If you're not into competition, the Onslaught Mode isn't exactly what I call necessary. But for all the other guys, squad fighting at its best, time attack and leaderboards await you.

A worth addition if you are a real BF BC 2 fan, but keep in mind that it's expensive for what it's giving to players.

Based on our experience and challenge that is on offer with Onslaught mode, we'd most certainly be happy to recommend Onslaught mode for Bad Company 2 veterans, as there's enough replay value to warrant the price tag, and with new maps on the horizon Onslaught will undoubtedly be a mode to revisit in the future.

Onslaught offers basically the same multiplayer experience you've been playing for months. If you don't like playing against human opponents and if you're looking for a co-op mode against bots, this DLC gives you 4 maps to beat. It should have been free for VIP code owners, though.

The new Onslaught mode brings a lot of co-op fun but does not have enough replay value. It's best to save your money for a better expansion pack.

Bad Company 2 remains a superb shooter (if still rather borked by that last patch), but having gorged on it for three months we need something more interesting than second-hand spaghetti bolognese if we're expected to pick up the tab.

Onslaught mode is about survival skill and choosing your weaponry careful enough for each of the 4 new missions added in this DLC. The maps themselves are from the multiplayer albeit set at different times of day. They provide a fun challenge with friends as you work together against some very clever AI who know how to use their kit fully to their advantage and their team mates. All maps also vary in difficulty allowing you to pick some of the harder ones if you need more practice for online... The honeymoon ends there though Ladies and Gents. That very clever aforementioned AI will indeed use its equipment well, but they all seem to love venturing into an open area and standing there all game until you pick them off. Ruining all that it has worked so hard to create. The AI will become annoying most of the time with their infinite respawns and shooting you whilst they are on their 'chutes still as they just enter the field! Next on the agenda is its addictiveness. It is simply non-existent. Once you have finished these levels you probably won't ever play them again. That is a problem when a piece of DLC which is so minimal in content costs so much in the first place! We suggest you wait for the Vietnam expansion later on this year instead which looks a lot better value for money and offers so much more!
