simple story, great gameplay, and mechanics. Pikmin 2: Basically 1 but with a different story and purpose. Enjoyed the difficulty but some of it was a yikes.

Great game. But terrible port. UI looks terrible and scretched. Even the font is a pain to look at. There's also the case of the unneeded censorship in the dialogue. Changing the product placement could be ignored, but this was unacceptable. If you're okay with these things, this game is for you.

A really good way for old and new fans to enjoy the games on Switch! They could have put in a little bit more effort with textures and such but aside from that these 2 games are solid ports.

Good- Pikmin's design philosophies and core gameplay loop are timeless; Weirdly addictive; Excellent controls; Incredibly charming. Bad- Minimal remastering efforts. Thoughts- But then again, if all you want to do is play these games and enjoy their timeless charm, you can’t go wrong here. Pikmin 1 and 2 might be two decades old, but they’re still as fun as they were back when they first released. Timeless game design, intuitive controls, oodles of charm and personality, and an addictive gameplay loop come together to make for two of the weirdest and most oddly compelling real-time strategies games you’ll ever play. And with Pikmin 4 finally approaching is long-awaited launch, this is the perfect time to jump back into the series’ past and marvel at how well it holds up.

The 2 games are PEAK. Now i will be talking abt this as the package, how this 2 ports work. They work pretty fine. The graphics in 1080n are just so good and the AI upscaling usually feels great. Still, a few specific textures can feel kinda off and others are just as in the original. "But its a port, right?" Ok, ok. Its not a downside i guess. Now... The motion controls are wierd as **** You have this weird control that only works if pressing B or A wich is so off because it constantly resets itself. The camera has been moved to the second stick and now you control both Olimar and the pointer with the main stick. It works FANTASTIC, but it would be great to have an option to change that for those who played the originals in gamecube and want the OG experience. For those who already played it it can be very confuse and annoying. Also... A little too overpiced in my opinion? Idk, 40/45 bucks would have been better. Not a big deal tho, 50 bucks is not the end of the world but... at least 45 bucks nintendo. Overall, nice port! Runs perfectly and even has some enchancements and slight changes to improve the experiencie, wich is pretty cool!

Is this bundle overpriced? Yes. When you compare it to what the rest of the industry is doing, it is ridiculous. However! This is a step forward for Nintendo. You can pay as "little" as $30 if you just want to buy Pikmin 1, and start the series from the beginning with a few nice tweaks. Higher resolution (not higher frame rate, though), optional motion controls, and some gameplay and control munutiae have been improved, which seem minor but end up making the games much more enjoyable, particularly the original. Pikmin 1 earns its value by being endlessly replayable, as an experienced player can complete it in an afternoon, and Pikmin 2 simply has a wealth of content. If you are even slightly interested in the series, there has never been a better time to try it out. (If you need more convincing about the games themselves, please look elsewhere lol, this is just about the HD bundle)

Overall just an absolute nostalgic trip down memory lane, now with many more perks! Everything i once saw 20 years ago on my small little TV is now in HD and better than ever! Most of the silly bugs have been patched, including the notorious crush glitch! I'd suggest this to anyone curious to try out the pikmin series! 10/10

Just wonderful, getting the chance to play this and seeing it age relatively well. Somehow knowing that you are against time, and you have to find the balance between farming pikmins and getting the pieces is great. It is a very simple gameplay...Some camera issues, and the movement of the pikmins is a bit clumsy, especially pikmin 1. But I recommend it to everyone who wants a different experience, far from mobas and shooters. Once you start you know that you have to place the pieces, the tutorial is simple and direct (as it should be). Then, in the following levels you learn by force that your pikmins are fragile and you must be careful, that the day is about to end, and your losses are 60% of your pikmin population is not a good sign. I could criticize the price, but a part of me has understood that when you buy games that are too low in price, they simply accumulate digital dust and will not be played. In addition, it is compensated in some way to carry your portable pikmin
