What a game!! It takes everything I loved about the narrative-driven exploration of the first Control and expands on it in a massive and mind bending open world that feels just right in its size and scope - not so big that it gets repetitive or gets you lost, but not so small that you do and see it all too soon. I wish there was slightly more enemy variety, but other than that the gameplay loop is tight and engaging. Remedy are absolutely unparalleled in empowering games as art; the game is even full of literal art galleries that each showcase different real world paintings photographs and illustrations. Extra kudos for being just as chock full of weird, zany, paranormal side quests as before!

Control Resonant: 8.5/10Remedy Entertainment takes a bold, ambitious leap with Control Resonant, shifting the series away from the brutalist, claustrophobic hallways of the Oldest House and thrusting players into a fractured, reality-warping Manhattan. Taking control of Dylan Faden, this sequel reimagines the series' formula by morphing from a tight third-person shooter into a dynamic, fast-paced action RPG built around fluid movement and aggressive melee combat. Steam+ 1World and Gameplay Mechanics The star of Control Resonant is its traversal and combat synergy. Armed with the morphing Aberrant weapon—which seamlessly transforms from heavy two-handed hammers to agile dual blades—and a suite of movement abilities like Shift, Reach, and Elevate, traveling across sideways **** and altered urban districts feels closer to a superhero action title than a traditional survival shooter. The expansive zones across Manhattan balance open-ended exploration, hidden encounters, and bizarre side quests with Remedy's signature surreal atmosphere and bureaucratic horror. Deep build customization and skill trees give Dylan's paranatural toolkit genuine depth, making combat encounters varied and satisfying throughout. Steam+ 1What WorksFluid Movement & Kinetic Combat: The traversal mechanics make navigating the distorted Manhattan skyline a joy, while instant weapon-morphing keeps melee encounters fast, stylish, and responsive.World Design & Visual Flair: Remedy’s Northlight Engine shines as gravity-defying architecture, shifting urban geometry, and vivid paranatural anomalies turn Manhattan into an astonishing visual playground.Deep Progression: Expanding Dylan’s abilities through detailed skill trees and RPG progression allows for distinctly different playstyles compared to the first game. Where It Falls Short Tonal Shift: The transition toward more traditional action RPG conventions and open zone activities slightly diminishes the tense, mysterious paranoia that made the original game's lore so enigmatic.Visual Clutter in Heavy Brawls: During major encounters with multiple Resonant Entities, the sheer density of particle effects, dynamic shifts, and spatial warping can occasionally obscure enemy telegraphs.Control Resonant is a thrilling evolution for the Remedy Connected Universe. While purists may miss the tighter focus of the original, the fluid combat, striking visual imagination, and exceptional traversal make Dylan's journey through a broken New York an essential play for action RPG fans.

Please don't listen the reviewers, this game is not a 8 or 7 like the brain rot gaming media suggests, this game is a truly masterpiece highly recommend it. It is the best of remedy, makes me really excited for future Remedy Titles

Words cannot describe how disappointing this game is. There are good ideas here - absolutely none of them are executed well. From the bland combat, which front loads all your abilities in the first three or so hours, to the progression system which oddly depends on you upgrading weapons you will never ever use to get stronger, to the the approximately 5 enemy type variations, everything is a let down (not to mention the cringe voice acting). If that weren’t bad enough, the game wiped all of my progress on the final zone, just because. I had been dragging myself across this finish line, but I will never touch this abomination again.

Of all the story beats it has me watch, nothing sets up what matters and what is important to know. The presentation is so weird that nothing seems to matter, things I think will matter will just pop out of existence anyway. Traversal is terrible. What it wants you to do is so frustrating. You will fight the same 3 enemies for 30 hours. And those are the good ones. Then you'll fight other enemies that aren't good enough to be in any other video game. Like if I'm trying to figure out why my sister is a kaleidoscope, why would I care about fighting generic mold monsters for 4 hours. I like weird stuff, but I don't think the story played out in any way that was interesting or emotion engaging. And as a game it was frustrating and annoying.

My perfect game for sure. Not since Spider-man on Playstation have I really enjoyed exploring the many details of this games Altered Manhattan. Dylan Faden is such a great protagonist as a redemption from being the previous game's big bad. As the game invents new ways to get around the city and stumble across some really cool easter eggs from previous games like Alan Wake. This is the best iteration of all of Remedy with story telling and throwing all sorts of surprises left and right. This should be the standard of these games, re introduce your abilities from the first have and go ham on new abilities and skills you can choose, change and play. I cannot put down the controller and wanna 100 percent this game and help that poor little doggie get his dragon toy.

I wouldve given it a 10 but there really isnt an absolute 10 or an absolute 0 for that matter. The city is basically a puzzle to figure out more than I care to as I really dont like puzzles, period. This is my first ever review on this site. I am extremely tired of reading terrible people post terrible "reviews" for great games both positive and negative fake dbags who didnt even buy the game. This is a good game if you like one, good games, and two, beat em ups, and three, weird disjointed storytelling. They do try to cram a lot of lore backstory in notes lying around to read which I just cant stop and do. If you do not like what you see in gameplay videos, just dont buy the game. Save your money and keep playing the same game you think is good. Combat is great, boss battles can be frustrating but always a spectacle and some wtf is that moments. This is a metroidvania thru and thru like Control was. Remedy is a good studio that makes good, creative games and I am more than happy to support this studio. The gaming world would be so much worse off without this studio cooking.

An Absolute Masterpiece that left me speechless. It is a stunning, mind-bending, supernatural game that shows its brilliance through the weirdness and reality-warping of the world built by Remedy. The creativity here clearly had no shackles since the world, bosses, and narrative were able to go in places that I would've never even fathomed of seeing, which kept me at the edge of my seat. For me this is such a huge upgrade over CONTROL (2019), since it practically does everything better.

The best game I’ve played this year. An incredible sequel that’s absolutely impossible to put down. Remedy is at the top of their game once again — truly the best!

Just when I thought a few games had raised the bar this year, along comes Control Resonant. The story, tone and atmosphere, the Inception-style world, and the relentless combat and abilities are all packed with detail and crafted to perfection. The immersion is something special, that's hard to pull off. Dylan's character didn't grab me straight away but once I understood him, his quiet, fragile mental state made everything hit harder. He may lack presence but his forms and abilities don't and the art style is stunning. Control Resonant is an obvious GOTY contender.

Review: Control Resonant is a successful and substantial evolution of the original game. Remedy Entertainment has delivered a strong sequel with a brand new world, refined gameplay, and a highly accessible narrative.
Visuals and Technology: The lighting implementation stands out as a major technical achievement. Playing on a modern system with an RTX 5070 Ti, the path tracing looks exceptional and runs flawlessly. There is a noticeable compromise regarding the overall texture quality and facial fidelity. Compared to Alan Wake 2, the character faces show less detail, which represents a slight visual step back. Narrative and Gameplay: The story is the most direct and understandable narrative from Remedy since Quantum Break. The plot is clear from the beginning and can be grasped without hours of supplemental explanations. The focus remains strictly on the immediate Control universe. Elements of the broader Remedy universe are absent for now, leaving potential crossover events for future expansions. The gameplay introduces entirely new mechanics that make the title a true step forward rather than a simple repetition of the first game.
Verdict: If Alan Wake 2 is a 9 out of 10, Control Resonant earns a solid 8 to 8.5 and serves as a strong Game of the Year contender. Remedy continues to deliver high quality experiences. A sequel to Quantum Break would be highly welcome as a future project.

Absolute entertainment! Oozes with creativity, sound design. Surpasses Elden Ring in terms of sense of exploration. Combat is probably the finnest and most polished I have experienced. No janky ness anywhere. I don't think anything is topping Control Resonant!

I finished Control Resonant, and this time it feels like Remedy took a major step backwards compared to the first Control and Alan Wake **** story takes way too long to get going, and the combat has almost no impact or weight to it. The pseudo-open world feels completely unnecessary, and most of the side quests are incredibly dull. Usually, the only interesting parts are the beginning, when you first pick up the quest, and the ending, when you finally turn it in. Everything in between is mostly **** enemies are basically damage sponges. Even with damage turned all the way up to 500%, some of them still refuse to die quickly. And considering that almost everyone I know ended up increasing the damage multiplier, I think that says a lot about how badly Remedy missed the mark with the combat.I also really disliked the story itself because, in many ways, it feels like a complete copy of the first Control. A lot of things are explained to you as if you’re hearing about them for the first time, while some of the rules established in the original game are simply ignored. Sure, seven years have passed, but you literally have a recap of the first game in the main menu. Put that information there instead of making returning players sit through the same explanations **** I almost forgot about the Resonant bosses.Visually, they’re absolutely gorgeous. Stylish, creative, and beautifully designed. But the developers forgot one important thing: I came here to PLAY a game, not just admire the artwork.Almost every boss fight is boring, tedious, and basically comes down to mindlessly chipping away at a huge health bar. It was just one disappointment after another, which is especially impressive considering I wasn’t even expecting much from the game in the first place. What I did like:— Some of the ideas in the main story missions are genuinely great and even unexpected. I can’t really say more without getting into spoilers.— The art direction is fantastic. The way everything comes together visually is probably the strongest part of the game. At times, it feels like you’ve stepped straight into Inception.— There are a few genuinely fun side quests. They’re mostly just silly little stories, but it was nice to see the game loosen up occasionally.— Interestingly, pretty much all of my favorite locations and missions were either linear or relatively small.Overall, Control Resonant looks incredible and has some genuinely creative moments, but underneath all of that style is a game that feels bloated, repetitive, and much less satisfying to actually play than Remedy’s previous titles.

A seriously ambitious sequel that I was anxious about, but now I feel stupid for ever doubting Remedy. The presentation, atmosphere, and bizarre setpieces are incredible. Combat is probably the so-so part. Enemies can feel overly spongey and hit ridiculously hard in the first few hours, only for you to be taking them down within seconds by the last stretch. Still, Remedy's willingness to throw genuinely weird, experimental sequences at you carries it. It's not as instantly cohesive as the first Control, but it's far more ambitious, and when it works, there's really nothing else like it.

Resonant is easily one of the best games of the year. Starting with the technical side, which is absolutely top-notch, the story and the way it’s told are incredible, further expanding the wonderful universe Remedy has created. The combat system is also a real gem: while it may seem fairly simple at first, it’s actually full of nuances and mechanics that take a lot of time to learn and truly master in order to use it to its full potential. It really is an amazing gam

As a fan of the first Control game, this is an absolutely incredible step up from its predecessor! The world building and storytelling are truly fantastic, I found myself wanting to find every secret and explore every corner of Manhattan. The performances and chemistry between characters is impressive, the combat is so satisfying and the soundtrack is great, and it’s left me wanting more. I can’t wait to play again when photo mode is available as there were so many jaw dropping visual moments in boss fights and jumping from the streets to the rooftops that I can’t wait to capture. I crave more from Remedy already and I hope this game gets the love it absolutely deserves.

It's absolutely stunning. Artists and poets made this game. The game believes that you can overcome obstacles without handholding. Technically for it was flawless from day 0. With regular jaw drops I was completely mesmerised. Yes, there are some wrinkles in combat, exploration and characters but for me it didn't matter at all. The game made me a Remedy fan. Just wow.

Beautiful game. Control Resonant kept surprising me with stunning visuals and level design over and over again, I think to myself it can’t get any better, but it does repeatedly, the combat is fun and dynamically evolves throughout the game keeping combat fresh throughout most of the game, and the way it handles combat encounters where it’s you vs the heavy enemies, and the light enemies are there as a hindrance but also a helpful tool to easily regain health and power as well as a means to reliably gain dominance, and with the abilities you attain throught the game the combat dynamic between both light and heavy types keeps the game from being stale throughout. The story is wonderfully done and really amazing at some points in the story. It expands on some points from the first game whilst also being a story of its own with Dylan and the new and evolving world around him. The minimap also, it might be my favorite minimap I’ve ever seen it’s so well designed and tells you all you need to know in such a nice minimalistic way that it’s even useful and effective in combat. The sidequests all feel unique in their own way. The zone progression system is a unique take on the classic leveling system. Although my one complaint is that you can’t turn off a specific filter on one of the end game segments, I was getting motion sick. Or if there was an option I couldn’t find it. And besides a few obscure bugs the game feels really polished my PS5 ran smoothly throughout the whole game when playing on Quality mode. I do wish sometime the “board” subtitles lasted a bit longer or have a voice history where you can go back and see what people said. Overall a fun and beautiful game with few flaws that consistently broke my expectations and a worthwhile reason to get into the series.

There's nothing like it, absolutely incredible experience throughout. Combat ar first feels a bit spammy but once you get the build right, it flows like wind on corn field. Snappy, fluid, satisfaction is at peak. Game needs a bit of thinking but if you are here for it, there is absolutely nothing like it. And the looks ridiculously good and with such world building the ride is transcendental. Probably the best game ever created period!

Absolutely mindblown by the creative prowess and Remedy’s ability to keep pushing the boundaries of this medium of storytelling! Remedy is my favorite studio, and with this game, they’ve proven exactly why.Resonant is such a bold direction for an already trippy game from 2019, and seeing them amp up the RCU with Dylan Faden is genuinely something to admire.GOTY for me.

Overall, the game falls short of the Jesse version in terms of story and combat enjoyment; it also suffers from repetitive missions and ramped-up difficulty, as if the studio has shifted toward a "Souls-like" approach.

Everything is great except fighting (well that’s majority of the game, and it is beyond terrible). Monsters don’t die and you get finger fatigue from pressing the same square button over over and over again. As the game progress monsters become impossible to kill, you just keep hitting them and guess what you start the die. Again and again for nor reason. Flying objects pass near you but you die. Something explodes some where you die. In close areas you don’t have much chance to see what hit you or not. So many problems. Some people will say skill issue, no. I loved Soros for example but you knew how to navigate through hell there, here game leave you desperate .

With Control being one of my favourite games ever and third person shooters being my favourite genre, I was worried Remedy wouldn’t be able to reach the same heights for me with their melee focused sequel. I was wrong to ever doubt them: the combat is extremely satisfying, the level design is genuinely mind boggling, the characters are amazingly realised with great character arcs, and the writing is as weird and fascinating as ever. If you’re on the fence about trying Control Resonant or any Remedy game, please give them a shot, they are one of the last remaining truly innovative studios and need the financial succes to remain independent in order to deliver masterpieces like this without having their creativity diluted by shareholders who only care about games as a product, maximising profits by appealing to the masses.

Sempre diferente e sempre fantástico ver o trabalho da remedy. O desenho do mundo torna esse jogo em algo único e mesmo as mecânicas conhecidas servem a propósitos interessantes e cativantes.
