Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West9

This game is great, and I fail to see why the community is absent. When I got this title originally, it still had a community left, and it was an incredibly fun time! This is one of, if not the, best third person shooters I have ever played.

Team Fortress 22
Apr 6, 2012
Back when gaming was in its glory days, Valve released a title called 'Team Fortress', a game that won my heart and was incredibly fun in every aspect (it still is). In 2007, Valve released 'Team Fortress 2', which was enjoyable to a certain point. Several weapons that have been added, and several "class balance" aspects have made this game horribly unbalanced. It's more of an arcade-style shooter than Team Fortress Classic, and with that it finds flaws. Compared to Nuclear Dawn, where different classes have health but it remains balanced, Team Fortress 2 goes about it differently. Some classes compared to others, despite how enjoyable their concept may be, has about the strength of an infant by comparison, and are quickly gunned down. This game used to be decent, but valve has destroyed it over the years. 2/10.

Dino D-Day10

This game is right up there with my all time favorite first person shooters. I have no idea why it has scored so low, because it's awesome. People who simply call it a poorly done day of defeat mod, I doubt have even played it. The game is incredible, guns are balanced and, unlike a lot of FPSes, they actually do damage. Nothing is overpowered if you get the feel of the game, and it's absolutely a game that will give hours and hours of laughter. My only gripe is that the community is nonexistent, which saddens me greatly, as this game is absolutely worth your time.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim4
Apr 6, 2012
It has some interesting concepts, but it's absolutely overhyped. Its bugs that prohibit gameplay keep it from being more than a 4/10. Bethesda has a long track record of bugs, and Skyrim is absolutely no exception. This is, in no way, worth $60 for a short game that offers little replayability, and very little enjoyment due to bugs and glitches.

Mount & Blade: Warband3

3/10 for the concept, the hitboxes are so terrible in this game that you cannot even hit anyone effectively. Several times I have shot arrows going straight through people with them taking zero damage. It's so buggy, and it doesn't seem like the developers intend on fixing the hitbox horrors. I wish a game like this existed with a similar concept but with proper execution.

Fallout: New Vegas0

Bethesda lives up to their reputation for bugs in this one (especially). It's so buggy that it won't even launch on my DX11 system with an i7. I've checked every single fix they've listed online, and nothing has helped; I've even updated my drivers. It opens, and then immediately crashes, and I'm not the only one with this problem. 0/10.

Killing Floor8

8/10 for bugs, but elsewise this is the best zombie game I have ever played. It's simple in design, as there are waves of zombies that come and you and your buddies have to hold out until the patriarch, and then defeat him. The way everything meshes together makes an awesome game, but as I said before, I cannot rate it 10/10 due to bugs. It's an awesome game though, and I highly recommend it.

Gettysburg: Armored Warfare1
Apr 6, 2012
This is quite possibly the worst game I have ever played. The developer even said "you get what you pay for", well, I beg to differ. I didn't pay for a pre-alpha game (as this one appears to be). It claims to be a strategy game with many features virtually nonexistent, the worst animations I've ever seen, and the worst server-side lag I've ever seen. The developer keeps making excuses for the endless flaws; this is a game you do not want to buy. The concept was brilliant, but the design and development was very sloppy. 1/10 for the concept.

Nuclear Dawn10
Apr 6, 2012
My favorite FPS of all time. It's an incredible team based FPS with strategical elements. When other games fail on hitboxes and gun damage/accuracy balance, Nuclear Dawn prevails. This is the first game I've played that actually depicts shotguns properly, and even the sidearm is effective. Everything is balanced, and no class is overpowered when pitted against other classes. The exo isn't even overpowered with the incredible amount of health he has, because bullets in Nuclear Dawn actually do damage. I've loved this game since the beta and I likely always will.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad10
Sep 15, 2011
This is by far the best first person shooter out there. Never before has there been a first person shooter so detailed, I mean: you can even change between the scope or iron sights while sniping, so you aren't stuck with the typical issue in games while playing as a sniper profession where you cannot effectively take out targets close range. I enjoyed how the mechanics worked in the single player campaign. The mechanics, without giving anything away, allow for full immersion into the perspective of a soldier, where: you are terrified, you are going to think tactically, and you are going to struggle to capture a location. Tripwire also did a wonderful job with making the game only cost around $30 if you already owned Red Orchestra 1 in the pre-order, and then $40 as the normal game's cost. The polygon counts are high, the game is beautiful, the combat features are vast and plentiful, the game has girth to it that every other FPS seems to lack.
