Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is an excellent portrayal of the chaos of war, which is held back by the somewhat flawed performance of the engine. When everything works well, your team communicates effectively, and everyone fulfills their role, it is an unforgettable experience.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is the latest installment in the Hell Let Loose franchise developed by the Expression Games. Although the installment provides an identical gameplay experience to the original, the new gameplay features greatly complement the Vietnam War theme. There are new roles across the six unit types, helicopters exclusive to the US Force, tunnels exclusive to the NVA Force, and weight capacity for progression purposes. The overall environment of HLLV is claustrophobic and atmospheric, but it can be a struggle to locate enemies through the dense foliage. Moreover, with the current state of animation bugs and poor optimization, it might be best to give it some time.

If you treat it like CoD or BF you will not have a good time. Tactics and communication matters. HLL fills a big gap between arcade and milsim. Enjoying this a lot so far.

After multiple tours, I'm in love with Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. A love that occasionally is blind to the historical inaccuracies, but is also willing to live with them because, based on what we have today, this is the best Vietnam War shooter I've played since the glory days of Vietcong in 2003. Expression Games still has room for the game to grow with factions, weapons, and maps, and there are some polish issues like the audio mixing that I hope get squared away soon, but this is a valiant effort in a theater cowards and suits dare not venture in.

Incorporating a handful of new features into the framework of its predecessor, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam brings large-scale conflict to the terrifying jungle and is capable of generating memorable moments with the right team. Unfortunately, the learning curve, the visceral reliance on teamwork, and a few too many technical issues limit its ambitions.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam delivers satisfying gunplay, an interesting gameplay loop, and a strong focus on teamwork that creates an immersive battlefield experience. While the game currently suffers from a lack of content, limited progression, and various bugs and technical issues, its core gameplay remains highly enjoyable. There is still plenty of work to be done, but the magic is already there, and Expression Games has a strong foundation to build upon with future content and updates.

This tactical shooter successfully replicates the intense, team-oriented mechanics of its predecessor while introducing varied combat dynamics. However, it struggles to fully capture the unique guerrilla warfare of Vietnam, suffering from unconvincing environmental audio, inconsistent faction differentiation, and frustrating technical issues that often undermine the critical need for seamless team communication.

Generally, though, these flashes of eventfulness are outweighed by the time spent either waiting for or trying to force something to happen. [Issue#428, p.121]

More than a Battlefield or COD when you work with a strong team this game comes alive. Taking a point with your buddies has never been so much fun and with continuous updates and future roadmap (similar to the WW2 game I feel this will go from strength to strength.

Excellent tactical FPS and one of the most impressive representations of jungle warfare seen in the genre. It keeps the strong foundations of the original Hell Let Loose—teamwork, communication, positioning, and large-scale battles—while giving them a completely different feeling through the Vietnam **** atmosphere is its strongest point. Fighting through dense jungles, thick vegetation, military bases, and rivers creates intense and immersive battles, with river combat adding even more variety. There is still room for improvement, especially with a larger weapon selection and more asymmetrical mechanics between factions. However, the game already captures the Vietnam War atmosphere extremely well and offers a unique style of gameplay.Absolutely recommended for fans of tactical shooters and immersive large-scale warfare.

An unoptimized, frustrating mess that completely ruins the tactical formula of the original game. The dense jungle environments are a visual nightmare, plagued by atrocious framerate drops, constant asset pop-in, and terrible visibility that turns every match into an unplayable meat-grinder. Without the structured map flow of World War II, the gameplay devolves into a mindless loop of sprinting through identical bushes only to get instantly killed by an invisible sniper.

Absolutely atrocious. 10 steps backwards on every aspect from the original. Terrible graphics, insanely bad sound design. Pixelated everything. Obvious cash grab scam to recoup money after purchasing the IP. Studio needs to be investigated for delivering whatever this game is compared to what was promised. 0/10

This game ****. Not even a campaign. Only online and that means you gotta wait an hour for everyone to get online to play. A campaign could have made this game so much better. Disappointed
