Galaxy of Pen & Paper is one of the most fun games I've ever played. It is a blast of nostalgia that takes me back to the late nineties when I was playing colorful turn based rpgs on the television and playing in colorful worlds of the mind using the GURPS on my kitchen table with friends. This game is funny, filled with quips and running jokes. It functions on this beautifully crafter meta-level where your interactions with your friends who are playing the campaign are as important as the battles you are playing in the campaign. Speaking of battles, both the ground battles and ship battles are engaging and familiar. The skills system is versatile and easy to switch between useful attack and support options. The real strength of the game is it's story. It's not emotionally impacting, it's transporting. It successfully put me back into my childhood. The table of characters have wonderful dialogue options that make you feel like both the GM and the players. The supporting NPCs are funny and surprisingly self aware and the villains are straight out of Saturday morning cartoons. The only issues were with non-consequential NPCs, they were roped to one of four dialogue choices. I experienced one bug, that resolved itself with a reload. This game is five dollars but it feels like a game of a much higher caliber. Please buy this game, it will make you giddy with nostalgic glee and engage you the entire time. Behold Studios should know that this game is wonderful and that they should continue in their current direction.
