Empty gameplay, pretentious story and fake choices, just pure leftwing agenda.

A poor written game. It takes place in a fictional world where animals can apparently be non-binery. Why is this forced in a the story? It's no longer about the story as it's now about preaching it. The story isn't even good & story is something that a special needs child could have written.

How is this even a game? Who green-lit this? There’s almost no gameplay, the dialog is very poorly written, the characters were not developed well, and the story is very weak. I would not recommend this game to anyone.

A really great visual novel about a bunch of **** dinosaurs dealing with the end of the world right as they start to truly become adults. Only really soured by the fact it has to "share" it's characters with a anti-fan game that fundamentally spits in the face of the original game's core themes

Snoot game is better as some others have said but this by no means a bad game. I don’t think I’ve ever identified with a fictional band more than I have this one. And maybe it’s that right now I’m a senior going through my own uncertainty about my future but the story is still gripping. It suffers a little bit the same as life is strange with its more cringy moments but it’s a story revolving around teenagers so. Musics a banger, story is decent enough,the rhythm game parts really carry it but you can tell there was just so much care put into this game. I highly recommend and is probably one of my favorite games to come out of 2023 right below bg3 and Alan wake 2.

One of the best choice gamesi have ever played the designer have maked a beautiful work, the sensatios the game pass but the better thing are the songs we play stay together worm drama.

Very lovely story and interesting characters. All this "asteroid is coming" atmosphere throughout the game is done pretty well. I've got only positive impressions after completing this game. The only thing that seemed boring to me was the L&L (aka D&D) chapters. The rest of the game is solid.

I love it and hate it. It was my first time that I cried while playing a game. Oh ducking god is the soundtrack gorgeous how the duck thit I find this game now. Duck it was amazing. Duck you for making a good game! I didn't want to crie!

Goodbye Volcano High is a great game if you like slice of life media. If you don’t you will find it quite boring, but if you do then you will love this game. Despite some game bugs (images flashing) or some lack of animation the story makes up for it and the music sections are really fun.

Ugh! You guys couldnt even animate a sloppy woppy kiss scene?? like, thats all I was waiting for! Woulda got at least a 9/10 if they woulda kissed! {Im saying "they" cuz im not gonna spoil who "they" is! Also They could be some pronouns that the characters use too! But they didnt really specify in the game, so i dont know for sure??} There were some glitches, but nothing game breaking so dont worry about it. in fact, pretend i didnt even say anything about it, cuz i dont think it is affecting my overall rating of the game itself. BUT what is affecting my rating is a lack of smooching time! like, was it too hard to animate that? they held hand?!?!?! and you couldnt have them swap saliva??? I dont understand how the game got delayed and that wasnt part of the reason?? Kinda disappointing. nah, really disappointing. There was some other reason I docked a point here, but now I cant really remember? Im sure ill think of it later. Overall, I did really enjoy this game! Sage or whatever was super annoying! But like, meh. God! What was that other reason?? Im trying to think of it and stalling as I type to give myself time to remember. uhhhhhh. Whatever. Must not have been important to me. Ill change this to a 9/10 then. my bad. The Characters were overall great and the voice acting was great too! The L&L session were a tad long, but it was fun still. I wish I could have rolled better, but the game gave me some unlucky D20 that I would be caught dead using in person cuz it was pink, and my dice are blue and silver! {Mine also come in a gold chainmail bag that I got from a secret santa one year with friends! I felt like a **** cuz I gave a Gamestop gift card and got a sweet homemade gold chainmail bag! Wow. I still feel bad about that. Sorry Adam....} Anyway, I genuinely loved this game! I was looking forward to it all 2023, and it didnt disappoint. {other than the lack of a kissing scene! what the heck guys! no pay out?? come on.} I give this game a 9/10! I wish I had more coi- OH YEAH!!! I remember now!! Im upset about the ending a little, cuz there wasnt a definitive ending? Like, just be blunt with it. Also I was kinda annoyed with the choice system! It was a neat idea, but its not good for a flaky guy like myself! I would hover over and option and the game would act like I had insecurities and not let me make that choice cuz I waffled. And I dont have insecurities! I dont! Ask anyone I know! but I guess im not playing as me, Im playing as Fang! Im dropping this back down to an 8/10 cuz of all that! Still, this was a very enjoyable game and I cannot wait to play it some more! ya know what, frick it! 9/10! I would put this up against any game for GOTY in 2023! Yes that means you TOTK! I was blown away that I didn't hate this. The plot got me interested and it delivers on that for the most part. The rhythm sections were my favorite parts. Pretty engaging for a visual novel. However those L&L bits were rough. Decent game, give it a shot!

"Nonbinary Arabic teenage pterodactyl battles the end of the world with music" sounds like the setup for a joke. Instead, it's the best game of the year. A fully-animated and voiced visual novel that feels like you're playing an anime, with a story that any open-minded person will find inspirational and shoegaze-powerpop soundtrack you'll find hard to get out of your head.

I think that the story got potential, but at the end it ended up being a borring expirience. But giving credit where credit is due the soundtrack is preatty good.

Best story in a video game ever. Best of the genre. Goodbye Volcano High is a cinematic story game I have been eagerly waiting to release for nearly a year. Having now played the game through beginning to end twice, the wait was worth it. The memorable soundtrack and music mini-games help to keep the story tight. Fang's main passions in life are their musical career and their friends, and sometimes they have to decide. I immediately connected with Fang and empathised with their struggles. The game takes about 6.5 hours to complete, but has definite replay value. There is new content to be discovered on the second, and even the third play, if you make different choices along the way. Goodbye Volcano High is a fantastic game. There have been, and there will continue to be, comparisons drawn between this game and Night in the Woods. In a world of mediocre furry-themed visual novels, Goodbye Volcano High has unseated NITW as the finest ever made. It's earned a permanent place in my heart.

Enjoyable VN type game. The choices we have to make are interesting. I haven't played a game like this in a long time that would intrigue me so much. The soundtrack alone deserves a rating of 10/10

For 25 dollars,3 years of develoment and a new history i was expectating something better,but the sad thing is thinking that the ''snoot game'' a game made by a indie studio will have everything better in all aspect,this is disapointing, i persoanlly recommend ''snoot game'' believe me,its better

Goodbye Volcano High is a beautifully wholesome story driven game. It’s about a high school rock band on the verge of breaking up. thee game is full of important dialogue choices that determine your relationships. You play music through qtes and there is even dnd in the game. The music, art style, writing and the voice acting is all brilliant. This is by far my favorite indie game of the year.

Finished the game across two sittings and was thoroughly pleased and engaged with the story throughout. The game is a visual novel that has some interesting interactive musical sections that you want to nail perfectly due to how much you care about the plight of the characters. The game brings you through a roughly 8 month span in the lives of a bunch of anthropomorphized teenage dinosaurs. The writing and quips of teenagers in their senior year seem pretty spot on. The only present bummer is that nearly all the trophies on the PS5 version are borked. I collected 2 quick trophies in the first 30 minutes and then for one reason or another, none of the progression based or missable trophies (that I know I earned) popped. I rolled credits but have a 2% trophy stat. Devs said they are looking into the issue.
