In Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, the story surrounding Mephisto and Lilith culminates in an epic finale. The game also introduces new classes, new endgame activities, new mechanics like the Horadrim Cube, and important quality-of-life improvements such as a loot filter and a map overlay. It’s a robust bundle with something for everyone.

Lord of Hatred is the best possible conclusion for Diablo IV, giving fans everything they wanted and more. There’s a real sense of satisfaction in closing the Age of Hatred with some peace in Sanctuary.

Felling demonic hordes as the Paladin and Warlock is as addicting as ever. The expansion's new systems are welcome variety for an already-rich game. When you add additional post-game content and a top-tier storytelling experience, you have one of the best modern expansions available. Diablo fans deserve excellence and Blizzard has delivered.

The expansion cleverly integrates Lilith's past, though new characters lack screen time, and Mephisto's manipulation feels rushed. The new Warlock class is a highlight, blending Necromancer and Mage elements with great build flexibility. Significant changes to passive skills and the introduction of Talismans revamp character progression across all classes. While not revolutionary, Lord of Hatred delivers a well-rounded experience, enhancing the core game with impactful changes and a compelling story.

It’s undeniable that Diablo 4 has grown into a far bigger and better game. The Lord of Hatred expansion is a massive step forward in end game content, new and exciting classes, and a dark and bloody campaign.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred knocks it out of the park in pretty much every department, especially when it comes to the story, which reaches some impressive emotional highs I never would've expected from a Diablo game. The state of Diablo IV has been gradually improving since launch day; it may have taken a while for us to get here, but I can confidently say that Diablo IV's in the best shape we've ever seen.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is an excellent expansion that breathes new life into the hack-and-slash action RPG game. The expansion closes a lengthy narrative arc in truly epic fashion, the new Warlock class is extremely fun to play, and the new systems greatly improve build variety and endgame planning.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Lord of Hatred and think it goes a long way towards improving the Diablo 4 experience as a whole. While I could nitpick a few issues here and there, the package in its entirety is an impressive expansion that offers tons of welcome features and challenges to keep Diablo 4 players engaged in endgame content for hundreds of hours more. I can easily see Lord of Hatred becoming one of the most beloved expansions in the Diablo franchise.

Despite some stumbles, such as a somewhat rushed narrative and the absence of significant endgame innovations, Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred represents the pinnacle of quality achieved by the game in its three years of constant evolution. If you only care about the plot and the new region, there's no problem waiting for a sale, but if you want to jump into the new season with the new classes, then this is an expansion that shouldn't be missing from your library.
