Confidential Mission (2000)

Terrific visuals, excellent gameplay features, and lots of style will have Dreamcast "agents" uncovering the secrets of Confidential Mission and loving every minute of it.

Although the length is a bit disappointing, "Another World" and the Agent Academy do help keep things interesting beyond the (very fun) main game.

You really can’t get more bang for your buck with Confidential Mission. If you like playing super spy and shooting up bad guys, this one’s for you.

If you enjoyed "Virtua Cop" or "HOTD" in the past, and have $20 and a light gun to spare..."Confidential Mission" is your next trip down the videogame aisle. It's as simple as that.

Will be warmly received by those jonesin’ for a hit of simulated gunplay mayhem. For the rest of us, it’s a worth a shot then best forgot.

Unfortunately, Hitmaker's quirky sense of style and revising of existing formulas are all but absent from Confidential Mission, though it's doubtful these things could've saved the game from its well-worn premise.

Nobody makes lightgun shooters quite like Sega. But while this would have you happily pumping in the pound coins at the arcade, it doesn't have the longevity to make it an essential home purchase.
