CONTROL Resonant6
Sep 30, 2026
I finished Control Resonant, and this time it feels like Remedy took a major step backwards compared to the first Control and Alan Wake **** story takes way too long to get going, and the combat has almost no impact or weight to it. The pseudo-open world feels completely unnecessary, and most of the side quests are incredibly dull. Usually, the only interesting parts are the beginning, when you first pick up the quest, and the ending, when you finally turn it in. Everything in between is mostly **** enemies are basically damage sponges. Even with damage turned all the way up to 500%, some of them still refuse to die quickly. And considering that almost everyone I know ended up increasing the damage multiplier, I think that says a lot about how badly Remedy missed the mark with the combat.I also really disliked the story itself because, in many ways, it feels like a complete copy of the first Control. A lot of things are explained to you as if you’re hearing about them for the first time, while some of the rules established in the original game are simply ignored. Sure, seven years have passed, but you literally have a recap of the first game in the main menu. Put that information there instead of making returning players sit through the same explanations **** I almost forgot about the Resonant bosses.Visually, they’re absolutely gorgeous. Stylish, creative, and beautifully designed. But the developers forgot one important thing: I came here to PLAY a game, not just admire the artwork.Almost every boss fight is boring, tedious, and basically comes down to mindlessly chipping away at a huge health bar. It was just one disappointment after another, which is especially impressive considering I wasn’t even expecting much from the game in the first place. What I did like:— Some of the ideas in the main story missions are genuinely great and even unexpected. I can’t really say more without getting into spoilers.— The art direction is fantastic. The way everything comes together visually is probably the strongest part of the game. At times, it feels like you’ve stepped straight into Inception.— There are a few genuinely fun side quests. They’re mostly just silly little stories, but it was nice to see the game loosen up occasionally.— Interestingly, pretty much all of my favorite locations and missions were either linear or relatively small.Overall, Control Resonant looks incredible and has some genuinely creative moments, but underneath all of that style is a game that feels bloated, repetitive, and much less satisfying to actually play than Remedy’s previous titles.

I've never played Final Fantasy and I really liked it. Now I want to go through other parts as well.

Why are you all waiting for some kind of game in your head? All I knew about the game was what was shown in the first trailer and I didn't try to figure out what would be in the game. And on this I got colossal impressions, I am absolutely satisfied.
