No. I went into this one with caution, but got caught by the hype. I regret it. First, the graphics. I don't like this visual style at all, sorry. Oh it's very solid technically, no problem. Past the introduction which was very nice and colorful and had my hopes high, you enter a world with...muted colors. It's hard to describe but everything in this game has this weird look where no real amounts of colors are allowed to be displayed if not for a lot of blackness next to it, it's rather monochromatic and with a certain lack of contrast. It has no soul. Tried changing some settings to my monitor but this can only help a bit. The characters themselves wear dark clothes and don't stand out from the environment. I blame the Unreal Engine boring style of lighting which is designed to make games look realistic, but I don't like realism in my RPGs. The music? Well...while it's certainly better than your average AAA game, it's like saying a dead rat is better than a dead coakroach. It's symphonic like a movie score, and movie scores don't belong in video games. Overaell it's fine but it doesn't sound anywhere as good as any classic JRPGs out there. None of it will get stuck in your head like the games in this genre do for me usually, no memorable themes outside of the main one. A crual disappointment after all the praise I've been hearing... There's a clear lack of interactivity. Most of the time you'll be pushing forward on the stick to progress and the only thing that interrupts the boredom are cutscenes - just like 3rd person action games. In the few hours I played before dropping it, the characters and the plot didn't grab me either. The battle system? I usually love turn-based, but this one is really annoying. You can't just send your commands, you also have to dodge or parry attacks constantly. It's like doing QTEs with very precise timing. What would be enjoyable in a rhythm game, isn't fun here because there's no flow to it. What I like about turn based is the decisions I take, I don't mind a little action like in the Tales Of or series but in that series I have full control. Here, you get the worst of both worlds - stuck and having to react constantly! The camera is too close to the character for comfort and keeps your view of the environments to the ground - again, just like 3rd person action games. I hate it. So what do you do when you're not enjoying a game? Oops - I'm past the two hours time for a refund... If you love JRPGs and were on the fence on buying this - for the love of god, play other games instead, there's CHOICE! Just from recent releases, play Lunar Remastered, Suikoden, Bravely Default, Baten Kaitos, Dragon Quest **** with much better art and characters, better battle systems and with AMAZING soundtracks... If you want something modern, play Metaphor or a WRPG like Baldur's Gate 3 if that's more your style. Heck, I had way more fun playing indies like Cosmic Star Heroine or Small Saga! Basically - this is a RPG for third person action game fans. I'm still giving points considering this game will act as an introduction point into the genre for many...hopefully they'll try some classic JRPGs after this.

I don't really get the hype, but then again I didn't play the original games. It seems like an average adventure game to me owing a lot to the nostalgia. After playing Brok the investigator which released recently or Unavowed from Wadjet eye I see the rift, if anything it doesn't have the tons of choices and narrative content these games have and this leaves a sour taste. Oh and the animation is really low budget and lazy. Play it only if you're a fan of the series, otherwise there are much better modern adventure games out there.

It's pretty good! Great visuals and you can play a CAT. This alone deserves bonus points. I didn't have too much trouble with the voice acting.

It's fine but aside from the great art style, there's no real innovation here. This is your standard adventure game fare. A bit disappointed.

Underwhelming horror game that doesn't bring much anything new to the genre.

Epic adventure, hard to put down. Great characters and great beat 'em up action to spice things up. Perfect voice acting, better than most AAA titles. Tons of choices with real impacts (looking at you, Telltale) I highly recommend.

This game is a lot of fun! If you like original humor and don't mind some childish jokes, then you're in for a treat. It's very long and attractive with nice cartoon art. The puzzles are logical and varied, the screens have a lot of things to click on and it has a nice story. I really enjoyed the the gameovers and cookies collecting! I recommend it!

This is one great adventure game! I love the comic book style, the music is great and I had a lot of fun playing it. The body swapping story is interesting. I recommend it.

I bought this expecting another Gabriel Knight, but this is a disappointment. There are very little puzzles in it, the story is quite short and the ending clearly makes it like a first episode and not a full length game. Also I'm getting sick of low res graphics... Makes it hard to distinguish things.
