A brilliant, addictive shooter, Blazing Star might have a few niggles, but they're made up for with bombast and bullets.

If you like side-scrolling shooters and missed this one in 1998, give this faithful port a go. Just beware that the control scheme brings complications.

The game can feel like it's playing itself, and the confusion isn't helped by graphics which are considerably south of beautiful.

Blazing Star is more notable for its poor English translation than its gameplay. The best thing about it is that it supports the iCade.
