With new modes and features aiming to better onboard players, as well as an improved Career mode and upgrades to the core combat experience, EA Sports UFC 6 is the most entertaining and authentic representation of the sport yet. The new museum-like Hall of Legends is a great addition, too.

UFC 6 is, to date, the most complete mixed martial art gaming experience available. Visual pleasing, with enough content to keep players going for many rounds. New accessible play options are a massive bonus, and whilst it does suffer from "EA bloat", it's not so overwhelming as to ruin the experience.

UFC 6 definitely feels like championship material, though it's a few notches below an all-time great.

EA Sports UFC 6 delivers an authentic and highly entertaining MMA experience. Its deep combat system rewards skill and strategy, while new accessibility options help newcomers find their footing. Although the career mode remains somewhat repetitive and veterans may miss bigger innovations, UFC 6 successfully captures the intensity and spectacle of the sport.

After three year development work, one could expect even greater strides forward, but EA Sports UFC 6 still leaves a good aftertaste for fans of the sport and also for those who generally like high-quality fighting games.

UFC 6 is still the best game this franchise has delivered in a long time. The visuals are incredible. The physics engine brings wild unpredictability that’s both gruesome and hilarious. And the soundtrack alone elevates the experience above the rest. The career mode is a missed opportunity and the customization tools need serious attention — but as a complete package, UFC 6 lands more than it misses. Sometimes a clear step forward is exactly what a franchise needs.

EA Sports UFC 6 does many things right, delivering what you’d expect from it. But as a title meant to advance the franchise, it stumbles too often to truly stand out.

Increasing the technical efficacy for UFC 6 was the next progression for the franchise as it utilizes the tools that EA has been implementing in recent times. Fight Week will keep players engaged along with The Gym, but this feels more geared towards the hardcore UFC fan. There's a lot here for newcomers to start with, but the accessibility features can at least get them engaged initially. The Legacy narrative prologue to Career Mode is narrow, and most of the time in the mode, ends up involving sparring to try to increase traits and fitness prior to a fight. There's much more here that can be added. The game looks and sounds great and the combat remains core. Flow State is a welcome addition, however, if going towards being a fighting game. The menu performance is abysmal and hopefully can be improved as it detracts from doing certain things. The Hall of Legends is a wonderful experience that needs to be implemented into other sports games. Everyone loves a good documentary. UFC 6 improves on the UFC experience over its predecessor and boasts everything that the fanbase could ask for.

The story does a great job of pulling you along for the first few hours as you go from rivals to friends and back to rivals again. It gets you invested in the action and raises the stakes, but the narrative climaxes near the beginning of your UFC career and then fizzles out. It feels like a bit of a missed opportunity to keep you engaged when you reach the top and have to defend your belts. Nonetheless, between the fluid fighting and the story-mode razzmatazz, this is the best version yet of EA’s fight-sim series.

EA Sports UFC 6 is a great sports-fighting game that brings a slew of single-player content that new and returning UFC fans will enjoy. With well over 100 playable fighters on the base roster, there's a legend or current-day superstar to test out with the improved gameplay mechanics and new features, including the all-new and intuitive Flow State. The game's assist and difficulty options also give you control and ease you into what's new in EA Sports UFC 6.
