I would be the last to make a case for TCG Card Game Shop Simulator being polished. Even after months in Game Preview, it’s still got some raggedy edges. But the game loop is so ridiculously addictive, and pulling cards from booster packs has always been my personal kryptonite, and it's represented beautifully here.

The solid foundations of the first Graveyard Keeper are built upon in Graveyard Keeper 2. Sometimes things are copied almost identically, and other times the new elements don’t feel groundbreaking enough. But what is apparent is that this is much more streamlined and accessible.

I like my sokoban to get me jabbing the Undo and Retry buttons at least a few times per level. In Runes Quest, I’m not sure I jabbed them even once.

Shelldiver may look like a swimming or fishing sim, but it’s mostly a mining game strapped to the most overblown, intensely satisfying skill tree you will ever encounter. It tapped into the most addictive and compulsive elements of my personality, and it may well do the same to you.

The Trolley Solution is uniquely entertaining. Pick whichever lever that leads to you purchasing the game.

I’m going to cross my fingers and hope that Endless Rails does so well that more content gets added in the future. For now, Endless Rails is a short-haul journey, rather than long-haul.

My time on the open sea with Seafarer: The Ship Sim was a bit of a mixed bag. I didn’t particularly enjoy sailing the ships. I did, however, like the visuals and, more importantly, the sheer mix of activities on offer. The problem is, it can all become a little tiresome after a while.

It’s beautiful to look at, and the puzzles are some of the best that we’ve played in a sokoban. But when the controls and perspective, plus the lack of an Undo feature, make the experience so painful, there’s nothing Mia’s Journey can do.

Sizeable is a simple but satisfying puzzler which will help you escape the trials and tribulations of modern life, for a short while at least.

THE BATHROOMS has strong atmosphere, some streamer-bating scares and an effective liminal space, but I rarely felt like I was doing anything of interest. I was dabbling with its sandbox, accidentally unlocking endings, and wondering whether there was anything actually meaningful to do or see.
