Invincible VS is bloody brilliant. Accessible yet packed with depth, Quarter Up has crafted a fighter that welcomes newcomers while offering the nuance that will excite the fighting game community. While more modes and options for solo players would certainly round out the package, this is an incredible fighter worthy of its heroic name.

With plans for post-launch content already announced, Invincible VS is likely to only improve as its lifespan progresses, which could certainly address some of the current shortcomings. However, with an already solid foundation built upon approachability and personality, Invincible VS is easy to recommend to both seasoned fighting games fans and Invincible enthusiasts.

Invincible VS is more than just an arcade fighting game. It’s a tribute to the original material. The characters have been given great animation, and even feature (most of) the original voice actors. While some are missing from the roster, the replacement voice actors do a remarkable job. The combat and most modes are what you would expect from an arcade fighter, but the story mode is a great addition that puts all the characters in the spotlight. It is somewhat short, though. It’s more like an episode of a show instead of an entire campaign. A good fighting game needs a strong community to succeed, so the coming months will show if Invincible VS will be a hit. But if what I played is anything to go by, I think most players who come to this release because they love the show, will stick around because they will also fall in love with this game.

Invincible VS is an easy game to pick up and fall in love with. I believe it has the chance to have some staying power within the ranks of the fighting game scene. With the fan following behind the comics and animated series, there is no reason why it cannot hold its own and stick around for a while. Throw in a lower-than-normal price point and smaller install size in comparison to other fighting games, Invincible VS is just more friendly to players overall.

While Invincible VS serves the brawlers at heart, it slightly falls short when it comes to giving loyal fans a deeper connection to the original franchise. It also could have used more content and tools to help close the gap between competitive pros and players still trying to find their footing.

Quarter Up has managed to deliver a solid fighting game with Invincible VS. The focus appears to be on the gameplay, which is an absolute plus in my book. Invincible VS is a snappy tag fighter set in an absurd universe, and we are fully on board with that. It is just too bad that the story mode is insanely short and that there is a lack of gameplay modes. Overall, the game has managed to please the fighting fan in me; I just wish there was more to enjoy.

Invincible VS is a fantastic experience, regardless of whether you're a fan of the fighting game genre and the original series. While the limited roster and bare bones story mode are disappointing, the satisfying gameplay, rich mechanical systems, numerous single-player and multiplayer options, and brilliant netcode will hook you right from the start. I can't wait to see what this game's future brings.

Invincible VS brings the hyper-violent aesthetic of the source material to an exciting, easy-to-learn fighting game, with a healthy roster of playable characters and a decent amount of game modes. While the story falls short of Invincible's peak, and some actors from the show don't feature, it's still a must-play for Invincible fans.

Although the story mode lets itself down a bit and the offline offerings are slim, I still had a great time with Invincible VS and expect to lose even more hours to it when the servers go up. The excellent and welcoming mechanics, well-developed roster, and tons of fan service not only make Invincible VS a stand-out tag fighter, but also the game that the series has deserving for a long time.

Invincible VS delivers a fast-paced and accessible tag fighting experience that successfully captures the tone and brutality of its source material while offering solid mechanical depth for competitive play. Inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the game stands out with fluid combat, strong character identity, and an engaging story mode, but its limited Season 0 roster and light content offering make it feel like an early foundation rather than a complete package.
