While the action levels are exciting, things like the stealth levels, a bad draw-in distance, and ill-placed music detract from the experience.

The overall gameplay in Fire Blade is most likely the games highest point, as it has a lot of depth and takes some time to fully master.

It’s not the deepest game you’ll find, but its oddly satisfying.

POSITIVE POINT: Great and well-done scenario destruction, fast, simple and objective missions, well-attributed aim assistance, a shot at living beings leaves blood and there's mutilation with limbs being severed, destruction of everything is well crafted!
NEGATIVE POINT: Ugly graphics, high difficulty simply because the scenarios are full of enemies and everyone shoots at you at the same time! and to make matters worse there is no infinite life code

If I could've set things up more like the controls in "Quake" or "Half Life," I think I would've enjoyed it more. [August 2002, p.108]

Unfortunately FireBlade's visuals are a notch below most offerings for 2002, but the control is what ultimately keeps this title grounded.
