A timeless masterpiece. Sound, music, mechanics, story and the very definition of what gameplay is are elevated to an overall height which makes this piece of art completely outstanding. Why 9? It would have deserved a next gen update for ps5.

Deep, philosophical and emotional story telling, combined with so many ideas and gameplay mechanics makes Nier: Automata a true and timeless masterpiece. Must play, easily. The PS4 version works fine on PS5. Perfectly smooth 1080p at 60fps. Visuals look a little bit dated, being spoiled by titles like Stellar Blade. This doesn't harm the greatness of this piece of artwork, though.

Educational simulation game, crafting a computer, building all your way up from logic gates. Not for everybody, a joyful nerdy experience nevertheless.

Story and setting are great. But combat, main quests and world are dull and lifeless. Same areas to be visited multiple times, for one playthrough. And then again for further playthroughs. Some areas are a text adventure. Grindy waste of time!

Stellar Blade made no secret about the inspiration it took from Nier in the first place. This DLC is technically very solid and carries over some of the nice easter eggs from Nier, like the camera kick. A little bit more content story wise beyond pure cosmetics, stellar tears and the shop would have been nice, though.

Right from the launch date a beautiful and complete game, with great visuals, mechanics and story. Every second wholeheartedly crafted to be an enjoyable game, and nothing more. A delightful surprise from a studio making its console debut -- looking forward to seeing more from SHIFT UP! Hopefully, this sets a new standard that encourages other studios and publishers to reconsider their monetization strategies and focus more on creating genuinely enjoyable games.
