Idk, if it's because it's 20 years old or the game just doesn't hit. The multiplayer is just people wall bouncing and the campaign has a great story but it's told in such a awful way. I never wrote bad reviews but I couldn't even finish the game. It's just so borrding. Every level is on repeat. Kill 4 guys, move up, kill 4 guys and make sure to get the guy on turret. Kick a down down, repeat. And every section looks the same. The same 3 levels on repeat. Do have to admit though gears 2 is way better.

OMG this is the definition of a supreme couch co-op shooter! I can't tell you the amount of hours I would play this with anyone who came over! The design, lore, world building and top notch visuals, controls, gameplay, and mechanics are what really stand out and were never intrusive to single-player or co-op gameplay modes!

La campaña es corta pero su intensidad, puesta en escena, oscuridad, diseño de sonido y, en general, sensación de opresión constante, no tiene comparación y generó un nicho en el mercado del que muchos juegos bebieron. Probablemente suya sea la culpa de que el mercado contemporáneo tire hacia ambientes más oscuros y haya perdido el sentido cultural naif que predominaba en el mundo de los videojuegos. Quizá también inauguró de forma dramática la necesidad de competir entre medios y acabó cerrando el nicho que ocupó Nintendo. Es una pieza de engranaje de guerra, valga la redundancia, que todavía sigue siendo relevante y que fascinará por su sensación de inmersión y general sentido salvaje. Un clásico quizá demasiado enmarcado en su generación; por eso no consigue llegar al nivel de obra maestra. También hay que reconocer que no es un juego para todo el mundo y que no invita necesariamente a ser completado porque la dificultad puede ser extrema en algunas secciones. No obstante, aquí tenemos quizá uno de los mejores títulos de acción en tercera persona que se han sacado en la historia y uno que fue fundacional como sistema. Hay mucho de lo que hablar pero es mejor que dispares y lo pruebes.

Antes de falar sobre o jogo, gostaria de deixar um adendo, de que estou jogando a franquia pela primeira vez em 2026, nunca havia encostado em nenhum jogo da série Gears, pois bem, eu achei o jogo uma jóia, ele tem tudo que eu gosto em um game e é o estilo de jogo que eu mais curto, ele trás uma gameplay simples mas ao mesmo tempo bem técnica, funciona muito bem para o estilo de jogo, apanhei um pouco para pegar o time do cover, mas não é um monstro de 7 cabeças, com tranquilidade dá pra se acostumar, as armas são exelentes e combina com a dificuldade punitiva do game, os inimigos são inteligentes, se escondem, é difícil de acertar e além disso ainda possuem uma pontaria incrível, o que dá mais charme a IA do game, bom a trilha sonora é fantástica e casa absolutamente bem com os ambientes e cenários jogáveis do game, eu adorei o jogo do começo ao fim, recomendo para quem nunca jogou e quer começar, agora é ir atrás dos outros para jogar a franquia toda né...

Un juego violento ysuper entretenido, me gusta que a la hora de disparar en este juego sientes el mando pesado como si tú mismo disparas el arma por el impacto de las balas que tienen, paramí es el peor de la trilogía por su historia algo floja pero se entiende por ser el primero de la saga pero con esto no quiero decir que tenga una historia mala, tiene una historia muy buena y disfrutable y sus zonas de batalla espectaculares realmente sientes que la razaHumana está en riesgo de extinguirse.

Es increíble que este juego todavía se pueda jugar en línea pero con la salida del remaster hay menos gente jugándolo. Y si encuentras gente solo son personas buscando conseguir logros. Eso arruina la experiencia.

För mig är detta spel ett konstverk. Intressant och väl berättad story, snyggt för sin tid, och även om jag först tyckte att det var skit konstigt att alla karaktärer har tagit 6 anabola sprutor varannan timme i ändan så växte det på mig. Varje mission var unikt, och jag kunde helt enkelt inte få nog!

"Gears of War" was a ground breaker much like "Halo" and "Resident Evil 4". It was the best action game of 2006. While there had been cover-based shooters before, none had the polish or innovations of "Gears". This dark sci-fi adventure combined a great campaign with competitive multiplayer. Highly cinematic and thrilling, the game would be the king of shooters until "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" hit shelves a year later. Overall, I would rate this first "Gears" with a 9.4 out of 10.

Awesome pvp, true skill game, nice community, active in the big 25 but in 2007-8 it was the best game for me and for much other people really enjoyed the campaing just it is a little bit short but its really enjoyable the technology was amazing for the time it came out no doubt this is one of the greatest shooters in history, Absolute cinema.

One of the best game in all time. Its story and PvP modes are awesome. Nobody believed Xbox 360 is that powerful in that time.

Picked up this one many years ago and really, it did not disappoint. Been playing it over and over off and on over the years. Really loved the atmosphere, music and gameplay. Pretty epic to be honest. Not to the level of Master Chief epic, but pretty good nonetheless. Solid 8 out of 10.

I've played through the series and found the unique gameplay refreshing but always just found the games okay. I don't know why but all the games are basically the same to me and I wouldn't prefer one over the other. I would recommend though just for the unique gameplay.

I remember really liking this game as a kid, which is why I believe for its time it was a great game. However, this game did not age well. For the lack of the narrative there isn't much to bring it back to life. The story is overall very weak, the writing can be very simple and the gameplay has 30 minutes of new and exciting content stretched across the entire game. Which ultimately makes the game predictable and feel like a drag. We have to give gears its credit tho with its characters like Marcus and dom, who arent the most exciting characters ever but they serve their purpose. Also its influence on third person shooters.

The worst of the trilogy, but not really bad in any sense. It probably has the most rough graphics of any game, which, personally, I LOVE. The story is ok, didnt really take me that much as other trilogy, the contolling has sometimes flaws, but thats probably becouse of my controller.

Awesome gameplay and especially the couch co-op splitscreen function with my friends was the best experience ever. Really love the hammerburst and the saw rifle in this game. Raam is a menacing villain. This game is when xbox was at its peak at the time.

A complete game , story , action , sound and shock factor . The vibe is military scifi with a horror element . A lot of dark and bloody scenes , small scale puzzles and traversing mixed with coop mechanics makes for a really fun experience alone or with a friend . The characters are really interesting but don't get full development arcs . 360 - XB1 gen enhancements , on Series X the enhanced edition runs really smooth . The 360 edition runs a little clunky but tolerable

After almost 18 years since the game's release I finally get to try it, for a 2006 game it still surprisingly holds up some of the mechanics though playing this in 2024 can find many notice many problems such as famedrops and the aiming mechanics. To start with, the game seems unoptimized for the console as there are many framedrops and a rough frame rate and it gets really noticeable if you are on a heavy combat. The aiming mechanics feels stiff and clunky and its hard to focus your aim properly on the enemy especially when controlling the recoil making you miss most of the shots (personal experience) For its age, the story and gameplay is still pretty solid it also keeps its replay value and still enjoyable

mass effect is one of my all-time favorite game series of all time. it has amazing missions and a wide plethora of interesting characters. i've always loved exploring the galaxy and learning about the deep political dynamics of the different species and how those dynamics shift with the looming threat of the reaper invasion. very good game.

Com protagonistas e antagonistas marcantes gears of war 1 se destaca com uma gameplay tática e estratégica.

To be fair. I played this on 2023. game’s concept still great. story just decent but acceptable cause this game’s on just shooting right.about bad things that is unique feature. I don’t like reload system. it’s so annoying and running camera angle and motion is so bad. bugs everywhere every maps every times. I don’t understand how people on 2006 can actually play this game.

El juego que revoluciono los disparos en tercera persona. En su momento fue una completa sorpresa su calidad de gráficos. Lo considero mi juego favorito de la Trilogía original de Gears of War. Tiene una historia sencilla pero profunda. Sus personajes y ambientación es algo que no pudo reproducirse en sus secuelas de nueva generación.
