Magical Blush

Magical Blush is a creative top-down metroidvania that shines through its flexible exploration, inventive traversal upgrades, and customizable spell system. Its interconnected progression and strong environmental design make uncovering new paths consistently rewarding, while energetic combat encounters encourage experimentation with different elemental loadouts. Some awkward traversal mechanics, uneven boss design, and a story that struggles to leave a lasting impression keep it from reaching its full potential, but its strongest ideas make for an enjoyable and promising adventure.

Magical Blush casts a charming spell by combining Zelda-style exploration with metroidvania progression and deep elemental combat. Repetitive enemy waves and uneven difficulty occasionally smudge the experience, but its vibrant world and flowing-haired heroine do their best to enchant.

Magical Blush has a great pixel-look and fun variety of spells to use, but with no good method to travel between the areas without dealing with deadly traps, it gets frustrating.
