Don’t bother with Nippon Marathon if you don’t a have company to play the game with or if saying “keep it real, keep it Nippon” makes you irritated. Everyone else, though, forget cheap production values and throw yourself broad-mindedly into the craziness of Nippon Marathon!

Such a fun game with cool character design and an amazing announcer and a story mode for each main character.

The critic reviews on this one are, for the most part DUMB and DEAF and possibly BLIND. I recently picked this up during a sale and it's great fun even as a single player game. The levels are inventive, the courses are stocked with wild obstacles from crazy Shiba dogs to exploding sake barrels. There's multiple branching paths and the checkpoints keep anyone from being knocked out of the race for good. The mini games which interrupt the races are good too my favorite being when Zedy Jones asks the players to respond quickly and in competition with each other on how to build a snowman. Then there's the robust and ludicrous story mode which is chock full o' conspiracies, weirdness and gags too. I played through as Snuguru, the dog man who wants to open a dating agency and despite a few times when I screamed malarkey at the top of my lungs, I had no trouble running races, and leveraging the items and shortcuts for advantages. If you have friends to play with its even better and will be a favorite at parties. BUY IT! THANK ME LATER!!

With its Takeshi's Castle style, Nippon Marathon will delight those who enjoy the peculiar and ridiculously funny style of these contests, although neither technically nor playable is anything special.

You should buy Nippon Marathon only if you are looking for something to play during an evening with your friends, and then forget about it.

Nippon Marathon has the potential to be a fun party game, but its technical and design shortcomings prevent it from being a race worth running.

Nippon Marathon gets repetitive and boring very soon, is not fun, and is not executed correctly, and if not for its low price, no one would have paid any attention to it.

Nippon Marathon is a curious multiplayer game that unfortunately falls prey to its own over the top nature. Some might enjoy the off-piste humour and Japanese influences, but it sadly limits the game's appeal, and at the end of the day, the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. The frantic gameplay feels too clumsy and disjointed to remain fun for very long. The janky nature of the game is part of the joke, but the joke isn't particularly funny in this case, and others have told it much better than this.

Brilliant game, so much fun with a group of friends!
Kinda wish there were more races and minigames, but what's there is great fun! Especially for the low asking price!

Amazing game!!! What more can you ask for its cheap, massively entertaining and utterly bonkers to boot. we spent hours and hours playing with mates and a few beers, many many laughs were had. Only criticism would be a little more content needed...

Really amusing to play with friends, but it quickly becomes repetitive and boring.
