Castle of Shikigami
A decent game. Better graphics and sound would have really helped the game to feel a lot more modern and be enjoyable to a wider audience.
No, Mobile Light Force 2”doesn’t come anywhere near the overhead 2D shooting perfection that is Treasure’s one-two hit combination of “Ikaruga” (GameCube) and “Radiant Silvergun” (Sega Saturn).
With its kickin' mid-'90s visuals, unintelligible voice samples, and total lack of coherence, Mobile Light Force 2 is the videogame equivalent of a cheesy, late-night kung fu flick.

In the course of it's five levels, which are each separated into three sub-levels, MLF 2 provides the player with an excellent gameplay experience that tests their reflexes quite well. Although it cannot be compared to more hardcore shooters like "Zero Gunner 2" or "Mars Matrix," it's still a pretty good shooter.

While the animation isn't bad, what is being animated is old-school graphics which are very out of place on the PS2. It looks a bit like that old game Quix, where you had to draw lines to trap the goblin within 25-per-cent of the screen.

Wrapping up this stellar package is slowdown, something inexcusable for a game comprised of 2D graphics on a 128-bit system, unintelligible speech that sounds like someone pressing the slow motion button on a cassette recording, and the typical butterflies with giant baby heads and large alien brains as bosses.
