The story is enjoyable, and it’s great to see Kiryu in action one last time; the flashbacks and familiar characters are also nice touches. It’s also fun that the series tries something new by heading to Hawaii instead of sticking solely to Japan. However, the turn-based gameplay is starting to get a bit tedious; I prefer the combat system found in *Judgment* and *The Man Who Erased His Name*. I hope they make adjustments there. The graphics need an update, too; they really ought to use a new engine for future titles. This game was solid, but for the next one, they need to take a step forward to make the experience feel more modern and fresh.

This has to be one of the most fun, irreverent, and enlightening games of all time. Love you Ichiban Kasuga.

Going to Hawaii was a great decision and they did a great job crafting the open world. The story is good but could do with some editing. There are far too many coincidences for plot convenience. The gameplay is enjoyable up until about 2/3rds of the way through when it becomes too easy and monotonous with a lot of same-y enemy spam.

At the 50-hour mark, somewhere in Kamurocho, a homeless-nurse told the Dragon of Dojima of his love for piping hot takoyaki. He burns his mouth while the head of the local crime syndicate looks on. Absurd. Bonkers and heartfelt from start to finish. And I'll be damned if it didn't have me smiling from ear to ear each time I picked it up.

Interruption after interruption. A dungeon that’s required to use to reach a certain level because game doesn’t have good balancing. Ichibans story ends up getting uninteresting. Still a fun game but definitely not their best

SPOILERS.
THE ONLY HONEST REVIEW ON THIS GAME. DONT LISTEN TO THE REST THEY DONT HAVE A CLUE.
As a huge fan of this franchise this was the ONLY one that let me down this much.
Huge downgrade from Yakuza 7/LAD in gameplay, story, difficulty and characters.
Ichiban is just made to look like an idiot at the last scene of the game, ruining his obvious potential relationship with Saeko.
Bryce and the boring cult is the worst main antagonist in the series and the party characters (one which includes a V tuber just to make it worse) are really bad.
And the lack of difficulty spike made the battles pointless as it was never a problem to squash enemies and bosses.
Really bad levelling pacing. How this is a sequel to the goated 7 is something I'll never understand I'm not even gonna go into the stupid Kiryu got cancer angle either, what a waste of everyone's time. If this was the last Ichiban game then I wouldn't be suprised, was just boring and easy.

I really wanted to love this game since I'm a big Yakuza fan, but despite my best efforts to just try and enjoy it, this game continuosly wastes my time with entire 2-3 hours chapters where there's nothing really going on. The story would have been so cool if they just cut it down to just 6-7 chapters and threw away all the useless parts. Gameplay wise it's fine I guess, but I'm not particularly fond of this new rpg style for the yakuza series either, gets boring pretty quickly when you can't take a step in the city without being harrased by some random thugs (in older yakuza games it was much more bearable since you could just punch them a few times instead of having to wait your turn). Overall the game is ok but far from the golden age of yakuza imo

Absolutely do not understand the glowing reviews from everywhere. Graphics are basic af, like it was created in the early 2000s. When people say it's good graphics, it's good graphics for a YAKUZA game, not good graphics for 2026. And tons of weird conversations and moments between the characters. The dialogue window that pops up at the bottom feels like it's Pokemon all over again. Completely archaic. Japanese games sure have not evolved over the years. Cutscenes. Omg. I think i was just watching the cutscenes 80% of the time for many many hours over actually playing. Did i buy a movie or a game? If the movie was good at least it's ok, but it's cringey af in so many ways and feels like a movie I can't leave. So unnecessarily drawn out every one of them. Voiceovers are also so awkwardly American despite it being a Japanese game through & through. Script is also so bad. It seems like it can't decide between wanting to be serious or funny or lame. Conversations are so mind bogglingly lame. And what's with all the guttural sounds. The whole game's in excess of them. The developers of this game also seem to have a personal vendetta against pickup artists making them all look like gangsters and losers. Pathetic. And every few metres of walking there are gangsters or ruffians looking to fight u. Wow it becomes really **** irritating after awhile. And it's always the same type of fights over & over again with the same audio. So so repetitive and boring. How good looking every character is is so so cringey as well. And was it Hawaii or Japan? So many characters are Japanese despite it being in Hawaii. Such a joke. And suddenly being transported to an island where u have to collect trash & not able to return to Hawaii if u wanted? That was where i stopped playing.I came to this after completing Ghost of Tsushima, paid slightly more for this game even, but I'm completely astounded as to why people even think it's good. Have they not played games like Ghost of Tsushima? Crazy wayyy better graphics + open world. Like a dragon feels like it's worth only $10 to pay for in comparison to games like that. Basic game development, clearly low budget. Yet selling for same original price as Ghost of Tsushima and the like. I really pity all the monkeys out there who just because others say it's good, that they also say or think it's good. Or, it could be diehard fans of this series. As an outside observer who has played a ton of actually really good immersive games, this is definitely not in the same category. The amount of dopamine i got playing this game is the same as if I were to do work on my laptop. Complete baseline. They say the game gets better after the cut scenes slow down. Nahh. It stays the same. Equally **** game tries really hard to be a Japanese GTA, but fails terribly at itI rate this game 3 out of 10. Complete waste of money this. Completely not a modern AAA game. I really pity the people who actually think this is good. Probably super new to the world of games or don't know what makes a game good. How many good reviews this has gotten online makes me wonder how much the developers of this game paid off all the reviewers

Great game. Graphics, story, setting, gameplay, and characters all done well. Feel like they could’ve gotten a better English voice actor for Kiryu though.

Probably the most complete Yakuza/Like a Dragon game, not only in terms of content but also because it continues Ichiban's story and, hopefully, definitively concludes Kiryu's. For this reason, playing the entire series is essential for me, as it's packed with references. The story itself didn't quite live up to other installments in the series, and I felt similarly about the previous game as well; there weren't any truly surprising moments, nor was there much drama. On the other hand, they've greatly improved the turn-based combat, which I found quite jarring in the previous game. Ultimately, it could be the best game in the series, but it falls very short. Even so, the franchise's excellent state is something to celebrate.

By far the worst game from my favorite series, though sadly Sega seems to have to worst interests of the series in mind. I've spent over 1000 hours in Sega's previous LAD games, but Sega has shown that they care more about in-game transactions than about making a complete title in the Yakuza series. What a joke. I won't spend a cent on your slop ever again.

Awesome game. An insanely cool (and ridiculous) story, excellent gameplay, and more off the wall side quests than you can shake a tennis-racket at!

PEAK! It's emotional storytelling and the bond between Ichiban and Kiryu; everything hits harder than ever. The combat system is the best turn-based evolution yet, compared to Yakuza: Like A Dragon, as SnowiestAngeman said, it looks like a couple of college students made the combat of LAD 7; it's that bad. The story is what I would call a masterclass. The only thing that I feel bad for a 70$ game. NEW GAME PLUS is not included. That's bad, but they learned from this since Pirate Yakuza has New Game Plus included for free as intended. And please DON'T SKIP ANY YAKUZA/LIKE A DRAGON GAME. You won't get what Kiryu has gone through if you, for some reason, play YLAD as your first game

One of the greatest games ever released in my opinion. The turn-based combat system has improved, and the enhanced attacks with animations have also gotten better. The way new characters are introduced and developed is very well done like Chitose. The entire story is truly magnificent . And we can't forget one of the game's scenes that reminded us of Yakuza Kiwami 1. Overall, I truly believe it deserved to compete for Game of the Year, but it was clearly overlooked and unfairly treated.
I hope they release games for side characters who truly deserve recognition, like Shun Akiyama, Daigo Dojima, and maybe even Akira Nishikiyama.

I really don’t like what they did to the story. They reversed all of Ichibans achievements and progress he made in LAD1 and turned him into more of a reactive character instead of someone with agency. The story is very bad. Not to mention how they butchered my boy Kiryu. Game is fun to play if you ignore the glaring story issues. In my headcanon, Yakuza 0-5 are canon and LAD1 is the epilogue. All the other Yakuza game stories are non-canon.

Sure! Here's a review of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in English, reflecting a solid 8 out of 10 score: --- Review – Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (8/10) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a bold and vibrant addition to the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, blending heartfelt storytelling with absurd humor and creative gameplay. Set in both Japan and a surprisingly well-realized Hawaii, the game offers a rich, character-driven RPG experience that never takes itself too seriously—except when it absolutely should. The Good
The biggest strength of Infinite Wealth is its characters. Ichiban Kasuga continues to shine as a likable, goofy, and surprisingly deep protagonist. The supporting cast is equally strong, and longtime fans will appreciate the evolution of returning characters. The new turn-based combat system, introduced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, is refined here, offering more dynamic positioning and flashy special attacks that never get old. The world is full of things to do—side quests are wild, hilarious, and sometimes emotionally resonant. Mini-games like the crazy Dondoko Island management sim and Crazy Delivery parody keep the gameplay fresh and weird in all the best ways. The Not-So-Good
The pacing can be uneven at times, especially during long story segments or overly padded chapters. While the turn-based combat has improved, it can still feel clunky in tight environments or when AI teammates misbehave. Some side content, although charming, overstays its welcome or feels repetitive. Verdict
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth delivers an ambitious and heartfelt journey with memorable characters, satisfying combat, and tons of personality. It may stumble in a few areas, but it never loses its charm. For fans of the series—or RPG lovers open to something different—this is a trip worth taking.

According to the PS5 welcome screen, I played this for 201 hours over just less than a year, so I suppose I must have liked it. I played the Chinese language version of this game for language practice, so that was probably a factor. I spent a lot of time building infrastructure on Dondoku island, playing through the Sujimon league, and also fighting random people to level up the various characters. The fights really were a lot of fun. Regarding the story, any Yakuza game is going to struggle to match Yakuza 0, but this one was a bit disappointing at the end, and it was also difficult to follow. I didn't agree with the way Kiryu's story ended - falling on top of a man like that, and ending up in a wheelchair. Regarding the first point, come on, the guy fell in love with Sayama in the second game, and it was the writer who in subsequent games decided he wanted to change Kiryu's character - like turning down Mayumi in the fifth game. Regarding the second point, the whole idea of Kiryu is that a guy like that would die in battle and never allow himself to end up like that. But I appreciate that it was just one writer's poor decision, so it doesn't really bother me. All in all, playing the game was definitely worthwhile. By the way, the Alluring Toast battle cutscene in the **** club is one of the funniest in the whole game, I must have used it about 50 times, and it never got old!

It felt like a repetition of the first installment which I personally found superior, the story was better.

One of the best games of 2024. I usually don’t enjoy turn-based combat, but they did it so well here. It has depth, is crazy, and offers a huge variety thanks to the different abilities and jobs. The story is less serious than in previous entries, but it still has emotional moments. The side activities are excellent, and the sheer amount ensures you’ll never get bored. I put nearly 100 hours into this game and never got bored, unlike many longer games nowadays.

To those who doubted RGG Studios transition to turn-based combat, this game is a perfect example as to how it can be executed flawlessly. A step-up from its predecessor in almost every aspect, all neatly brought together with a story that will have every gamer yearning for more until the very end. It was presented as the climax of the Yakuza series, and it did not fail to deliver.

I'm a huge fan of the Yakuza series, and if you are too and play this game, it's impossible not to like it. The story introduces new characters who, as always, are very well developed and continues the mix of dramatic storytelling and over-the-top humor. The turn-based combat system has been significantly improved (it could still get better, but it's pretty solid), allowing for more freedom in choosing your moves. Of course, we also have our legendary Kiryu. I highly recommend it to all fans of the series and those who played Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Amazing game. They improved the gameplay formula, added Kiryu as second protagonist and gave him an amazing hero's journey. Of cause the old characters return (except Eri) and the new ones are excellent. As the prequel it is a turn based RPG. You have levels, skills and jobs. Later I go more into details. The game takes place in Isezaki Iijinch in Yokohama and Honolulu City in Hawaii. Hawaii is a fresh an incredible setting. It works amazing and I like the exploration. The story is also really good for the franchise standards. It starts small with Ichiban taking a flight to Honolulu City as there is a chance that his mother, he thought dead, is still alive. However there is a more sinister plot at work. He is later joined by Kiryu who is still working in the shadows but has also a baggage I cant spoil. The story is really good. A lot of people say it is weaker than the prequel and I agree and disagree at the same time. Kiryus story is the most emotional ride in ages. It is immersive and emotional on a level I have not experienced in a long time. Ichibans story is a bit weaker but has also a lot f strong moments. I love the old and new characters. They always succeed here in the franchise. Gameplay wise it is the same like the last game but with improvements. Switching jobs is now worth it. It takes far less time to level up and you gain skills far earlier. So I switched a bit instead of avoiding any job changes. Also you can add a few skills from other jobs too. The battles feel good and I have used more varieties in battle (but fall back to some tactics more often). The side activities are excellent. Of cause there are the same mini games as always like Mahjong, poker, Koi, Koi, videogames etc. The bigger ones are the fun Pokemon inspired Sujimon Battles / League, Crazy Eats, the Photo Shot hunt and the Dondoko Island. I admit it can feel like it drags on a bit too muchbut I was entertained. Needless to say that there are other side quest, a facebook like challenge and more. Graphically they made a good game. It is not the best but has charm and style. Overall I give a 9/10. It won me over and I want to go even higher. If you like the previous game it will win you over easily too.

Downloaded the 10 hour trial.
Seriously wtf. 3 hours in and all I've done is piss about at a job centre, find something to eat, dated and proposed to a girl on the 1st date and then gone after a clan... chapter 1 is so long and boring... even the fighting is ridiculous... I pray to God the Infinite wealth Pirate yakuza is improved over this game.

Honestly, this is probably the best game I've ever played, the story, the characters, the combat, the silly side quests, everything is perfect.
A lot of studios this age miss the most crucial part of making a game, making it FUN, RGG did not.

Jogo extremamente criativo.

I loved it, it did last a bit too long, and i did feel like hawaii was a bit boring. It had some really amazing moments with Kiryu in particular that i won't spoil. I think growing the map isn't always beneficial, I really loved Onomichi in Yakuza 6 because it felt packed to the brim, it felt so lovingly crafted and the lighting was stunning. Honolulu was a bit bland in comparison, and it could have been a settings issue but nothing looked that spectacular. Another issue I had was it kept putting it's side content front and center. You'll be at a dramatic part of the story (the whole story is dramatic) and all of a sudden you run into Professor Oak. The characters and Japanese voice acting is spectacular aside from Bryce. I really loved the romance thrown in with Ichiban. I'm not a huge JRPG fan but i was able to get through this by grinding and being overpowered most of the game, though i miss the brawler combat from previous entries i'm glad they're keeping it alive with the Gaiden series. I'm not 100% satisfied with how they left this game, and I absorbed every piece of content within aside from DLC which is why i'm leaving my rating as a 8.5 (9 on this scale)

I played the original like a dragon for several hours before getting bored of the repetition and the characters. For some reason, infinite wealth was so much better for me. This time I connected to the story and the characters and the combat clicked more to me. An overall great game that is worth the time needed to finish.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth takes the Yakuza series to new heights, offering an expansive, emotionally charged journey. Players can immerse themselves in a dual narrative starring Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu, exploring both the vibrant streets of Honolulu and the nostalgic Kamurocho. The game blends thrilling combat with deeply emotional character moments, though its lengthy runtime and shifting storylines can be overwhelming. Despite this, the wealth of side activities, including fun mini-games and dungeons, keeps things engaging

Graphics are a lot better than the common shimmering that was prevalent in Yakuza 7,story itself is long andengaging altough it shows that Ichiban is still years behind Kiryu when it comes to it so he takes a backseat even though we play 3/4 of the game as Ichiban. Combat is greatly improved, it's still a turn-based RPG but you must be active because of button prompts on attacks and active blocking on enemy turns as well as even positioning correctly on the battlefield to make chain attacks. Minigames are still as good as they were because they were already perfect since Yakuza 0 so every other game needs to look up to Yakuza/Like a Dragon series and take a note. Overall it was almost a perfect game if not for focusing on a worse protagonist(Ichiban) and RGG still not knowing how to make a compelling romance(the only exception is surprisingly Kaito Files dlc for Lost Judgment which handled protagonist love interest quite well).

The gameplay is quite fascinating. It has a lot of mini games that will take you quite some time to explore. Some of the combat mechanics are improved compared to yakuza like a dragon. However, I am a little disappointed with the plot which was a bit shallow and not serious at all. Still though, it has the usual funny stuff like in other yakuza games which is a plus. The game world is very vibrant and alive. You can interact in a lot of ways with the environment and people. Overall, it is really worth it to get it if you want some yakuza fun.
