There may be two Acts remaining, but Lone Wolf: Blood on the Snow is already one of the best gamebook adventures on the market. Forge Reply has achieved the perfect balance of an old-school gamebook feel while breathing new-life into an otherwise aging genre. [Episode 5, June 2014]
A classic adventure story built on a solid table-top RPG framework.
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf mixes Infinity Blade-ish combat with an interesting story, but is graphically demanding. Every menu is interactive, moves and demands computing power, what leads to long load times and crashes. Behind these problems hides an entertaining fighting game and an interesting story.

Joe Dever's Lone Wolf is a beautiful gamebook experience, but is let down by repetitive combat and a spiritless story.

When it comes to artdesign, setting and music this is the best Fighting Fantasy you can get for your tablet. The storytelling is not as good though.

The set-up is exhaustive, I'll give it that, but the breadth of the gameplay balanced against the length of the story causes it to feel like I've just played through a tiny sliver that was mercilessly sliced off a larger game with little regard for where it was cutting

Though gamebook fans will appreciate the attempt to inject some life into the genre, Lone Wolf's ambitious but undercooked combat system proves more of an obstruction than an asset.
