Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition

Overall, Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition is a great game to have included on Nintendo Switch 2 and developers did an excellent job of porting to the console without compromising the experience all all. The beautiful gothic aesthetic in art style, environments, and soundtrack convey the developers message perfectly. Split time between 3 different protagonists makes for a more interesting experience both as far as the story and in combat. This game is a must play, especially if you have not played it before on other platforms or only play on Nintendo consoles.

The Switch 2 is never going to be as powerful as a PS5 or XBOX Series, but games like DMC 5 show it doesn’t need to be. Aside from a slight… crispiness to the character models hair, similar to other RE Engine titles I’ve played on Switch 2, this game looks great. The default brightness is too high which washes out some of the visuals, but this is easily corrected in the options menu. (it took me way too long to realize what was happening…) The soundtrack is killer. The story is satisfying. The writing is exactly what you’d want from this series. Overall, this is an outstanding experience for first timers and veterans alike and is absolutely worth the cost of entry.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition may not be the ultimate version of the game, but it’s another strong port from Capcom that especially excels when played in handheld mode. The core game has plenty to offer, and it’s fantastic to have Vergil included without any additional cost. It’s unfortunate that not everything from the Special Edition could be included, but despite that, Devil May Cry 5 is still easily one of the best games of this kind that you can play on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition is not the definitive version of the game, but it comes extremely close and exceeds expectations entirely. The game remains one of the best action games on the market despite being released back in 2019. While certain graphical sacrifices and the lack of Legendary Dark Knight mode are noticeable, its consistent 60 FPS performance and inclusion of nearly all DLC make it a port worthy of an SS Rank.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is perfect for those with no prior experience of the adventures of Dante and his companions. In other words, me! It is easy to get into the story thanks to a "movie" that recounts the series' history, while various difficulty levels and accessibility options ensure players of all skill levels can enjoy the game. The characters' roguish charisma makes every moment entertaining, and time spent with the trio certainly never drags.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is a prime example of how a port for the Nintendo Switch 2 should be handled: fluid, responsive, and visually impressive, despite a few minor compromises. Now, years later, Switch 2 owners can also dive into the frenetic action of this "Stylish Action" title, which offers a fast-paced, dynamic combat system featuring four playable characters. The Devil Hunter Edition includes all the content from the Special Edition—a comprehensive package, save for the Turbo and Dark Knight modes. That is hardly a deal-breaker, however; the epic journey alone will keep players occupied for around 20 hours (assuming they unlock all the side missions), not to mention the time spent honing combat skills and conquering the Bloody Palace. If you’ve been waiting for the chance to get your hands (or get back) on Devil May Cry 5 in a portable format, the Devil Hunter Edition is the perfect choice. The question remains, however: will the long-awaited Devil May Cry 4 ever make its way to the Nintendo Switch 2? It is the one missing entry that we really feel is needed.

The variety of character abilities is pure poetry—classic Devil May Cry. Even the story holds its own by fleshing out the backgrounds of certain characters. The problem lies in the pacing; repetitive levels quickly lead to boredom.

This was my first Devil May Cry game, and I can safely say it won’t be my last. The combat is the obvious highlight. It’s fast, incredibly smooth and gives you so many weapons, combinations and styles to experiment with that it never becomes repetitive. Slowly learning how everything works, upgrading your abilities and chasing those higher style scores is ridiculously addictive. What surprised me most, though, was how much I enjoyed the story. The voice acting, animation and cinematic presentation are excellent, and they give the combat a real sense of momentum and purpose. The metal soundtrack fits the action perfectly, while the orchestral moments during the more emotional scenes work just as well. It also looks and feels fantastic on Switch 2. I can’t recommend it enough. Now it’s time for Son of Sparda mode...

A veces es mejor no lanzar un producto en otra plataforma y dejarlo donde está, en lugar de hacer tantos sacrificios y manchar la experiencia. Si pudiera devolverlo, lo haría.

The character designs are terrible and completely different from **** action lacks a sense of satisfaction, and the bosses are excessively **** new characters have absolutely no appeal.

The game is great... on another system, but on the s2. It runs poorly. Not only it cheaper to purchase on any other system, but on the s2, the framerate often drops to 12 fps during heavy action scenes. The graphics is also a downgrade compared to pc and Xbox as well. Avoid this purchase.
