The Pikmin series is top notch and these HD ports are a great reminder of that for anyone who has played them before, and a wonderful primer to the series for anyone that hasn't. It's startling how well a lot of the artistic decisions that were made in the GameCube era still translate to now, like a soundtrack that is absolutely bang on, and character designs and animations that are infinitely charming. Whether or not the time limit in Pikmin or, conversely, the unlimited time, gauntlet-like puzzle caves and score chasing from Pikmin 2 is the preferred way to go, they're both excellent titles that play just as well now as they ever did. Plus Nintendo has included the New Play Control options for both titles, which updated them with pointer control on the Wii, as an added bonus.

It’s been a pleasant trip down memory lane with both Pikmin 1 and 2, and if you’ve never had a chance to experience either game, I’d say they are both highly recommended and stand the test of time quite well. Neither game is particularly long, and while 2 can be challenging at times, both are pretty friendly to new players and work as a solid primer for the upcoming release of Pikmin 4. Definitely check them out when you get a chance, you won’t be disappointed.

Pikmin 1+2 is a pleasant return to the past in 2023 necessary to further extend the lore around one of the most curious and interesting Nintendo franchises of recent years. Strong and powerful from a playful point of view, it is also satisfying from a technical point of view. Must have absolutely.

Both Pikmin and Pikmin 2 are two classic games that every strategy games fan should experience. With their high definition graphics and quality of life enhancements, these are the best versions of both titles to date.

Pikmin 1+2 are bare bones remasters of the first tow Pikmin games, but they are pretty good new versions in HD. We've loved to see some extras, but they are great games none the less.

Pikmin 1+2 are still wonderful games, and although it's a fairly pricey collection having the games on the Switch is lovely.

The Switch release of Pikmin 1+2 doesn't mark enough of an improvement on prior versions of the games to be a definitive upgrade, but copies of the first two titles on both GameCube and Wii have skyrocketed in value over the years. For those who aren't double-dipping, nothing about the HD renditions should prove a major turn-off as a way to play the games for a comparatively reasonable price. Although the lack of any new content or major overhauls prevents Pikmin 1+2 from standing out on its own, a competent package of two masterpieces still proves to be a worthy release.

Pikmin 1 and 2's Switch ports might not be much of an upgrade in a technical sense, but the games themselves have stood the test of time wonderfully well, thanks to their timeless game design, addictive loop, intuitive controls, and healthy dose of charm.

We liked Pikmin 1+2 a lot. Especially the improved visuals and the solid port to the Nintendo Switch are positive points. However, those who expect any new content or other improvements besides better graphics might be disappointed.

Pikmin 1 and 2 are still excellent RTS, ideal for fans of the genre and newcomers alike. The Nintendo Switch adaptation does not add much and graphically more could have been done, but it is the perfect appetizer in anticipation for Pikmin 4.
