Heavy Fire: Black Arms 3D is the sequel that no one asked for. If you're a huge fan of shooting wave after wave of lifeless terrorist, you still won't want to play this game.

In fact, this isn’t the kind of game you want to play period. It’s the kind of game that’s clearly trying to trade off on looking like better ones, but it just reminds you that you don’t want to be playing this one.

Heavy Fire: Black Arms 3D is some of the most unimaginative shooting gallery action that $5 can buy. Sure, there are quantifiable improvements over its WiiWare blueprint, but minor improvements to the skeleton do nothing for the heart. When challenged by a squad of inane mechanics, rote encounters, choppy framerates and soulless stages, the only way to win is to not play at all.

Heavy Fire: Black Arms. Are you F***ING kidding me? This is the worst 3DS shooter game I've played. The gameplay is just terrible. The controls ****. The weapons are mediocre. The game is just WAY too hard. I am only giving this a 2/10 only because the graphics are okay. This is not playable, because I couldn't finish 1 SINGLE F***ING MISSION. Buy Call of Duty or Resident Evil Revelations 3D instead.

Decent followup to Heavy Fire: Special Operations, this 3DS conversion of its sequel plays great while on the move, with excellent touch controls, shorter and more dynamic but still very intense missions, a bit more forgiving difficulty and some more in-depth weaponry system. The tropical jungle setting is also a welcome change of atmosphere from the Somalian desert. Very good shooting gallery/rail shooter overall for the 3DS, recommended!

Being fairly experienced with stylus-point shooters (Kid Icarus Uprising being my favorite, having over 40hrs of play in the title) I can say that this title is just... broken. I cannot seem to, for the life of me, even complete the very first mission. The enemy threat is random and the markers barely help as sometimes you're only given 1/2 a second to react. This is a decent small-game idea gone horribly bad. I am wondering if they even tried their game port on the 3DS at all.
