AirForce Delta Strike

Its biggest flaw is that the dogfights that are nominally its focus are satisfying and will keep you engaged, but escort, bombing, and recon missions are a lot more fun.

It has its ups and downs, but the goods outweigh the bads in the very end.

It lacks multiplayer, so long-term playability is questionable, but with 60 missions, 130+ planes, and an interesting story to work through, you’ll be spending a good, long, time with this game.

The AirForce Delta series has always been of middling quality and has never really been able to live up to its contemporaries, such as "Ace Combat" and "Lethal Skies," and Strike does little to buck that trend.

Not bad but not great, it's a generally middle of the road air combat action piece that offers a nice list of options, nice visuals, and powerful sound,... but with the uninspired nature of its flight engine and mediocrity of level design don't do much for it in the long run.

The missions themselves are plenty fun, but they're nothing that "Ace Combat" hasn't done better and more often. It's a similar story for the reasonably tight controls and physics: good, but nothing exceptional. [Mar 2004, p.98]
