This game has its positives and negatives. The art style is top notch which I'm sure you can find loads of images of on google. This isn't a deck builder like slay the spire that has absolutely 0 story,. I'd say 70^ of the time you'll be listening to characters banter and watching cut scenes of the main story. The first half introduces the universe, factions and history and is spent on recruiting your crew/pilots. he characters all get along and are most are extremely likeable with a few that are just so boring that you'll never think about them after beating the game ever again. The story tries to tell a unique and interesting scifi space story with cool robots which it kind of succeeds at but the devs clearly wanted to flood this game with multiple love stories that derailed the core story massively for me. Keep in mind that this is definitely a LGTBQ+ game which I didn't realize before playing. The first half the gayness is mild but noticeable but by the 2nd half every damn scene of every damn planet is about some gay relationship not just the lead characters but the entire damn ship. I kid you not at least 50% of the cast is gay in this game and the other 50% are probably gay too but you just don't see their love life on screen. This is 50% gay dating sim 50% card battler. Btw keep in mind once you pick cards you can't take them out of your deck which I've seen a lot of people complain about on the steam forums. That part doesn't bother me so much as that was the way the game was designed to be played I just wish that was explained to you during the tutorial as I was draftin cards (recruiting pilots) solely to learn the characters back story but it ended up bloating my deck. It doesn't really matter though because 9/10 fights are still really easy even on the hardest difficulty. I think the devs need to tweak the difficulty by maybe giving each enemy 1-2 extra health or 1 extra damage to ratchet up the difficulty a big. Only a handful of fights in the 20 hours I played gave me any trouble. You can draft any pilots without consideration for synergies and probably still win but when synergies do happen they're fun and rewarding. This game will not hook you like slay the spire or monster train. This game does not compare in fun factor to either of those but its fun enough to play for a weekend and never pick up again at least until some DLC releases. Mid deck builder, with mild amounts of fun but nothing to write home about.
