OPUS: Prism Peak is a narrative adventure that will have you glued to the screen. With Shinkai-esque aesthetics, a meaningful use of photography and relatable characters, you’ll not want to leave the Dusklands.

OPUS Prism Peak feels at times a lot less like a game and more like a work of art. That is if you can handle the joy, the loss, the pain, or in other words, life. It is cathartic, it is real, it is beautiful, and it is sad.

If I were to describe OPUS: Prism Peak in one word, it would be “profound”. The combination of aesthetics, gameplay and narrative feels like you have been sent into a Studio Ghibli or Makoto Shinkai movie, but one that lasts for a dozen hours and closely follows your own choices. The game explores very real and mundane challenges that every adult likely came across in their life, but does so through the prism of a fantastical, vivid world, full of magic and wonder even in the darker parts.

OPUS: Prism Peak is an outstanding adventure. Like its spiritual predecessor, OPUS: Echo of Starsong, it pairs a thought-provoking, emotional story with polished gameplay. At times haunting yet hopeful, it reflects life and reminds us how we grow from experience. I teared up often—sometimes from sadness, and sometimes from the bittersweet yearning to reach for something more, no matter the winding paths we take. The open-ended resolution of Eugene’s journey is moving and lingers with me. Developers SIGONO has once again created an artistic video game masterpiece with OPUS: Prism Peak.

OPUS: Prism Peak is a thoughtful and emotionally grounded narrative adventure that uses photography as both a gameplay mechanic and thematic lens, following a disillusioned adult protagonist through a surreal journey of memory, regret, and connection; its slow pacing and layered storytelling reward players who take time to explore, even if some design choices create friction in progression clarity and urgency.

Opus: Prism Peak is SIGONO’s largest project yet, and the game delivers heavily on what it sets out to accomplish. Whether the game’s narrative resonates with you personally or not, it has a lot to offer in and out of the gaming space. The title’s narrative is at the forefront, supported strongly by its art style, gameplay mechanics, and everything in between. Prism Peak is an easy recommendation for anyone with an interest in narrative-focused games and will leave a lasting impression on me. Since beating the game, I’ve already gone back to fill out the rest of my notebook and collect the other endings.

OPUS: Prism Peak is a captivating narrative adventure that explores the nature of memories and the quest to find a new purpose after the hardships life throws at us. Sigono’s work is inspiring, and possesses such power that it can be compared to some of the finest anime of the last twenty years. Prism Peak is recommended not only to fans of visual novels, but even those who usually play video games may find the plot intriguing.

OPUS: Prism Peak is a cozy and addictive adventure that creatively uses photography to tell the story of Eugene and Ren. The implementation of its mechanics to guide players through environments and interpret events is impeccable, further elevated by stunning landscape design. Unfortunately, the lack of Portuguese localization creates a significant barrier for those without a strong command of the language. However, for those who can overcome this, it is a highly recommended and moving narrative experience.

As far as it goes as a photography game, OPUS: Prism Peak is probably one of the best I've played. In fact, this game is probably up there as one of my favorites so far in 2026. I had a great time playing OPUS: Prism Peak. Even though I missed some information and couldn't get 100% completion in my first playthrough, this didn't really matter as I had fun playing anyway. The level of detail that's gone into making this game is just impressive. I can definitely see myself playing this title again sometime soon in the future, so I can grab those photos and field notes that I missed or got wrong. I'm surprised actually that OPUS: Prism Peak hasn't received more attention, as this is definitely one to consider adding to your collection.
