Omori is an outstanding RPG. The writing is top tier, you can always feel a certain connection with the characters and the boss fight mechanics are fun, though it can be a bit boring sometimes.

this game has a great story and is an incredible representation of trauma/guilt, while having a deep story and environments that represent the game beautifully

This is the type of game that sticks with you for weeks after you finish it because you connected to the characters and story to an insane degree. Even so apart from the emotional impact and stuff this game also has gorgeous art, great music and fun gameplay as well as a ton of cool easter eggs and side quests you could notice on a second play through. Honestly I wouldn't change anything about it because it's a masterclass in unfolding the story in a way that keeps you invested while also having you constantly thinking about unanswered questions.

Great game, with charming visuals, and a story that goes surprisingly deep. The RGP gameplay is fun as well, but it is clear that the game's main focus is the deeper story.

Omori is a game that has followed me throughout my life. It all began in 2019, as I was scrolling YouTube and came across the release date trailer of the game. Seeing the vibrant visuals, the beautiful art, and the psychological darkness in the trailer, my interest was piqued, and I, all the way to the release date, tried to convince my mom to buy it for me when it launched. Fast forward to 2020, it’s Christmas, and I’m at my aunt and uncles house. As I set down my laptop, I notice a new game in my library: Omori. I jumped for joy as I stared at my mom with the biggest smile on my face, as I launched the game, eager to see the mystery that would await me. Many will say that this game is mentally damaging for depressed individuals. However, for me, it was the opposite. I broke out of my depression because of this game while sinking hours into it. It made me happy, without a single frown on my face, with practical highlights in my eyes. In 2022, Omori launched on console for its second anniversary. Seeing it didn’t have merch, I printed out a bunch of pictures of the box art, including the physical artwork. And after I pleaded for my mom to pre order the game for console after hearing it had brand new content (I was so unbelievably hyped about that), I waited, and waited, and waited, until so many delays happened that I cancelled the pre order, thinking it would never come. And then one month later, the console version launched. I cried a whole river after that. Then, in December of 2022, I got back from my grandparents, and checked my PlayStation to see that omori was downloading, and my mom bought the game with her own money digitally for Christmas. I recorded playthroughs, I explored the new content, I even researched all the Black Space Boss Rush content to see if it had any lore. In short, Omori is a game that is the heart of my late childhood. The soul of my entire gaming career. The beginning of all of my obsessions following. This game didn’t make me depressed. It made me break out of depression. And that, is why this game was so good. For many others, this game will feel like a punch in the gut, but for me? The warmth of the childhood nostalgia is enough for me to completely forget it’s a horror game at all. And after all these years, I’m still playing it. Play this game. It will change your life: for better or for worse. It all depends on how well you can handle it.

Lo más destacable de Omori es su historia. Es profunda, incómoda y muy emocional. A medida que avanzas, el juego pasa de ser algo aparentemente inocente a algo bastante perturbador, jugando constantemente con la mente del jugador. Esa dualidad entre el mundo colorido y la realidad oscura está muy bien lograda. Sin embargo, Omori no es para todo el mundo. Me acabo de pasar el juego. El juego más triste que he jugado, pero a la vez el más bonito. Uno de mis favoritos. Una obra maestra. La recomiendo al 100%, con una historia triste y conmovedora, buenos bosses, buen desarrollo de personajes y, sobre todo, excelente música. Uno de mis juegos favoritos. Best $22.79 I've ever spent, best game I've ever played, and likely the best I ever will play...

Omori has an interesting game design, combining RPG element and psychological horror. The main value of this game are the story (obviously) and the art style (i love it, personally). However, I find it is a bit boring and repetitive overtime, (probably I'm just not a huge RPG fan) , and the only thing that keep me for playing is the story. The story is MASTERPIECE and a bit disturbing and sad. Definitely recommend

This game features the best story I have ever seen. It is filled with little foreshadowings and metaphors everywhere I looked. Each replay revealed something new I haven't noticed before. I have never been so emotionally invested in anything before. It gave me a whole new perspective on life. I would recommend this game to everyone, but it does cover some heavy topics that might not be suitable for younger audiences. As for gameplay, it's a typical rpg where you roam the world and occasionally enter a battle. What's unique is the emotion system. It works something like rock paper scissors but with buffs and debuffs. It is very interesting and utilized in many different ways. Hovewer, the game does get a bit grindy sometimes, as it throws a large amount of enemies to fight, which can get a bit repetitive. The biggest (yet small) flaw I found is the fact how easy it is to get on a different route designed for second-time players (harder bosses, most of the story skipped) by accident. Overall, it remains my favorite game of all time.

The story is great. Though the gameplay is sometimes lackluster, I found it pretty fun most of the time. Going for 100% is a chore though, some of these achievements are just sadistic

An amazing game for someone looking for story! This game is not for everyone, some might call it scary or disgusting, but it's story is so beyond heart touching. If you are struggling with mental health in any way or want something that will change your life, play Omori. "Everything is going to be okay..."

Omori, for a RPG made by a small dev team and being OMOCATS first game. Is probably one of the greatest if not the greatest of all time in the RPG aspect. Now the reason? The story, Besides the random negative reviews that sound like they were asleep while playing the game And writing the reviews. The games gameplay is fine, not anything groundbreaking but it is enjoyable. But the story, music and art (in cutscenes) is immaculate. It is the most deep game I have ever played, and I am confident that I will never forget this story, now I won't spoil anything because this is a game genuinely needed to be played blind. But if my word doesn't mean anything, you can search up OMORI on YouTube and you can see so many different YouTubers, big and small praising the game in thumbnails and stuff. It makes sense too. The game has around 20 hours of gameplay and six years of real life development to flesh out everything from the story to the music and hand drawn and pixel art. Now I get it, OMORI isn't for everyone, the game is rated M for a reason and it is not because of swearing, sex or violence (No Humphrey doesn't count), it genuinely gets that deep. And in MY summary? If you like RPG games OR like games or media with a good story, OMORI will GENUINELY be the closest you get to a MUST-PLAY (also it's worth the 20 dollars btw, crazy how pokemon legends ZA is 70 yet absolute dog **** compared to OMORI OR literally ANY other indie game.) And key note, Omori in all is a serious game, so if you can't take it seriously, then you most likely won't enjoy it to the degree that everyone else playing the game did. Omori at its core is a STORY game. So I don't actually advise playing it if you don't like a good story, but if you do it's a near must play.

You’ll spend more time mashing attack than actually thinking. Compared to other indie RPGs with tactical nuance, Omori feels like a **** characters are painfully flat. Sunny, Basil, Aubrey—none of them evolve meaningfully beyond their archetypes. They exist to serve the plot’s emotional beats, not to feel like real people. Dialogue is often stilted, and the attempts at humor land with the grace of a brick. It’s the kind of writing that might resonate with someone deep in a Tumblr echo chamber, but outside of that bubble, it’s hard to take **** let’s talk about the reviews. The praise surrounding Omori is almost cult-like, centered almost exclusively on its “sad story.” But that’s the bait. The game leans heavily on trauma and tragedy to mask its mechanical shortcomings. It’s emotional manipulation dressed up as profundity. Critics and fans alike seem so enamored with the ending’s gut punch that they ignore the slog it takes to get there.

Second to Undertale naturally, one of the best RPGs ever released. The Characters are lovable, graphics are charming, and story is incredible. While the combat is lackluster and feels mainly like a way to give breaks between the story, the other elements make up for it tenfold

I would like to give this game a 10 but the fact that sometimes the game doesn’t lead you to your exact destination is a little bit annoying. However, the game masters everything else. The story was intriguing and deep. The battle themes were incredibly fascinating and fit well with the game’s atmosphere. In short, It was one of the greatest indie games of all time.

This game is near-perfection; it has a rich and deep atmosphere, charismatic characters with complex personalities to the point that some may ask if they're based on real people or not, an charming artstyle that seems it came from a kid's drawing (in a good way of course), magnificent soundtrack that some may compare to undertale (although i think undertale has a better soundtrack than omori, even though omori's soundtrack is still great) and a dynamic and intriguing story. The only issue with the game is that, if you're too sensitive, please don't play this game as he contains many delicated stuff

One of the best written games I've encountered in decades that tells you in the first hour, what awaits you. With handdrawn animations and an amazing OST in the same league as Undertales.

I must say, it is pretty boring. Mostly just walking around and it isnt quite like many people say. You most likely wont cry to this game and i dont even wanna think of trying to replay it. Play it once, complete all the endings and never touch it again.

all i want to say is that this game changed my life, in a good way, it made me feel better when i was down, the music, the storytelling, all, is just beautiful, of course not anyone would enjoy it, but it's really a great game, and finally, thank you Omori for what you did for me

Sure it makes sense thematically and it's clever in the way that abilities are used to give insight in the characters, but in practice it ends up being tedious. I still had some challenging and fun fights though!

Feelings! If feelings and heartache is what you look for, Omori is the game to play. Amazingly well done, many layers of meaning and extra stuff to find. The gameplay is nice enough: turnbased like. Altough, evidently, the battle system is not the core aspect of the game.. it is preety good, you have reasons to change your buils, select which skills to equip and make up your strategy.. it is not meant to be challenging, but is not naive either! I like it for this. The world is really nice and the design s AMAZING..only downside, and that is a great downside.. is that the main quests are really dispersive and often you wish that there were more main quests but shorter (because you end up losing interest). But that is the only negative aspect of the game. That being said, play the game to feel it not to rush it, experience it and it will talk to you

OMORI plays with your emotions. If you want to be broken, you have to play it, but if you want a game where you'll appreciate the gameplay, it's certainly not for you. OMORI follows a Hikkakomori teenager who is broken by the separation of his friend group, but it's deeper than this.. I really liked OMORI, it made me cry a lot, as a non sensitive guy, honestly...

This is one of those games that come about only every 5-10 years. The story and the way it's told is nothing short of amazing, with the standard-gameplay being used as a great tool to enhance the writing. If the game makes you interested/curious within the first hour, you will love the rest. (also, the entire music is amazing and every scene has a fitting track)

C'est un RPG tour par tour classique qui a pour touche d'originalité un système d'émotions qui n'apportent pas que des avantages. Je ne peux vous décrire l'expérience qu'est jouer à Omori, mais je ne peux que vous recommander d'aller y jouer de ce pas. Cependant, la version PC manque des éléments ajoutés dans les versions consoles, donc si vous avez la possibilité prenez le sur une console de votre choix.

One of the absolute greatest video game stories ever written. Emotional, adorable, thrilling, and bittersweet.

This is one of my favorite games of all time, as it's story is one of the most heartbreaking and yet hopeful stories I've had the pleasure of experiencing. It has excellent characters that you fall in love with, a unique and comfortable art style, and my favorite soundtrack in gaming, capable of bringing tears to your eyes. The entire story could've been very generic if the concept started and ended with: "let's make yet another game about mental illness!" But the game doesn't just show you generic mental illness things and then say that "it's because the character is depressed!" No, it actually takes its time to show the very interesting and sad situation the character is going through and why. So, why not a perfect score? Well unfortunately, the games runtime is slowed down significantly by very generic and quickly boring combat mechanics, similar to a game like Spec-Ops: The Line. The bosses were really the only combat I genuinely enjoyed, mostly because of the great soundtracks and figuring out how to beat the bosses. But on repeat playthroughs, even the bosses feel boring. I still fully recommend playing this beautifully crafted game, it has a story that genuinely sticks with you, and overall is an amazing experience, provided you can slog through the weaker parts of the game.

Just an absolutely beautifully told story - I unfortunately got spoiled on the ending pretty early on, but despite that I was still blown away by how much of an impact this story had on me.

Omori is an experience, which is unique and maybe on of the best in all gaming. Story, atmosphere and characters are the main strength of this hard-hitting and depressing RPG. A beautiful Masterpiece, which I definetely consider as one of my favorite games of all time.

While not exactly clear in its vision, Omocat did an excellent job; the main character Sunny slowly unveiling the darkness of his trauma of his older sister dying is truly brilliant. The way he discovers his sister dying is one of the most well-handled and unique ways as you pick up bits of bits of what White Space gives you. The characters are full of light in White space and in the overworld, which is fruitful and exciting. Using RPG maker to polish/refine the game, Omocat remarkably nailed their vision and cleverly portrayed trauma. Controversially, this did take a little over 6 years to release, and fans of this Indie project were not happy since the release was delayed constantly for years. While this game might not be favorable to any non-RPG fans the level-up system; the multiple endings and what fans call the: 'Good Ending' Omocat have shone and the theme of trauma being depicted is a masterpiece. It's a must-play game for anyone at any time of their life that can handle suicidal, depressional, and emotional stress.
