Mika and the Witch’s Mountain really does do a good job of giving us a Kiki’s Delivery Service sort of game, and it’s often quite relaxing too! Mika’s a fun protagonist, and the island is this vibrant setting filled with big personalities and life. Sometimes the broomstick-riding can feel a bit fiddly, but it’s genuinely a delightful simulation about being a courier witch.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is a cute and captivating game, though it could do with a little refining. Fly your days away delivering packages, boxes, and bags while fixing up your broom, and get back to your witch training.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain wears its inspiration on its sleeve, and it is so dedicated to its core gameplay mechanic that it can wear a little thin before the game is up. It also suffers from some performance issues on the Switch. With all that said, I can’t say I didn’t have some fun zipping around on my broom, delivering packages to a bunch of quirky characters. This is one of those games where if you think the concept sounds good, you’ll probably like what you get well enough.

Mika and the Witch's Mountain is a fun escape into the life of a bubbly little girl who wants to become a witch but who makes new friends and has unexpected adventures along the way. It may be short but it's certainly worth playing if it's your kind of game.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain has a good enough base, but not enough magic to keep it afloat.

When everything comes together, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is definitely far from the worst witch – the premise is pleasant, the visuals and art are cute, and short runtime means there’s no fat that needs trimming. But it’s almost completely unmemorable at every turn. Delivering parcels as a witch should be fun, but lacklustre characters and too much back-and-forth make this delivery service simply adequate.
