Really feels like the culmination of all the lessons learned during the years by FromSoftware My two major gripes are that I don't really like the open world, I think the gameplay and this type of game is better suited for a linear map And that, for some reason, they decided that all of the DLC bosses need a **** of health

what a game this is now i'm completely new to souls games but i'm glad i started with this one the world was breathtaking the combat wasn't to hard to learn perfect for beginners but don't think from just that statement alone your going to breeze through it because oh no you wont this game will make you feel a new type of rage if you actually progress it and don't get lost and annoyed like i did the first time. if your new to souls game i would recommend getting a friend to help you on your first run providing they know what to do because it will make it more fun and less rage inducing. the story of the game is fantastic no matter what ending you do and theres so much to do on the side its kind of overwhelming but in a good way the replay ability of the game is next level as there so many different build or challenge runs you can do. honestly don't sleep on this game and try and get the platinum its easier than you think and a massive flex

One of the best games ever. Most people that say otherwise are so talentless that they can’t even be good at a video game. Great story and combat.

My favorite from far, one of the best dlc, extremely beautiful boss fights, the map is the most beautiful open world for me and it's giant, Underground world... A lot of different biomes, great number of weapon, Ash of wars(weapon art), incantations spells, sorceries spells... A very good and deep story in a beautifull world that colapsed. Just the best game ever for me I cant write all the things that make it the best game ever.

Absolutely stunning game but some (not all) of the side content becomes a real chore to get through after the first couple times. Combat is fluid and offers so many options to slay. Both enemies and bosses are dynamic and allow for almost as many play styles against them as there are weapons in the game. Big enough in scale to do almost anything you could want and not have it get old very fast. What keeps it from a 10:
Side areas (dungeons mostly) quickly become a drag to get through and it takes a while to get anywhere or do anything after you have played the game through ten times.

Elden Ring is the best well crafted game of all time, every boss, every ost, every area felt unique, the exploration is soo good, the gameplay is good and rewarding. The lore is insane, story is ok, one if the greatest games of all time.

La difficulté entre guillemet gérable du jeu lui permet d'être beaucoup plus appréciable que les précédents opus.

The design is crazy, so good and stunning. Is very challenging but it let you explore and level up to fight the boss in a more easy and balanced fight.

Now you may be wondering why I gave Elden Ring a 0/10 rating. When I first put the game in, I was genuinely amazed. I thought it was awesome. Extraordinary, even. I was like “yeah, this is it, this is peak gaming.” The world looked insane, the combat felt intense, everything was mysterious and cool and I was fully locked in from the start. But then I ran into one small problem that completely ruined my entire experience. I thought there was going to be a powerful, legendary, wearable ring called the Elden Ring. Like an actual ring. Something you equip. Something that gives you insane stats. Something that makes you basically unstoppable and cool-looking at the same time. That’s what I signed up for. So naturally, I started looking for it. At first it was casual. Just exploring. Doing a few fights. Checking the map. “I’ll find it soon,” I thought. But then it escalated. I started clearing entire regions. Killing bosses. Reading item descriptions I didn’t understand. Talking to NPCs like they were going to drop hints. It became personal. And the worst part is—I think I was too far gone to stop. I should’ve paid more attention to the story and the cutscenes, but instead I got locked into this idea that the Elden Ring was somewhere out there, just waiting to be found and equipped. So I kept pushing forward, thinking “it has to be next area, it has to be this boss, it has to be this dungeon.”Hours turned into days. Days turned into way too many hours. And then I finally reached the end of the game. And what do I find? Not a ring. Not even close. Just some giant dumbass yellow tree situation called the Elden Ring or something. At that point I was already in too deep. 300+ hours gone. Fully invested. Emotionally committed. And the “Elden Ring” turns out to be a metaphysical concept tied to a ugly ass yellow tree that you absolutely cannot wear on your finger. And even if it wasn’t broken or whatever… I still can’t wear it. Which feels like a major design oversight, if you ask me. So yeah. That’s why I give this game a 0/10.

I had initially played for 50 odd hours when it came out but barely explored after beating Godrick. I loved the game but was not very good. Years later I pick it up again and spent another 50 hours learning the game again and really improving. The sense of accomplishment is unlike anything experiences in many other games in the decading I have been playing video games! After completing the game, i straight away bought the dlc and will play again as New Game Plus, which i have only ever done with Black Myth WuKong! I highly recommend playing this game.

One of the best soulslike game ever made, and i doubt i will ever play another soulslike game this good. It does have some drawbacks. The late-game content feels a little thin compared with the earlier parts of the game, and some areas feel less rewarding to explore. However, it is still undoubtedly a masterpiece.

Do I even have to explain it?
It's the soulsborne formula perfected with an amazing setting, a variety of different weapons and spells, a greater underlying story with unnecessarily engaging characters, undoubtedly one of my top 10 favorite games of all time.

FromSoftware's Elden Ring is nothing short of a watershed moment for the medium. Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin have forged a world that feels both impossibly vast and meticulously handcrafted — every windswept plain, crumbling ruin, and fog-laden catacomb whispers a story without ever spelling it out. The Lands Between is not a checklist of icons on a map; it is a place that rewards curiosity with awe, and punishes complacency with grace.

One of those games you just have to be in the mindset to play, but once your in that space you can't put it down.

At first, every boss felt impossible. Then, little by little, I learned the patterns, found the openings, and finally overcame them. Elden Ring offers some of the most rewarding boss fights I have ever experienced.

-no believable world, repetitive gameplay-
As a side note: my criticism isn't about difficulty. The game is fairly easy after the early game. I was already level 55 with under 15 hours, 83 by 20h (besides exploration - farming soldiers in Gatefront Ruins and militia in Greyoll's Dragonbarrow for fast runes).
The game has positive aspects, but for me the weaknesses clearly outweigh them.
The most positive point first: the monster design is magnificent. Many creatures, bosses, and enemies look fantastic and have an impressive presence. I also like the system with the spirit companions. That is already where the strengths end. The world does not feel alive, but artificially pieced together. Instead of a believable fantasy world, I see a collection of enemies, ruins, and loot subjects/objects without meaning or connection. It feels as if everything is only there for grinding. There is hardly any normal life, hardly any society, hardly anything that gives the impression that this world is not just a backdrop for battles. The NPCs are often blurry and also seem placed into the landscape arbitrarily. Right at the beginning, you encounter a merchant who looks like Santa Claus.
What is especially disturbing for me is the artificial enemy AI. In some cases, the enemies behave absurdly stupidly. They stand in immediate proximity while you slaughter their comrades. These die screaming loudly, fall to the ground dramatically, and even break entire wooden carts into pieces in the process – yet the other enemies seem to take no notice of it at all. Once an enemy has spotted the player, it is often enough to crouch briefly – no matter whether you are crouching directly in their field of vision! (as long as you maintain a certain distance). Even if you are actually still in direct line of sight, they suddenly lose all interest, turn around, and walk away. If they randomly walk in the same direction as the player, it is usually enough to make a small detour around them, and you can already assassinate them from behind. The progression system also did not convince me. Neither leveling attributes nor upgrading weapons feels particularly noticeable in combat. At the same time, the combat strength of many enemies often seems arbitrary. Instead of a comprehensible increase in power, the impression of an unbalanced system often arises. For this very reason, I do not experience Elden Ring as challenging in the sense of a fair, high difficulty level. Instead, much of it feels unbalanced, inconsistent, and unnecessarily unfriendly to the player. Not to mention the imprecise controls. The game often does not challenge the player through intelligent systems or believable challenges, but rather through idiosyncratic design decisions that create frustration without increasing enjoyment accordingly. On top of that comes the storytelling approach. After many hours, I never had the feeling of following an exciting story. Instead, you run around, collect items, upgrade weapons, level up, and defeat monsters. But for what purpose, actually? The story here is a pale excuse to at least have a bad explanation of what you are supposed to do in this world. The whole game principle ultimately boils down to finding stronger equipment in order to defeat stronger enemies, so that you can find even stronger equipment in order to defeat even stronger enemies. I found this cycle pointless and not very motivating. However, if you are as ambitious as I am, you run the risk of spending hours upon hours farming runes or searching for useful items, not because it is fun, but because you simply want to progress. The rune system sounds interesting on paper: when you die, the runes remain at the place of death. In practice, this mostly just means additional running distances. It gets even more absurd in dungeons. If you jump down a small ledge, there is often no way back. The character can fight gigantic monsters, but cannot climb a chest-high rock. Such limitations do not feel challenging to me, but simply unnatural and unuser-friendly. It is better to always enter a dungeon without runes, because if you are still too weak for the enemies inside (which you cannot know, since in the same regions absurdly weak and absurdly strong enemies coexist), then you might lose all your runes. Graphically, I am also conflicted. The landscapes and monsters can look impressive, but many NPCs and some enemies (knights, wolves) feel stiff, strange, and in some cases noticeably weaker in quality than the creatures. This creates a strange contrast for me between excellent monster design and less convincing character models. Conclusion:
Hardly any atmospheric sense of travel, no believable world, repetitive gameplay loop. Technically and artistically impressive in individual areas, but as a gameplay experience for me neither motivating nor satisfying. The beautiful monsters alone are not enough to compensate for the many weaknesses.

Unfortunately too difficult. I really tried putting hours into this game. But after 5 hours and still being beaten by the first giant I encounter.. its not worth it.
I would have loved to experience the story

I played this title on my PS5.I think it's worth mentioning beforehand that I've already completed several Souls-like games, so the core gameplay mechanics weren't intimidating to me. Because of that, I wouldn't describe the game as particularly difficult. Funny enough, I actually found it easier than many other titles in the genre.Plot:It's **** with most Souls games, the story is difficult to rate because, in many ways, it barely exists. You wake up in a hostile world and need to destroy anything standing in your way. That's essentially the plot. Everything else is world-building and **** Elden Ring, they clearly tried to do something more ambitious, especially with George R. R. Martin's involvement. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't really land. In a game of this scale, it's a shame that so much of the story is hidden away in a few lines of item descriptions. They could have done much more with it.Graphics:They were good enough. Not outstanding, but not disappointing either. I've seen both better and worse.Optimization:This is where things become messy. The supposed 30 FPS cap felt more like a suggestion than an actual limit, as I experienced several noticeable frame-rate drops throughout my playthrough. While it wasn't completely game-breaking, it was definitely noticeable and occasionally distracting.Artistic Style:Now this is where the game truly shines. I absolutely loved the visual design. The enemy designs, environments, and overall atmosphere were excellent. Even when certain assets, such as ruins and environmental pieces, started to feel somewhat repetitive, it was never noticeable enough to hurt the experience.Gameplay:I'm always surprised by how enjoyable gameplay can be when developers focus on doing a few things really well instead of trying to do everything. Despite the relatively limited moveset, the combat remained engaging throughout the game. There are certainly some weaker moments, but above all else, it was simply fun. And sometimes that's more important than complexity.Overall:Even though there were signs that the game might have been a bit too ambitious for the size of the development team, I think they delivered. It's not the greatest game ever made, and personally I don't think it deserved all of the Game of the Year praise it received. However, I still enjoyed it a lot and would happily recommend it to fans of the genre.

The very best Fromsoftware game to date. Visuals look great, story/lore and atmosphere is top notch. Exploration is extremely rewarding and has plenty of callbacks to past games. Boss design is still best in the genre, weapons are varied and that one more try mentality is at its absolute peak. Luckily if you stumble on a late game area you can always just go in another direction. Fromsoftware really did a great job with the open world design of this game and it shows why they won GOTY. This game excels in everything it sets out to do.

Elden ring est a ce jour pour moi le jeu ultime en soul like, l histoire et le monde ouvert sont au top. Je peux le faire plusieurs fois sans me lasser, en jouant à chaque fois un build different.
