Slightly better than Black Panther. The best part of the film is an emotional (for once) moment at the beginning of the thrid act where Thanos and his daughter share many scenes. Won´t say more. The rest... so many characters you do not engage with anyone much. I think Cap and his boyfriend were underuse in this one. And I´m still not fond of Spiderman being some type of Iron Man pupil, although I like the actor playing him (nothing like Andrew Garfield, but he´s good and cute too). A normal step in this franchise but one can live without knowing any of these films or stories. Just basic film making.

Atmosphere perfectly built little by little, detail by detail, at the beginning of the film. Then towards the middle... bang! The thing kind of explodes with a tremendous situation the character played by Emily Blunt has to live. The film, apart from none gore terror, is a great emotive piece of drama. The film will get you more than you think towards the end. Must see.

Beautiful portray of what a relationship for two people can be, different for each one of those people. The film is hard to watch at times. It´s realistic but also with some unnecessary shots at the beggining which apart from cruel, make you hate pretty much all the characters at first. Thankfully that changes and it develops in this beautiful (but sad) interaction between these two teenagers and includes very emotional scenes and warm reactions too. I just wish we all could learn once and for all to be kinder with our environment, something I´m not sure the people responsible for this film are aware of, just like the other review here said. But the story itself is well done. Best character the blonde kid.

Perfect story about anybody´s first, youngest and truest love story or at least first huge crush for the people who didn´t live such thing. Fantastic cinematography, it feels you are in the spot from minute one. The film grabs you little by little. And there´s this feeling you know how it is going to end, which makes it very very effective and affecting once it comes. By the whole second hour of the picture you are totally in. In love with the characters, with the vibe, with those parents... Perfectly executed, it is one of those rare cases one can consider a film flawless, whether the story is your cup of tea or not (it should be for everybody, love, youth, etc), it is flawlesly conveyed. It grabs your heart in ways... let´s say you thought it wasn´t going to hit you like that at first but in the end it does, and for days. A similar experience to that of Moonlight, although the latter was a more innovative piece and full of heavy stuff. In this one, the problem and "villanin" is "just" time. Which is not little. Amazing life lessons we can get from here. Special mention to Armie Hammer in the first role in which he truly excels and of course to Timothee, this young actor that suffers that thing, that beautiful and hurtful thing called love, and that will probably stay with you for days. Especilly after his amazing last 15 minutes where he shows all the hurt and love a young person can live in this situation. Perfect piece, something to behold. Best film of 2017.

Fantasy film with heavy touches of reality. Describes loneliness perfectly, and gives you a very warm look at people who are often rejected by others. Fantastic production design. The idea itself in not new. But the way it is filmed and some of the connotationes are. The thing I would praise the most is the leading actress. She conveys the character with so much ease and truth... it is a brilliant work. In fact I´m probably in the minority but I believe hers was the best female performance of the year. So much subtleness and talent. Not my pick for film of the year but it is top 4.

Engaging film full of heavy stuff carried in some of the most bearable ways, with fantastic characters played by equally fantastic actors. The leading role is one of the strongest of the year, a woman who desperately seeks justice and revenge for her daughter´s death. The film reflects the many flaws of our society and leaves us thinking about the different possibilities and the many things in life we can do to take one direction or the opposite. Also, that very often, things are left unresolved and one has to live with it. Homophobia, racism, cruelty, hypocrisy, and many other sides of human beings are tackled here. And not one main character is left out of that. Especially interesting the arc for one of the police officer´s character, played by Sam Rockwell. Frances carries the film perfectly too as only she knows. It doesn´t feel like something especially new or artistic, but it wins us with its unpredictable nature and entertainment value.

One more Marvel flick with the same formula, good pacing but not especially good acting, score or art anywhere to be found. Everything is just ok and works. I understand the importance of what it means and I´m glad it had success. But film making wise it is just a simple average blockbuster. I really thought I was going to see something more special topics wise, but there was nothing. Marvel hyped its **** to the gods yet again. I think Wonder Woman last year was slightly better for example. Without being a masterpiece either obviously. I never fall into the hype with these basics flicks and I keep being correct about it everytime I end checking one of these super hero flicks. Entertaining. Nothing else. The scores by critics are IN THIS CASE definitely VERY inflated by what it meant as a movement more than by the (non-existent) quality of the film.

Definitely a downgrading from Wonder Woman the film. It is too messy. The visuals, especially when it comes to the Batman moments, are stunning. While other times not so much. The story is weak in general. But the team is a very disfunctional one, which I like. Wonder Woman is totally the match maker and person of peace in the group. There would be no group without her. Not Batman, not Superman. In fact, these two keep having a pretty big rivalry at times. I like the way they have gone with this Superman: some type of God that could be so destructive, not just a good "man". The Cyborg and Flash additions are good. Don´t hurry to see it but you won´t have a bad time.

Great action scenes and fast pacing that will give anybody a fun time. It is not better and not worse than the first installement. Take by that what you want. The cast is good and tehre are a few references to the upcoming biggest social change we are already witnessing: veganism. Extra points from me for that. There are a few moments made in too much of a bad taste in my opinion. But taht aside everything and everyone is nice to look at, and like I said, the action and visuals are amazing.

I give it a very decent 6.5 out of 10. Stunning action pieces that should make some teams from other blockbusters with double the budget reconsider things. Fantastic visuals. The film flows thanks to it and also thanks to great performances by a good part of the cast. The writing is the weakest part, but it is also the case for many of these blockbusters in general. Maybe the weakest film in the trilogy was the second, so this last one tries to reconnect all the things. And does it successfully in my opinion. Towards the end I was clearly invested in what this group of people were going through. Pure entertainment and some emotional investment. Recommendable.

Great atmosphere, short film (welcome these days) and with a tension that keeps building as events happen. Unexpected outcome for me in the end. Good music, good cinematograpahy and style, great and brutal fighting scenes and a lead actress that nails it. Charlize Theron fits these type of roles like a glove. Since Prometheus and Fury Road it is clear the girl has been born to do these other type of bad-ass roles. She delivers on all fronts. Still stunning for her age by the way. Really spectacular. The plot is a little bit confusing although it keeps you interested and you end understanding everything in the end. Nothing groundbreaking story wise but very enjoyable.

We could say the film gives us one of the most brilliant thecnical spectacles we have ever seen. The film is a 10 in that regard. Stunning cinematography. Hanns Zimmer does it again with the score too. The guy is something else. And then... there´s a but: there is no story (almost). It´s definitely not a flaw because it´s obvious that´s what Nolan went for this go around. But it makes it not have emotional punch, like Interstellar, Inception and other of his films have a plenty. Despite that, the film is not boring by any means, which says a lot about its quality. Deserves all the nominations it is gettings. But I would only give it the technical awards.

As most Marvel flicks the pacing is very good. And it´s family friendly. It doesn´t give us any of that promised new stuff. We have seen Spiderman do all these things already, and way better. Tom Holland is a very good and cute young Spiderman (he is no Andrew Garfield as an actor though). He delivered. Michael Keaton is excelent as the villain, true quality seasoned actor. The execution is good. And there are a couple of really tense situations in the film that are worth it. However, there are many cons: I´m definitely not into such a young Spiderman. He looks so small when he´s in his suit. The suit is worse than the one in The Amazing Spiderman. The fact that Spiderman is almost a product of Iron man is a joke. I´m sorry but that´s a total change for the character. It just isn´t Spiderman. During many parts of the film, the action scenes in the dark were confusing. Something that didn´t happen in the many night scenes in the two Amazing Spiderman films with Andrew Garfield. Marvel has done some kind of light comedy as they always do. In general it works as a well connected piece of entertainment. But it doesn´t go beyond that. The emotional connection is not there. The previous Spiderman films were way more involving and emotive.

The best blockbuster of 2017 closes an stunning trilogy that has ended excceding all expectations anyone could have before in started in 2011. The first half hour is breathtaking. The cinematography is crazy (special mention to the shots with the apes and the girl riding horses on the beach). Tense start of the film. The first encounter between Caesar and the coronel comes so soon and is so explosive. Then the pacing becomes slower, but never boring, in an attempt at explaining things and develop the story. By the time the film ends one is an emotional mess. It is the perfect closure to the trilogy that also gives space to more stories, but don´t worry, it is an ending. In all senses. A tremendous journey for an oppressed group of sentient beings that earn their freedom. Tremendous. The level of detail of the film is pretty amazing too. And it also has a nice reminder of what the old films gave us when it comes to humans (I had totally forgoten than in the old Planet films humans didn´t...). The apes seem more real than ever. It´s absolutely breathtaking. This time, I would consider the film for an oscar nomination even if with no chances. Andy Sherkins would probably deserve a nomination too. Score very on point too. Like I said, the ending is deserving of getting emotional for all the right reasons. Earned.

Very moving film that made me get emotional like very few in the last couple of years. The story is important and once again (after Slumdog) it gives us an idea of how it is like to belong to the poor clash in India. That first part of the film lasts almost until the middle, which is how it should be order to make the viewer be able to put themselves in the position if these children, at least have an idea. Then we get to know the family and many things that come with adoption. As expected Nicole Kidman nails it as the new mother. But especial kudos to the leading actor, who has the charisma to carry any film in my opinion. All the cast is great and you´ll be involved with the story no doubt. I don´t give it more than a 7 because somehow the film is not new and doesn´t have the creativity and art something like Moonlight posesses for example. But everything is on point, cinematography and all. Must see. Important story, a reflection of millions.

I don´t think it is a film we hadn´t seen before and I find the average ratings a little bit exaggerated. I don´t think this should be almost topping some blockbuster-art-pieces (few out there, I know) in these critics opinions to be honest. This is not new. It´s very well done thought, that´s its strenght. I liked it a lot and was engaged from start to finish. However the concept is not new or groundbreaking. Still definitey one of the most fun watches of the year. I especially liked the lead actor. And the comedy touches thanks to that character´s best friend were very welcome. Strong 7/10.

One of the best super hero films of the last 2-3 years. It finally gives us a woman superhero as the lead, Gal Gadot being perfect for this role. The film runs easily despite not having many action pieces by number, but they have quality. It also has a little comedy and Chris Pine is obviously a good actor that doesn´t disappoint. Visuals are great as expected. What gives it a special touch is the World War I based story. Something we see in very few films compared to World War II. Totally recommendable and with a little bit more of depth than most comic book flicks created for all ages.

Absolutely disturbing film that probably won´t go the way you would think at first if you hadn´t heard that much about it. It´s definitely engaging form beginning to end (despite being long, many things happen). Most of the characters if not all are quite amoral probably in an attempt at reflecting what all of us humans can be. Good and bad. Way more exaggerated than what most people in real life are in my opinion, but that´s not a problem of the film of course. A lot of issues are approached regarding sex most of all, also other types of relationships and mental states. Every actor plays their part successfully and nothing will leave you indifferent. A very strong 8/10 from me for a very daring and out there film.

The actors are all good although in this occasion the absolute star is Michael Fassbender (David). Surprising stuff we get to see from that character. Overall I would have prefered to see a full sequel to Prometheus, but this is rewarding enough for the people who wanted answers since that entry. The film gives us plenty. Calm, classy, emotive, a flawless story about love a few decades ago that will grow on you as the film passes, with a brilliant and tense final scene where no words are nedeed to capture the essense of what the film is about. The two leading actresses are outstanding as expected from them. A restrained lesson in acting. Fantastic. One of those films that leaves you thinking "this is a perfect film". I don´t give it a 10 because at the end of the day there´s nothing new in it either and it is a little too conventional for me to be fascinated by it, in the way a film like Moonlight can do to me for example. Exceptional cinematic achievement that captures so many lives, emotions and feelings anyone can relate to in such a simple way. Extraordinary sensibility, maturity and editing, the picture goes through 3 different phases in the life of a young man going through a lot of things. After each one of those phases ends it leaves you wanting more, to know more about that child and getting more of that particular actor. The casting is also on point and every actor carries the story and the mannerisms of this kid so well. It´s one of those films that keeps growing on you more and more even after watching and stays days in your mind. Somehow it is not sad, it is quite pleasant and peaceful. It´s life. Probably the most unquestionable win for best picture at the Oscars in years since the film hasn´t got a single flaw. Total agreement with the critics average and that outstanding 99/100. A MUST see.

Not the biggest cinematic achievement of the year by any means but a way better film than usual when it comes to this genre of cute films full of good intentions that show as some type of history page to teach us a lesson. In this case it is absolutely entertaining from start to finish, funny, fun and poignant. It helps a lot that the vehicle used to tell the story is a scientific achievement. Not common in films unfortunately. It´s woth the mention that the incredibly talented musician Janelle Monae makes a great debut in film with this one. Good concept, good script, every actor on point (Vigo Mortensen is great in the role even though I feel he just plays himself again and again, but to be fair he gives really great restrained acting pieces towards the end of the film. I still was more captivated by some of the younger actors performances), cool cinematography and great job by the director. It had a few flaws (things that didn´t make sense)from the beginning to me, which did force me to not be crazy about the film for most part of it. However, being fair, it is a very emotinal journey where many pieces have to come together and it is done in a very well executed way. Recommendable in any case.

I´m clonflicted on this one. I give it an 8 due to its beauty, charm, elegance and the perfect and very surprising cast. Emma Stone fits the role like a glove. She is the film in a way. Ryan Goslin is absolutely perfect in the role too, but he has way less to do in the film. The opening is so fresh and engaging. And I found the last 10 minutes to be perfect too. However, I was not that engaged in the story. Emma´s character is quite unlikeable. And Ryan´s character is cute, but still not engaging enough. For you to be really involved in a film you have to care about what happens. There are also a few moments where I lost the interest and got a little bored. It also had some stereotypes going on. I still give it an 8 for all the effort and the beauty in it, and the acting. I´d feel bad giving a film like this a lower rate. But it didn´t wow me, or move me.

Engaging, beautiful, intriguing, fresh, surprising. One of the best cinematographies of 2016 the film just looks gorgeous. The cast is one of the most perfect ensembles from the last couple of years too. With Amy Adams nailing every single facial detail and a shockingly on point Jake Gyllenhaal. Might be Jake´s better acting showing ever. Remarkable Michael Shannon too. I was captivated from almost the start of the film since it gives you that type of script that makes you doubt many times. Must watch film that tells us the story of a very brave man who risked many things to let people, the world, know the truth about how the powers dominate the world. People need to wake up and understand how the awful things work and don´t be so easily manipulated by propaganda and light entertainment. It´s the case of the repulsive monumental companies such as pharmaceutical industry, dairy and meat industry and many more, apart from the markets which destroy countries just as they please only to earn more money. In this case it is about the way agencies like CIA invade people´s lives (and kill calmly) and try to have the rest of the world under "control". For the type of film and story this Oliver Stone outing is, one can say that it is surprisingly entertaining and non-preachy. Joseph Gordon-Levitt carries the film perfectly, and actress Shailene Woodley does a good job too. Also, the rest of the secondary cast is full of seasoned veterans who add weight to the story. One can tell everybody is very involved with the film. And the most fascinating fact is that it is about something as recent as last years presidential election, with Hillary and Trump talking about this man in the debates (no wonder why people in America didn´t want to really vote for neither of them). Like I said, for the type of film that this is, it is a MUST WATCH.

The film itself is a 7/10. Andrew Garfield is a big 9/10. The guy is amazing. This young actor is going to have an amazing and respected career. He is so good, versatile, expressive, emotive. He exudes personality and I don´t doubt they can throw any role at him that he´ll deliver. He even shone over what the normal actor playing those type of roles shine when he played Spiderman. It also helps that he is a real open minded and kind person in real life. The film: it is very well made, it´s based on a pretty interesting person and I love that person´s principles. Other than that it is a pretty save film that we have seen before in a way. But it is definitely still a great watch. Every single character (and actor) catches your attention. Mel Gibson definitely helped many old friends to get a role in this film and they all delivered to be honest. The biggest BUTS for me are some cheesy scenes (so common in this type of films) and Gibson´s obsession with blood and religion. Two things that really put me off in general. Still, even that, is saved by a splendic Andrew Garfield who deservengly got his first oscar nomination for best leading actor with this role.

I´m glad both critics and users agree that this new Diney film is better than the weak Frozen, a film that I called basic and generic from the beginning and which only saving grace that made it so famous was probably the song "Let it Go" (that cannot compare to true memorable Disney scores like The Lion King anyway). Moana exudes beauty and charm. There are several very nice songs. The power of the deep blue ocean is amazing to witness. And I love the fact that there are no references to relationships whatsoever. A better story than I expected and a strong leading female character. I also love the representaion of that culture and the fact that they show them eating mostly vegetables and healthy food (the world needs to change once and for all sooner or later in that regard. It´s coming. There´s no other way). It´s a pity that it was released the same year as Zootopia (phenomenal and even better than Moana) and the oscar had to go to Zootopia, because Moana certainly deserves the oscar way more than Frozen (which sadly got it in its respective year). That´s for sure. Must see for Disney audiences.

I´m sorry to say but these but hurt fanboys (most of them comic book fans who refuse to grow up and pee their pants for a simple new super hero film depite being in their 30s and 40s) made a joke of themselves by downgrading this film to such extremes for no reason. The original films, no matter if you grew up with them, aren´t masterpieces either. A person is supposed to be unbiased while reviewing. And especially, in this day and age, you are supposed to be an educated real MAN who don´t hate on remakes just because of a change of genre. Very sad to see. About the film itself: enjoyable. I was expecting worse. A couple of the feamle characters are really funny and despite it being quite long, the film doesn´t get too tiring. I also enjoyed the actor who usually plays Thor (surprising because one can not say he is a very good one). Enjoyable.

Enjoyable film perfect for a nowadays very toned Ben Affleck and his not so great acting skills. The film is more appealing and feels fresher than expected. Very nice action and shooting scenes. It kind of keeps the mistery for the entire film. A good secondary cast makes the film have enough punch. It´s not a crazy good or innovative piece of cinema so I give it a good 6/10. Definitely enjoyable.

Enjoyable film that maybe you don´t expect. It reminded me of Kiss Kiss Ban Bang. Definitely that type of movie. I don´t care much about Russel Crow these days but Ryan Goslin carries the film pretty well. Overall, there´s story to follow and several very funny moments. Not many films like this these days. Recommendable.

Surprisingly calm film about a fascinating encounter with intelligent alien life that takes place on Earth. The film doesn´t have big visual showings and the pace is pretty slow. But it doesn´t take away from the quality. The theme of the film is language and how difficult it would be to communicate with such strange forms of life. Above all that, the film is an emotive story about a woman´s life and passion for her job and her loved one (you´ll have to see to know who I am refering to). Amy Adams does amazing as always. And you can expect a few twists. But nothing too big. It is about emotions and making us think. We have to improve and educate ourselves more and more, and especially be more sympathetic with others, including other species (go vegan!). A solid 8 out of 10.

The Coen brothers films are not made for the masses. And why should they? I personally am not the biggest fan of all. But I appreciate talent, style and good scripts. This has tons of that, as any of their releases. I wasn´t bored at any point and I enjoyed every single detail and actor in this. Special mentions to Tilda Swinton (she´s just so unique) and Josh Brolin. Channing Tatum is funny and the boy can dance. Alden does a great job too. One of the biggest roles in the film. Thumbs up for film makers who pursue art.

One more basic superhero origin story. Nothing new under teh radar. Despite the great visuals (that keep improvinga nd improving with each blockbuster we get), the story is a very simple one, as expected. As in most Marvel flicks, there´s no room for acting pieces or anything that stands out. Just pure "entertainment" at the very well planned same pace. It just becomes more boring with each new release. People who love visuals with not much thought will keep enjoying this. The rest of film lovers can skip this, as usual.

Beautiful, simple, complex, tender, nice, realistic, sensual, cute, emotive, warm, gorgeous... all these adjectives and many more can perfectly be used to describe this French film that gives us what the best French films have to offer: human nature and believable stories. The two yound actors eat their respective roles and show great solo scenes and also beautiful chemistry. All this thanks to the director too, well trained in actors direction from past adventures. Must watch for any type of audience. You won´t regret it. Will make you feel happy.
