The day has come when EA has finally decided to make video games like mobile games. I don't want my video games to be like the mobile games and I'm sure you don't too. Locking progression behind a loot boxes is the worst idea. Either go through a crappy rng to progress and "hope" you get something good, or pay to open more loot boxes and "hope" you get something good. This is wrong. Speak with your wallet. Do not support this game. If you must buy this game... buy it used of the poor sap who bought it new so that at least the money is going to that person only.

The Evil Within 28
Nov 8, 2017
The Evil Within 2 is a great sequel to the first The Evil Within. If your a fan of the original than you'll enjoy this one and people that want to jump into this one without playing the first one can definitely do so as it does a great job of explaining the people and what's going on. The game has a mix of small open world and linear gameplay but it transitions well and doesn't feel awkward. The game plays nice and there wasn't any major bugs or glitches that hinder the game so the game felt really polished. Part of the reason I'm giving it an 8 and not higher is because this game feels less scary than the first one mostly because of the open world. It's not that scary being chased by a monster when you got a big place to run around in. However the game does have it's moments of scares. One thing that I liked about The Evil Within 2 compared to the first one is the better story. The last one was good but you were confused throughout the whole game on what's going on and at the end you were left wondering what were the ties between the protagonist and the people inside STEM. In this one, the story ties everything together nicely. You find out why you were the one to be affected by the events and why you go back in and your ties to the other characters in the game like Kidman. The game was pretty lengthy. It took me about 20 hours of playing in regular mode and thoroughly searching the area for hidden objects to beat the game (and I didn't even find everything). There is new game plus after you beat it to keep playing with all your inventory from the previous save. I would recommend that if your a veteran of the series and horror games in general to play in harder difficulty as normal just felt easy. There is also stealth in the game. You can hide from enemies and even do stealth kills. This actually ended up being my main method of taken down the regular baddies since It conserves ammo. The stealth is done really well and you don't feel screwed were your attempting to sneak up on an enemy and they just turn around and spot you for no reason. Overall I feel this is a solid game for the money. The story is interesting and the game lengthy enough to warrant the full price. The game feels nicely polished and the graphics are really good.

The Witcher 3 is hands down one of the best, if not the best RPG of all the. The plays so smooth and great it makes me wonder how loading times are minimal but CD project red managed to do it and I commend them. The story... Oh man it is genius and superb. If your a story driven person like I am then you will not be disappointed. Your in a big open beautiful world with a life of it's own and packed with missions and people that need monsters killed. This game is jam packed with content so you'll have plenty to do. Put in over 100 hours just on my first playthrough. I know most people just like to throw out 10 and 0 on scores but this game is one of the rare few games that actually deserves a 10/10.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Online9
Aug 12, 2016
If you like playing pokemon cards then you'll love pokemon tcg online. It's pretty much the card game but online. Plain and simple. Of course because it's online it has a tiny bit more regulations but it's only to help keep the game balance. The only bad thing would be it's matchmaking. Matchmaking pairs you up with anybody so if your new to the game you might end up playing a long time player who will have better cards. Other than that the game is great and completely free which is what makes the game so much better. There's a single player where you play against the AI and can earn booster packs or play against real people and earn rewards there as well. You earn coins in the game that you can use in the shop to buy booster packs and theme decks. They have event which act like mini tournaments giving you a chance to win even more rewards. The other cool thing is if your a pokemon card collector and still buy pokemon cards, the pokemon packs come with a code you can put into the game so you can use in the online game. Note that this is a review is of this time I'm posting it. Does not reflect what the state of the game was when it launched as I did not play it at launch.

Immersion is a great way to describe this game. The story is superb and voice acting is very well done were you actually care about the characters. Plus there's zombies. The game really has the post apocalyptic feel to with the way you have to scrounge for supplies and your given so few supplies that it's really about getting through parts with the few supplies you have and making them count. It has gotten great reviews and for good reason. Sony made a great game for the PS3 especially with the PS4 that arrived a few weeks after they managed to make a game that will make players keep playing their PS3s instead.

Cities: Skylines10
Jun 10, 2015
Basically just like Simcity but without the stupid DRM or bugs that it had like: -For the first part It works. Anyone who bought Simcity knows the launch woes it had and was unplayable for a week and then the bugs it had for a very long time(don't know if they ever got fixed and I played it for half a year on and off) -Offline gameplay I mean seriously who in EA thought it was a good idea to make it always online. Now it would be nice if paradox had some multiplayer gameplay but at least you can always play without worrying about your internet connection. -Modding support. EA swore up and down that Simcity couldn't be played offline only to be caught redhanded when some modders found a way to do it but of course EA put a stop to that which only goes to show the love that EA has for modders. Paradox on the other understands that modders help the game and it's exactly what it does. Heck I doubt there is a person out there playing cities skylines without mods. -Bigger maps. I like how they set it up where you start small and then grow big and grow big by buying lands which adds to the size of land you already have. and if you want to grow bigger there's a mod for that too. For the most part it's your basic simcity game that works and plays well and hopefully Paradox adds on to the game some cool features but if not there are always the modders out there working to make the game better which by the way a huge thanks to them for their work. This game is a must buy for any city simulator fan and those wanting to try it out. 10/10 because it works and you get your moneys worth at 30$ or more if you want the deluxe edition.

Dragon Age: Inquisition8
Feb 11, 2015
Dragon age is a great example of a sequel. It has a wealth of content with an interesting story plus the addition of crafting. The game does have it's problem ranging from big to minor. I unfortunately encountered a bug keeping me from progressing after traveling to the future but looking at the forums ended up finding a way to make it work which was pretty much to load a previous save file and try again. It was the same for a Sera only mission and probably many other missions as well. If you do manage to overlook these problems the game looks great and plays great. Some may complain about the combat but to be fair, Dragon age never had an interesting combat to begin with though I feel this combat in DAI is the best one yet as you can do nice combos though the tactics could've been better like in DAO. I gave it an 8 for how great the game is and took out 2 points for the problems it has and the unpolished multiplayer which is most likely a result from putting it in the game the last minute.

I played the single player mostly on PC but I did play some single player on PS4 and all my multiplayer on PS4. Single player wise it's a great game with a wealth of content, crafting, interesting story, and great visuals. The multiplayer is ok though. Apart from all the bugs it has the multiplayer can be pretty entertaining though very repetitive. Wouldn't recommend getting this just for multiplayer but if your a dragon age fan or like RPGs then I highly recommend this game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare5

CoD with jetpacks. Really that's all there is. The same CoD but now people are double jumping around acting like it's new and exciting denying that Titanfall did it first. Either way my gripe is the same. Player hosting. Same issues of weird bullets registering because Activision and their partners don't want to upgrade the gameplay so it can play better since they're making millions already. Exo survival is garbage. I have to pick between light, heavy, or recon and they can't use each others gun. So going light keeps you from the light heavymachines and going heavy means you can't pick assualt rifles or SMG. Modern Warfare lets you unlock anything in their survival mode. It just feels like a step backwards. Then there's the whole zombie DLC thing which at first was a annoyed that players have to dish out more cash for zombies but I thought, maybe the whole DLC will just focus on zombies. Nope. 1 freaking map for zombies and the rest for multiplayer in which I always felt wasting money for map packs was a waste. And for those of you saying that it's not the same developer that does zombies hence why it's "ok" that they are doing this know that Activision has overall control and anyone of them can make a zombie mode. Just because one is notorious for it doesn't make it ok for the other attempting it to charge people ridiculous amounts for what's always been in the game. Really if you want better games it's better to not pre-order and wait to see how the game is. Make developers realize that us players want better quality in our games. At least our 60$ worth. Anyways back on topic. It's CoD. You'll get the same enjoying playing the prior prior CoD (since ghost was crap) as AW so I would save your money and buy something better or buy it at a really big discount.

Clash of Clans9
Jan 7, 2015
I don't play many if any mobile games but this game has me hooked. The game is simple: Build your village, make troops and attack others. Join a clan to have clan battles (hence the name.) Only con would have to be the campaign as it gets ridiculous having to face off against very high level defenses very early in the game. Other than that it's a fun and addictive game with great visuals and even better with friends.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U10

Flawless. If there is something wrong with this game; I haven't found it. A nice big roster of players. It would have been nice to see more maps but the maps in the game are creative and the best part is how some maps have a final destination version to duke out without hassle in a map other than final destination. Masterpieces are a nice edition to the game letting you demo original games of where some of these characters where first introduced and if you can even buy them unlocking the full version. Characters are balanced and thanks god they got rid of the random tripping that brawl had. Overall it's a real sequel to the smash brother games and for those remember the good old Gamecube days playing melee, Nintendo introduced the Gamecube adapter letting you hook up your original Gamecube controller to play. Unfortunately they're mostly sold out but it goes to show how many people want them.

Ubisoft gave it a good shot at the MMO driving game but ultimately it came out short of good. I'll start with the cons: Cop chases ****- It's understandable that the cops are going to catch up to you but the way the cops move is too over the top. Not only do they catch up to you quick but they'll get in front of you and brake to stop you and you don't want that to happen. Why? Because they are like tanks. Crashing into them is like crashing into a wall and the quickest way to get busted. That **** because the best part of car chases is causing mayhem but instead you get overpowered cops that aren't fun at all. Don't get me wrong, you can outrun them but again not very fun. The AI ****- It's not about what kind of car you have but the difficulty level. If it says it's impossible to beat it WILL BE impossible to beat even for your friend in his maxed out car trying to help you. Also, just like the cops they tend to act ridiculous in missions like the takedown ones which brings me to my next point; Half the missions ****- If it ain't your old fashion race then it's going to ****. Takedown missions which should be the best end up **** since; 1) they drive incredibly fast. There is a mission where you have to take down a bus. Good Luck trying to catch up. 2) You cannot use the environment to take down your opponent. Crash him into a wall, car, tree, etc. your opponent will take no damage other than the hit you gave him. There are other like the one where you have to collect certain things which tend to be frustrating trying to navigate on hills and dirt. For the most part most missions you won't look forward to half of these missions and the other ones are just ok. RNG- Yes it's in the game. Wouldn't be an MMO if it wasn't though this ain't really an MMO. Once you get to max level (50) you unlock the ability to win platinum parts. The best parts that give you the best stats. The trick is getting the level 50 part as the rewards tend to give you a random level part from 40-50. The worst part though is that there is also a random bonus you get that increases a random stat higher than normal and if your aiming for that level 50 piece with a specific bonus; good luck because you'll be sitting there for hours trying to get that piece if you ever do. Though if your just looking for that level 50 I will admit that this RNG is a little more forgiving than other games (Destiny *cough* *cough*) as there were times that I obtained a level 50 piece in my first try or first 5 tries. Crash cam-I hate it and don't know why they keep putting it. It made sense in some games but here where the focus is just driving (because you can't take down cops... well you can but it ain't fun) it doesn't make sense to have. I'll give them this though; you can press circle to skip the scene but the option to not watch it altogether would've been better since the times it decides to come out is random. There are good parts to this though. Open world- As in the whole US. It is a compressed version of course but still big enough that it will take you a good long while to drive across the map. The MMO aspect of seeing random people is there but plays no part in anything since there isn't any world events for people to do. The scenery is nice even though the landmarks have no description of what's great about the it but it's still nice to drive in familiar territory. Co-op- You can have friends join you in anything which makes the game better because playing with friends is always better. That and the fact that they make some story missions easier like the cop chases as the game chooses one to be the target and the other has to take down the cops to help the friend escape and being able to ram head into cops is nice since it's the only time you can do this without penalty. In races though it can be boring since the AI keeps up with anyone that's in the lead meaning if your max level friend is helping you and you just started you better be comfortable in last place or somewhere down there while your friend does all the work even while your trying to keep up. It's not your fault though its just how the game is. Different specs- This game lets you have a ride ready for any type of terrain. Need a car good on dirt roads? Take out your Dirt spec car. Going to drive over hills? There's your Raid spec car. For asphalt there's street, performance, and circuit. It's nice having a car for different types of terrain but it would've been much better if all cars had all specs. Instead some cars may have only one spec and only few have all specs. That my change though in future updates but for now you'll have to get different cars for each spec. For the rest there is the in-between because I can say equal good and bad things about them. -Customization is so-so. It's there but some specs are really limited in options like the circuit spec but at least they have different vinyls to make your car look different enough. Ran out of space but that's my review.

If you liked RE 4 then you'll like this game. It's basically the same thing but with different story and some slight differences like the ability to burn enemies on the floor. What keeps it from being a 10 is slight awkwardness with the characters or rather Sebastian and Joseph. Minor bugs that take you out of the immersion like enemies can walk through fire so you have to waste a match to set them on fire. Other than the minor stuff though it's still a great game that keeps you interested and enjoyable plus nice scares at the right time.

First off, the basis for me giving it a good score was mainly because the gameplay is spectacularly smooth and since launch I've been able to play with no problems. Now I know not everyones experience may have been as smooth as mine but the majority of people had no issues and best part, no server crashs at launch so all the haters actually got to play before hating right away. One of my biggest gripes in todays games is developers releasing games full of problems and yet some people want to make excuses for them(i.e. BF4) but Destiny works well and the shooting mechanics works beautifully. The reason I didn't give it a 9 or higher was because, yes it does get kind of bland. They put in parts of halo, borderlands. MMO aspect, and multiplayer but each thing seems to be missing some features that would have made this game really stand out. Doesn't mean the game isn't fun and most of the complaints have been from people that I guess weren't expecting to shoot so many things in FPS but if your actually looking for a FPS game and know what a FPS is, then this game will deliver especially when your playing with friends. Lastly, this game is by far not bad enough to be given a 0 score. The haters giving it a 0 are just that, haters. There's no game that really deserves a 0 and this game is one of them. Bungie has released more content for this game for free in a matter of weeks which shows you that they are working on supporting this game and actually have a plan so that they can release content in a timely manner. Overall, I think the game is an 8 for the solid gameplay. Yes there are parts that could have had more stuff added to them but in the end if your nitpicking every part of the game then you actually realize how fun it is especially if you go back to buggy games like CoD and BF4 and then come to this then you'll see what I mean.

This game has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the devs are unwilling to bring the game to its full potential which keeps the game from being good. Apart from the lag and connection issues, and trust me there's plenty of those in this game, my biggest gripe is the poor decision making by the devs. Almost a year ago they decided to implement the counter mechanics unto the PvE side and since then it has been a fail and frustrating every time you play. At one point they where so eager to further increase the deserter penalty that it cause a whole fiasco over something dumb. The last DLC's haven't been that great at all. Legendary membership seems to not be worth it since most of the perks are useless and theirs work around for the restrictions for free and premium members. Overall you can try for free but if you want to play a good MMO then this is not it.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag7
Jan 17, 2014
As an assassin's game it fails but as a pirate game is where it shines. The game has many many flaws that can make the game frustrating and annoying which makes me sad to see since most of these flaws are from prior assassin's games and you would expect them to fix that or make it better. Things like your character constantly doing what you don't want it to do. Fighting onboard a ship is pretty terrible since there are a lot of enemies and targeting **** so you'll be hitting different people that you don't want to hit or worse, something you'll character will be out of combat when enemies are nearby so when you press circle to counter you'll actually put away your swords and get hit. The story is pretty terrible and it's sad to see how instead of the developers fixing what the game was about and improving being an assassin they instead just add something else to it to attract people and hope they ignore all the flaws it has when your doing your assassin thing. Essentally this is AC 3.2. Everything from AC3 is in this but with a few new stuff like diving and hunting sea animals and it greatly improves on the sailing part and what you can do with your ship. As a long fan of the AC series it pain me to see how the developers passion for the game is gone, as you can see from the bad story, and all they care about is making money. It's also evident when you play the game and hint at future installments they may make to further milk the franchise. Other than all negative I put the pirate side like I said is fun. You can upgrade your ship and ship battles are fun. There are also legendary ships you can tackle but unfortunately you get nothing good out of them other than bragging rights. I wish they would've just made this a stand alone pirate game and made a separate Assassin's creed game that's actually good than we would've gone two great games and the company would've made lost of money since there is a lot of potential when your acting as a pirate. Overall if you want a game that gives you plenty to do than this game might be for you if your into pirates. If you want a good story that continues the series then you'll be disapointed if you pick up this game.

Call of Duty: Ghosts5
Jan 17, 2014
If you played prior CoD then you know what to expect. The developers way of innovating the game is by making some cosmetic changes to the game like the way you do your loadout. The single player is garbage of course so no point talking about that. Multiplayer is the same. One of my biggest gripes about prior CoD games was player hosting and I thought with their new half server half hosting that it would be better but sadly it isn't. The good news is that you rarely have to suffer from host migrating that would constantly interrupt game matches. The bad is that it doesn't play smooth. Bullets take a while to register and at times it can get laggy, probably because of the half player hosting. You'll find often times you'll be dead before feeling any of the bullets hitting you. The maps are horrible. Squad modes is not that great. Extinction on the other hand is fun. Unfortunately there's not much to it and it would've been nice if instead of the useless squad modes that the developers spend more time making either more maps or something to extinction. Extinction is the only fun part about CoD ghost and saying I would not recommend anyone pay 60$ for the game. If you can find it for cheap and you have plenty of friends that play then it might be worth getting if your a fan but if you want a good FPS then steer clear of this game.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it, the story is amazing. At first it starts out regular with a simple mission but then it gets more complex but in the end the story comes full circle and answers plenty of answers you had. Though there are still some questions you may have at the end, it at least answers and hits on all the main points. By the end of the game I was mind blown at what had happened. The gameplay is good. It plays smooth as a shooter. The only problem I had that kept me from giving it a perfect score is how boring it got looking for stuff. Of course you don't have to look for stuff but if you do there won't be much to find. There seems to be not as much recordings to find compared to the big world your in and most of the time you only find health and vigor when you were already full. Your vigor and health fills up fast too so you'll find yourself constantly leaving behind that stuff and not needing it. In hard mode it might be a different story but I only tried it in normal mode. All that stuff I mentioned though is minor. What really got to me was how useless the different types of powers you get. I literally only used around three of the 12 or so you get and once I got the electric one I stuck with that for the rest the game. I am sure others might find them useful since it feel like the game is trying to offer variety but the other powers literally felt useless to me. The gear you can equip is a nice addition but I had the same problem as the powers in that I found only a few of the gear useful of the plenty of gear that you find. I literally only used the first pieces of gear until the end when I finally found gear that was worth putting on to replace my old ones. The gameplay is smooth though and never had a problem moving around and shooting. Shooting is pretty accurate as well. The graphics are the most noticeable part about the game. They are gorgeous and you can just stare at awe at the city in the sky right when you get there. Especially on a good pc running on high settings. The characters look great as well and are really believable. Overall this is a gorgeous looking game with a great story where you will get mindblown away. The gameplay plays really well also. A great example of showing that story game aren't dead and hopefully inspire other developers to come up with other great stories.

Battlefield 46
Dec 6, 2013
Battlefield 4 hardly seems like an improvement but the game is still fun to play if your one of the few not experiencing any problems. On PC, or on mine at least, the graphics look really good. Better than the their current gen console counterparts though I can't talk for next gen since I've yet to experience it. Campaign: What can I say.... it just ****. We all know the campaign in these games are usually not good and this game is an example of that. Most of the time you can hardly care less about what's going on and you'll just want to get through the campaign already. To make matters worse, the devs decided to put some multiplayer unlockables in the campaign, meaning you have to play it if you want certain items or guns in the multiplayer. The story itself is just boring and part of that is how you, the main character, is poorly done. You never talk during the game which would be fine if you weren't the squad leader for the majority of the game. Often times you'll get scenes like a commander saying, "I'll answer to the squad leader only" and yet your companions will end up doing the talking for you like your a new trainee just learning the ropes and following along yet your suppose to be veteran and the leader. Multiplayer: Of you've played Battlefield 3 then you'll know what to expect. Same classes are there though some items have been mixed around. Really like that they added stats to the weapons and actually categorized so if you want a submachine gun you can just go to that. One big drawback that I don't understand why they didn't add it to the game is being able to customize your loadout while waiting for the next game. It doesn't make sense to do it while playing since you rather be playing and helping out your team rather than take time to change your loadout when you could've done it before the game started. The maps are pretty well done though, ranging from big vehicle maps to smaller no vehicles map yet big enough to accommodate a 32 and even 64 man matches. Biggest problem so far that everyone is mad about are the bugs and crashes that happened during launch. It is really unacceptable especially considering that they've had to delayed their first DLC, though I don't know why there's already a DLC, but the fact that it's been delayed shows how not ready the game was from being released. I can only recommend this game if you manage to get it for cheap like I did for 20$ and if your into FPS were sometimes you just want to jump in and experience some high action shooting.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX10
Dec 6, 2013
Great HD remake of kingdom hearts. If you've played it before then you'll know what to expect and for those that haven't, this would be a great time to jump. The graphics definitely look nicer and it's really great that they bundled the in between games especially for people like me who aren't fans of little spin off games that come out for the handhelds. Mostly because that means I have to buy handheld or other platform to play and I rather just stick to the main story. With this 1,5 remix though I can experience those spin off games as well as refresh my memory on the main story and prepare for KH3. It's a shame they didn't do anything about the camera though as it still feels to close to the character and sometimes you'll have a problem seeing things or the enemy but it's nothing new that you haven't experienced before if you've played it for PS2 and there aren't any new problems which is a big plus. For 40$ though it's a bit pricey so I highly recommend getting it on special like I did for 20$.

Killzone: Shadow Fall8
Dec 6, 2013
Killzone shadow fall is a good game for the PS4 that actually makes use of the touchpad. Unfortunately there are some minor annoyances that keep the game from being great. The storyline is pretty good and the first thing you'll probably notice are the gorgeous graphics. Gameplay is great too never experiencing any problems. The touchpad is only used as another D-pad to control OWl, your robot companion, in the game. While it wouldn't be that bad that the touchpad is only used as another D-pad, the problem is that OWL is pretty much useless. You can get him to do only four things but throughout the game you'll forget to use OWL unless you need him to hack a **** can't do anything while your sending it out, not even be running, which adds another reason why you wouldn't want to use OWL in this fast paced action game but then it also gets bad that the devs force you to use OWL when up against super shielded enemies. You can either waste a couple of clips taking out a shield of one of those heavily shielded enemies or use OWL to take out their shield. While it may sound that OWL may actually be useful, the attack OWL uses only works on a small area. So while your waiting for OWL to take out the shield of 1 of those heavily shielded enemies, you still have to worry about the other 4 or 5 that are trying to take you down. The multiplayer in the game plays really well. Not once did I have any connection issues. The game modes are fun too and I was more into the first game mode which is the basic one. Your in a team and go rounds playing random game matches like team deathmatch, then it whoever wins next round might be capture and hold and so on. You got different loadouts so you can experiment and see which one you like. Unlike Battlefield 4 and CoD though you won't find much when it comes to unlockables. If you chose to play the regular assault, like I did, you'll find that all the primary weapons are unlocked. You can unlock only 3 shotguns if you want and unlock all the abilities right away. About the only depth in unlockables is trying to level up your abilities, those that can level up at least, but when it came to assault I found I really only wanted to level up the little droid that has your back since the level up only makes it so your abilities last longer and you only have a handful of abilities. Not much to do in the customization option but the multiplayer gameplay was fun in itself that it might make you want to just jump and start playing. Overall I think the game is pretty good for a launch title to show off the PS4 capabilities and what really pops out are those graphics. I just can't describe how much better looking this game is compared to a PS3 game. I would definitely recommend this as a launch title buy if you want a fun game that also makes good use of the PS4 capabilities.
