Agatha Knife, is a product of good quality but despite its nice graphic design and hilarious situations we feel that the game could have given a little more of itself.

Agatha Knife is well written, funny and unique. The gameplay doesn’t take the genre to new heights, but it does tick all of the boxes that it needed to, to ensure that the adventure remains fresh and engaging throughout. Group this with the fitting soundtrack and the colorful hand-crafted visuals, and there’s little reason to dislike what’s on offer outside of its potentially touchy controversial subject material.

The point-and-click genre is very underrated in my opinion and to say I’ve enjoyed many titles in this genre over the years would be a massive understatement, so as you can imagine I was eager to get to grips with Agatha Knife. Thankfully it tickled my fancy from the get go and despite it not being the best point-and-click game I’ve ever played before I still think it’s a very good addition to the genre. Without a doubt the most important aspect in a game like this is its story, and thankfully its been done to perfection. There is a dark humour throughout the game and the humour is actually funny, which is great. Another thing that also makes the story stand out are the characters and the world in which the characters are in. The characters are very charming and the world is interesting at every turn, which definitely keeps things fun and enjoyable for longer. This is very important because the gameplay can become a little reptetive at times and in my opinion that’s mainly down to the lack of variety the gameplay has. You will also have to deal with quite a lot of backtracking as you progress through the game which can be a little annoying at times but thankfully you get past this annoyance because the puzzles along the way are actually pretty decent. The puzzles may not be the most challenging you will ever play, but I enjoyed this aspect because there’s nothing worse than getting stuck on a frustrating puzzle. The puzzles also have quite a lot of variety to them as well and this makes them mean a lot more when it comes to the story, which is great in my opinion. Obviously in order to keep the puzzles fluid you have to have good controls and thankfully the controls that have been implemented are great. Everything remains fluid and responsive with the controls at all times so you won’t get annoyed by anything here. Something that really surprised me with this game was the presentation side of things. Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen better in this genre but there’s just something about the game that I find to be unique. Visually the game has a great look to it and I loved the comic style they went with and in a way this style combines with the sound design really well giving the game quite a lot of charm. At the end of the day if you’re a fan of these types of game’s then I thoroughly recommend that you give Agatha Knife a try. Don’t get me wrong it does have a few shortcomings and it doesn’t offer anything new than the other game’s in the genre, but there’s just something about the game that kept **** me in and for that reason it gets a thumbs up from me.

Agatha Knife is a strange game. It is sometimes simple and a tad shallow, it’ll offend some and irritate others. It does nothing new for the Point and Click adventure game. But the further I delved, the stronger my resolve to see its conclusion. I cared about Agatha and the struggles she faced. I can’t remember the last time I sniggered so much at a video game.

An interesting point & Click adventure that manages to entertain while it lasts, due its low difficulty and limited length.
