This game is fantastic. I've been playing it on Onlive and it is running flawlessly. I got to play it right at midnight. Multiplayer is a blast. This game takes the best of Call of Duty and Battlefield and tweaks it enough to differentiate itself from them, but at the same time is familiar enough for fans of those series to immediately enjoy. Battlepoints are an amazing feature of the game and are way better than the kill streaks in Call of Duty. They are much more fair for all players and are balanced very well. In fact, just about everything about the multiplayer game is balanced. That's quite a feat. Vehicle control is very well done and can be customized to your liking. None of the vehicles are overpowered, but they still contribute to the battlefield and should be feared. The guns are all unique and can be customized with a ton of different scopes, etc. A lot of the multiplayer has your typical fanfare like experience, challenges, etc. The maps are fantastic. There is a ton of "stuff" to hide in and take cover with. One thing that I think this game doesn't get enough credit for is the sound. This game sounds like war! Everything from the muffling when a grenade goes off near by to the distant sounds of gunfire are done very well. The atmosphere in this game is top notch. I've only gotten about 30 minutes into the singleplayer, but so far that is very engaging and I can see myself being driven through it because of the backstory even though I usually enjoy multiplayer more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Black Ops on the Wii is definitely a complete package. If you were expecting it to be a poorly ported game with only half the features of the HD versions, then you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that it has more features than any other Wii FPS game. People who criticize the game in that respect are people who are not objectively reviewing the game in the context of the Wii. This is a great game that offers the same great multiplayer of the HD versions, but with better control options that are as precise as that of a PC KB/Mouse combo. Multiplater has it all. There are a ton of character customization options with perk upgrades, tons of weapon attachments, soldier uniforms, tactical equipment, etc. There is a ton here to keep you playing. So how does it play? It plays amazing and it is CoD at heart. If you enjoy CoD games, you'll love this. In the end it is just as addicting as any other CoD game. I keep telling myself "just one more match" late at night. Treyarch just released a patch to the game that fixes most of the connectivity issues that myself and many others have been having. They were frustrating when trying to play a game and you'd find yourself spending more time trying to connect than playing. Now that they're fixed, I am not reducing the score I gave it because it that many others have. It plays great now. The only thing that disappoints me a little are the graphics. I used to play MW Reflex a lot and it just seems like the graphics are a step down from that. MW Reflex had more detailed textures that seemed grittier. This game seems to have a much more flat look to everything. Don't get me wrong, the game still looks great. But, when you receive huge frame rate drops when hosting a game in multiplayer because of how hard they are pushing the Wii, it just seems odd that I never had that in MW Reflex and yet it seems like those graphics were better. All in all it is a great game that I will be playing a lot of.

Some perspective is needed when reviewing this game. This is a WiiWare title, yet it shows some polish of something much more but at the same time there are some things about it that will always let you know it is a WiiWare game. The graphics are good (for a WiiWare game), the controls are tight and responsive, and it includes multiplayer. The difficulty in singleplayer can be brutal at times though. There isn't much variety in gameplay even though the missions attempt to mix things up a bit. Overall it is a decent game and if you are an FPS fan, this is a good cheap addition to your collection and on of the only FPS options on the WiiWare service.

JungleSpeed is a great WiiWare game with tons of value. This is a great party game to pick up. It can play up to eight players simultaneously with a unique controller setup using 4 wiimotes and 4 nunchucks for a total of 8 controllers. The pace of the game is fast and yet can accomodate beginners and advanced players. The game is best played with two or more people but you can add in computer players to fill in some empty spots. The graphics are cute and well done for a simple card game. There are also plenty of options such as different totems, card additions, and difficulty. It is a cheap game that will get plenty of use if you invite some friends over to play.

Wii Sports resort is what the Wii is about. The motion controls are perfect and I only wish more games would take advantage of Wii Motion Plus. It is what Wii Sports should have been. It follows the same design as Wii Sports for better or for worse. So of the games on it aren't that great, but others, like Ping Pong, Sword Fighting, Jet Skiing, Golf, Frisbee, and Archery are all top notch. I could play ping pong of hours on end.

MadWorld is a fun game that brings a level of uniqueness to a Wii system that is littered with "kiddy" games. The gameplay is your typical brawler game, but offers up some unique and cinematic sequences that involve the Wii's motion controls to mix things up. The music is great and goes well with the theme. The game can get repetitious a little after playing it for a while, but it is still fun. The graphics are perfect compromise for the Wii with its hardware limitations. It has a stylized "Sin City" look that is totally original. The camera can be a pain sometimes, but you get used to it and isn't too big of a deal.

This is one of the best WiiWare games available and one of the best console RTS games ever created. It is simple, yet hard to master. The design is terrfic and offers up a lot of strategy and depth even though it is only 2-D. The 3 factions are very different but also very balanced. The controls are perfect on the Wii system. The graphics are fresh and creative. If you love strategy games, you'll love this game. It is just a fun game that you can pick up and play at any time.

This is easily one of the best WiiWare games available. It is completely fresh and original and the controls are so ingenious. The game is clever from start to finish and the puzzles are balanced perfectly between difficulty and fun. The game is of reasonable length for a WiiWare game too. Graphics are very clean and beautiful to look at.

Monster Hunter Tri

This is easily one of the top 5 games on the Wii ever. The Wii doesn't have many games that have a level of depth to them that will keep you playing over the long haul. Most Wii games you play and once you finish it, you'll put it on a shelf to collect dust. Not Monster Hunter Tri. This game is addicting in the way that MMO's are addicting. They keep you playing through a necessity to get better gear and fight bigger monsters. You'll play this game for hours on end. The community is awesome and online play is where it is at. Making friends online is super easy and playing with others in a group makes the game so much more dynamic which just further increases the games longevity. Playing online like Monster Hunter Tri is what Nintendo needs to take note of and implement it like this in future games. The graphics are top notch and are probably the best you'll see for the Wii. Gameplay is terrific and the controls are good if you use a Classic controller. Maneuevering the camera is made easy with the analog stick. This game has a ton of items to collect and one of the problems with these types of games is that inventory can become a nightmare. I've played a ton of MMOs and that is almost always a problem to the point where it stops me from picking up items because I just don't want to deal with it. But, I must say the inventory management in Monster Hunter Tri is one of the easiest systems to manage compared to just about any other game on any other system. It is that easy. Items are easily sorted, automatically selected, easy to bundle, etc. It is all there and can be done with just a few button pushes. Monster Hunter Tri will probably remain one of my favorite Wii games ever.

Metroid: Other M

I wanted to start off saying, just as many others have said, to ignore many of the low scores. I've read most of the publication reviews and have to say that most of the negative ones get hung up on minor issues that for some reason they can't get over. Simply put, this game is what next generation platformers should be. The controls are great and the mix between third-person and first-person views makes for very dynamic battles. If your Wii Remote is setup properly with the sensor bar then you will have little issue switching between the two views in the middle of battle. Also, several others who gave the game negative reviews griped about how you can't dodge while in first-person view and that simply isn't true. You can dodge using the sensemove in first-person view and it tells how in the manual. The gameplay is fantastic. It is such a fresh and original game style that is so much fun to play. Boss battles are epic and very cinematic. I am not a big fan of CG cinematic sequences as they tend to breakup gameplay and kill immersion. I am usually more in favor of ingame scripted movies (ala, Dragon Age/Mass Effect style). But the way that they blended the CG sequences with the in game graphics is beautiful and very well done and sometimes it happens so smoothly that you don't even take notice of it. The graphics are top notch and goes to show you that with good visual and artistic design, you can overcome hardware limitations and produce a visually stunning game.
