One Step From Eden
One Step From Eden is a very fast card roguelike game with a great and memorable bosses, the main problem of which is a very slow progress in gaining abilities and new variations of characters.
The combination between deck-building and speedy real-time action make One Step From Eden a revolutionary title. While difficult and lacking in story, it’s definitely a game anyone should try.
One Step From Eden is a fantastic rogue-like deck-building game that is a few small tweaks away from perfection.

I love this game it gave me the excitement of playing Battle Network again and created a system of just wanting to play one more game until I was stuck in a loop trying to improve all of my skills. I cannot stress enough this game is a triumph that needs experienced.

This game is obviously very similar to megaman battle network, and I think it does a good job of taking that concept to another level and adding a lot of interesting and fun mechanics. Overall I feel that the progression could've been better gated to avoid overwhelming the player, and I personally felt that there were too many things to keep track of with some cards, but the combat was overall pretty fun and the deck building aspect was done quite well.

One Step From Eden takes my memories of the Battle Network games and turns them into a fully-fledged and incredibly stylish roguelike. It is quite simply the best thing I’ve played all year. It might even be one of the best roguelikes around at the moment, and there’s definitely a lot of competition there. I can’t say enough good things about this nigh-perfect game, but I can say that you should stop whatever you’re doing and go and buy it. You’ll not be disappointed.

I love it, the gameplay is addictive and the music makes you fall in love. Reminds me of when I was a kid playing MegaMan on the DS. Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood.

The game succeeds despite its fierce challenge because each system is incredibly well-designed and compliments the mechanical learning curve quite readily, even if that curve’s breadth can feel demoralizing in its darkest hours.

One Step From Eden could be my go-to wind down roguelike at the end of the night. The progression isn't quite as rewarding as I would like, but experimenting with spells and trying out new things isn't going to get old anytime soon. Even if you aren't a Battle Network fan, give One Step From Eden a try. You've got nothing to lose except dozens of hours of your life.

One Step From Eden provides a unique, fast-paced experience. The combat and deck-building are fun, but it does a poor job explaining game mechanics, and given the depth of the game's card system that makes it a little bit too difficult.

With how disappointed I am in the final product, it’s still hard to call One Step From Eden a bad game. The boss fights are memorable, it has an appropriately fast-paced soundtrack, and for brief moments it can feel like a complete, cohesive experience. However, the roguelite elements are just not implemented well enough to make each run feel fresh, and actively work against the decent core battle system.

Firstly me and my brother loved playing megaman battle network growing up. This game was marketed as slay the spire and battle network. I haven't played slay the spire but I loved deck building games. I thought I would love this game because of these things but it couldn't have been more wrong. The tutorial is lacking greatly. The main gameplay is way too chaotic in battle network as soon as the main meter filled up the player had an opportunity to think about what to do next, this game expects you to know what a particular icon is going to do while not getting hit and assessing what cards you have upcoming. If you liked megaman battle network I would definitely advise you to stay away from this game as it has an uncanny valley effect, it feels like it should play like battle network but is lacking in the things that made battle network easy to pick up but hard to master.
