Its story may cut a strange and meek figure against the explosions and grenades and tanks of the boisterous ‘in-crowd’ parading itself around at this time of year, but it’s one nonetheless worth visiting, and one which begs for brains over brawn.

Certain elements, like the frequent use of Quick-Time-Events, might alienate the more hardcore PC gamers out there. However, Lone Wolf HD Remastered remains, in its core, a true Lone Wolf adventure that does more than enough credit to Joe Dever's original works.

Based on the popular gamebook, it's a good porting of an iOS title, penned by Joe Dever himself. A deep and fascinating experience, with a great replay value.

Better visuals, tweaked controls and the full story in a whole package. Even if you lose the “book” feeling given by the tablet, it’s still a nice RPG that old and new Lone Wolf fans should try.

Even on PC, Lone Wolf's adventures maintain their value as an original mix between e-book and turn-based combat. Controls with keyboard and mouse work well, and the price for the 4 full chapters is just right.

If you have not played Joe Dever's Lone Wolf on your smartphone or tablet yet, here is the right time to do it. This PC version includes all four chapters of the game with enhanced graphics and various bonuses, but is the game itself that is still beautiful and compelling as its mobile counterpart.

It’s still a good funny game but you can feel the absence of touch controls.

Lone Wolf is more than just a computer adaptation of popular gamebooks – it’s actually a real RPG with character development, crafting and looting, just with tons of text. [02/2015, p.62]

Even on PC Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf is a fun and well crafted game, a real tribute to an ancient way to tell a fantasy story. It’s not able on PC to replicate the authentic gamebook’s experience as it does on tablet, but it’s still worth your time.
