I played this game on my smartphone and my first ever experience with this game. After seeing the gameplay on YouTube and on my smartphone, it played decently, I mean, it's not GTA IV impressive but it's nice to have a open world crime sandbox on my tiny screen of games. I would personally go for the wanted levels since they are super fun and I don't get why it's hated so much. Like this is the game that reshaped the Grand Theft Auto Games and the reason we have heavy hitters today like San Andreas, IV and V. Driving in this game is simple as 1-10.Just use the analog stick to steer and hold the accelerate button. There is a drift feature I found useless but hey, immersion. Therefore, GTA III is a amazing game But cracks are showing up This is probably one of the most frustrating games I ever layed my crusty fingers on. The story is mid difficulty but the limitations in here are slowing me down to the end of the story. Hence, I recommend playing this. 8/10

**Grand Theft Auto III – 9.7/10** A revolutionary title that redefined open-world gaming. Set in Liberty City, it offers unmatched freedom, letting players explore, cause chaos, or follow a gripping criminal rise. Its sandbox design, radio stations, and immersive world set a new standard. While controls and visuals feel dated today, its impact and ambition remain undeniable. A landmark game that changed the industry forever.

The first 3D GTA was absolutely mind-blowing for when it was released, however the graphics did not hold well considering that its intent was to look real. It is worth playing for nostalgia and getting to know where 3D GTA such as GTA V came from.

My Review – Grand Theft Auto III – 10/10 I gave Grand Theft Auto III a 10 out of 10 because it completely revolutionized open-world gaming. Liberty City feels alive and full of chaos, the missions are engaging, and the freedom to explore and cause mayhem is unmatched. The story is memorable, the characters are iconic, and the gameplay — from driving and shooting to side activities — is satisfying and fun. Even years later, it’s easy to see why this game set the standard for modern open-world games. This is why Grand Theft Auto III is a 10/10.

I was already expecting a good experience, so it wasn’t exactly a huge surprise, but considering this is a game from 2001, it’s really ahead of its time. The gameplay, design, and overall quality feel way beyond what you’d expect from that era. I haven’t had the chance to play the other classics in the franchise yet, unfortunately, but after seeing how solid the third entry is, my excitement to try the others has only grown. It’s clear this series was shaping up to be something special even back then.

This is one of the VERY few times a classic has been under-selled and under-hyped to me. Love the physics, holds up as a very fun chill sandbox game! Very refreshing in the modern day. Health system could be better. Worst part is the last few missions, suddenly incredibly hard and the difficulty spike comes out of nowhere. story is really nothing, but to be honest the simplicity is apart of the charm.

best GTA game, story is non-existent which is awesome. At least back on release, the remastered version is the first time I noticed a story. But all the cheat codes where you could be god, invincible and destroy and kill everyone just for fun is what makes this the best game. too bad GTA post 3 went down the toilet for those reason. Even in 5, only cheat code for 5 mins like wtf is that. not even long enough to do anything boo rockstar!!

By far the best game you could ever get for your PS2. This game is reason enough to buy a PS2 even if you never buy another game. Sure, it's dark and dirty, and maybe even a bit evil, but we’re all consenting adults here.

I feel as though this gmae doesn't age as horrifically as many people made it out to be. The soundtrack is pretty good for Rockstar's proper first attempt at a licenced soundtrack. Shooting does the job, can be a bit clunky at times. Driving is alright for the most part, though vehicles are generally quite vulnerable to having engines flame up. Liberty City is a very limiting and small mpa by today's standards. The story is pretty good and unique, though not much to say outside of it. Overall, the game is pretty decent, though there isn't much of a reason to play it today.

The groundbreaking open-world action game that spawned countless imitators. Released in 2001 on the PS2, it pushed the boundaries of adult content in video games. And as good as it is, GTA III would set up the template for even better sequels. Overall, the game is still a great guilty pleasure. I would rate it with a 9.5 out of 10.

GTA III revolutionized open-world gaming with its sandbox freedom, crime-driven narrative, and radio-filled atmosphere. Liberty City feels alive, offering endless chaos and exploration. The shooting and driving mechanics feel dated, and mission design can be frustrating at times. However, its impact on gaming is undeniable, making it a classic worth revisiting for its historical significance

This is already a game ahead of its time. While I was playing the game, I really enjoyed it and I liked the story, but when I finished the game, I realized that the story is not that good, but it's not bad either, it's in the middle. They could have changed a lot of things to extend the story because I don't like how in one mission I fight against the Leone family and then in the next I immediately kill Salvatore or Kenji. And the fact that the main character is just a cold-blooded killer has no empathy and whatever he is told he will do without any thought.

Personally GTA 3 for me introduced what 3d gaming could look like in the near future. A well rounded game for the time of its release with a bunch of cool features however having limited resources to work with it easily gets repetitive and is now easy to find out that it hasn't aged as gracefully as the other 2 parts of the 3d trilogy. Overall though, a massive nostalgia title for those born in the late 90s/ early 00s.

The best part of this game is you can complete missions in different ways. Something you rarely can do in later titles. Otherwise, this game aged like milk. To be honest, I'm not even a huge fan of GTA 5 or the modern GTA games although I did have some fun playing them. However, this game is many of the bad parts of GTA condensed. I remember people thought it was cool to play a criminal back in the day but I felt like I lost IQ points after completing this game. This game just leans into it's horrible game mechanics instead of trying to hide them or fix them. No wonder most people just use cheat codes and go on rampages. It's the way to have fun with this game.

Rockstar North's masterpiece is a PS2 classic. It's a revolutionary open-world action that spawned imitators. Released in the early 2000's, the game pushed the boundaries of adult gaming. You could say it was the video game equivalent of "The Sopranos". Overall, it's a 9.6 out of 10.

I remember watching my best friend play this game when it came out and being mesmerized with how badass and innovative it was. Taking control of a character who commits crimes for the mafia and other gangs… and you’re the protagonist? Blew my mind. Playing this game now… it was nostalgic for me. However, I realized quickly that GTA III probably ranks at the bottom of the series (not including GTA I or II). The graphics are very block-ish with some rendering issues that show throughout the game where textures struggle to blend in time with the frame rate. The controls are also something that, while you can understand over time and grasp quickly, they could be much better. Here are my bigger gripes with this game. One, Claude can’t swim? So any time you may accidentally drive into the water or mistime a jump, you’re dead. Which brings me to the second flaw: if you die in a mission, you don’t get to retry that mission. No. You wake up at the hospital (or police station, if you’re arrested), and you need to backtrack to the source of the mission and do it all over again. I found this to be very time-consuming, and I’m so glad they fixed this in upcoming games. Overall, this game can be fun - whether you want to play the story or cause mayhem for the thrill of it. I think GTA III is a really good game, but not as great as I remembered it being as a kid.
