There is something charming in this clungy 3d graphics. The richness of this game's single player content hasn't been matched for generstions (maybe open world in newest netry makes mk world as rich as mk DS) and drifting has never been as fun and natural as it is here.

Simple as that, yoshis island is for me goated 2d platformer. Its charming artstyle, creative levels which are not typically liniar all the time and boses which unlike to other mario games are very creative here and fun to beat

Its understandable if someone avoided this game cause of this childish aesthetics. But yoshis story remains as great comfort game, typically for nintendo softwares everyone can play it no matter of experience but somehow its hard to master (melon challenge) which connected with replayable architecture of gameplay and scoring system can give you almost arcade experience of mastering hiscores. Conclusing, this game has a lot of value aimed for nonchild nintendo fans under its very childish artstyle
