Insomnis on the PlayStation 5 isn’t quite a next-generation experience but is nonetheless a thrilling haunted house adventure worth playing should you have missed out on the original release.

If you don’t mind forking out for a spooky experience that you’ll complete in an evening and then perhaps never think about again, you could do a lot worse than Insomnis. It is genuinely unnerving at times, and its puzzles are rewarding to solve. It’s just a shame there isn’t more to it.

Insomnis sets the atmosphere right in terms of tense audio and cleverly inserted environmental elements but ultimately fails to deliver a genuine horror experience. Aside from a few stereotypical jump scares for the scripted surprise factor, there’s absolutely nothing going for this game as a horror title.

It's a good game that brings together horror and puzzles. The main character, Joe Castevet, has to learn about his past while progressing through a lurid story. Highly recommended for people who, like me, love horror video games and racking their brains with clever puzzles.

It's an alright horror game with a pretty good atmosphere and great sound design for an indie game, although the puzzles aren't much to write home about. Plus, while thankful that it doesn't have cheap jumpscares, this means that playing it in another playthrough sadly weakens the scare factor. It's worth giving it a look but maybe when it's $10 or less. Also, these 10/10 user reviews I've read have been made in the same date of 5 of november. Gee, I wonder why lol I don't think the game is bad, and if you're looking for some small indie games to scratch that horror itch, it's worth giving it a try, but it's no masterpiece. There's some interesting ideas in the story (clocks around 2 hours) but they're not fully explained from beginning to end. Plus, the game says that there's "a bunch od different endings to unlock", but so far I only met with two, where it basically boils down to a single choice in the end. For what it's worth, given rhat this is the dev's first game, I'm willing to give a pass, but I hope they'll do better next time.

insomnis is an amazing horror game. It keeps you tense all the time and I have had several unexpected scares. the narrative is very good and there are many puzzles to solve and objects to find in the mansion. An indie that cannot be missing in the library of someone who loves classic horror stories.

Insomnis is really interesting cause have a lot of references of 80's horror films. This game isn't clasic horror game cause i was have fear every time and don't use jump scares every time. Really recommended.

Insomnis is a horror game made with a lot of love. Although it is not a typical horror game, it has hints of Italian horror from the late 80s. Every corner of the house is riddled with numerous mysteries that we must solve as we progress through the game. It is impossible to miss this hidden gem.
