S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: " Enhanced Edition" is a guide how to make old games worse and lose the last bits of respect from former fans community. well done, GSC!
first Sicilian mission for GB felt bit of lazy, then got better, American is good; Red Army got tanks from the Future during the Battle of Kursk (t34-85), which never the less infinitely better than myth about one rifle for two in regular troops in Stalingrad in original CoD. Generally good game.
surprisingly, developers managed not to repeat "finest hour"`s anti-soviet propaganda ****, or, almost managed, and for once - part of the game for Soviets is quite decent, the very ending could be better though - it looks like modern taiga-style knife was carried thru the game to do that last **** flag slash - but still good enough, which is rare these days
while playable as a video game, story-wise Metro is sleazy anti-soviet propaganda trash, it leaks from these games like sewage from broken pipe, its a pure form of what in Russian described as "cranberry"-style (similar to golden raspberry awards for trashy movies)
while playable as a video game, story-wise Metro `33 and last light are sleazy anti-soviet propaganda trash, it leaks from these games like sewage from broken pipe

Actually a game that takes you in and once you feel involved - can give you lots and lots of fun and challenge; when i started to play it first - surviving a few days looked close to impossible - but once you learnt the game-play and got familiar with map - here starts the fun. And unforgiveness for mistakes at the start is actually a good thing here. The only sad feeling about HTL - the development took a really long time, the were periods of devs inactivity; finally they brought the game too its release and it was well released with fixed bugs etc, yet, for whatever was happening with the company - they switch to some new plans etc and left feeling that originally was more content planned but never happened - some dlc to open area across the river etc felt as would be just right ...
but no mistake - as it is the game complete and playable and fun.
if you want to play old school Fallout - play this one, Fallout 1, and if you liked it - play something like Fallout New Vegas after. skip Fallout 2 -for all "bigger" things none is better original, and most is simply worst. Fallout 2 vs Fallout 1 is like F3 vs FNV: - F1 and FNV are good rpgs, good stories and storytelling, while F2 and F3 - dorky downgrades of Post-apocalypses, with idiotic quests, stories and strained out-of-places attempts of humor.
To be honest, it fells short comparing to Fallout 1. F2 got much bigger PR blah blah blah, but tried to play it right after completing Fallout 1 - and had to give up, it was disappointing - main quest and the very its idea - worse than original, tone and atmosphere - worse, too much content feels strained and out of place. Even Intro here goes weird and wrong - by the end of fallout 1 i could actually understand Overseer and his final decision - and not just for the vault as a community - i don`t see how main character after all he experienced going back to live in vault again , so letting him/her go were neither bad nor evil call; and here -"exiled, poor thing" - already wrong. Is it a bad game - may be not, but it simply not nearly as good as original.
Important info below!!! read it all.
One of the game i followed since early release, liked it then ( starting from version 0.25 ) and it became one of the best game in the genre of all times. Devs did really good communication and still keeping it up, game play is captivating - to compare, never got fully into the Forrest or Stranded deep, but really enjoyed TLD. it really deserves 9-10/10 total score from players and i think lots of negative reviews fall on after release and paid DLC. Hinterland became one of the best game developing companies in their communication and attitude, listening to players ideas and remarks.
91% positive reviews on Steam reflect game quality and reality much better that metacritics score.
PS: The Survival mode - is all 12/10, by the time Story mod came out, i (and many other people from kick start)had literally 1000hrs (thousand) of play, so story mod felt like softer version of main game. also, when recently Hinterland divided survival and story mod, and released paid DLC - that`s when TLD got bombed with negative reviews, HOWEVER: first, many people and me personally voted for paid DLC - it was fair, the game price stayed around $25 for few years; second, people complayed "why you do DLC for survival while some story mod seasons in work still" - BUT TLD WAS a Survival Sandbox first and most, and many people like me - play exactly it, survival mod without story and kudos to Devs they still updating survival mod, paid AND free both;
third - the game IS the best at survival and unforgiving - one mistake you you WILL die there, make manual saves if you must;
forth - read carefully game description - its very fair and straightforward - its not a "realistic" blah blah, Devs do know about real live wolves different behavior etc etc and its written very strait - and if its not your type of game - it is not your type, but once again - before DLC release its STEAM rating was around 96-97% positive as deserved, and Hinterland team would put to shame alot of "triple ZZZ" big game companies, like bugfethda etc, in terms of really good attitude towards their players
Followed its development on Steam since early release version - and it met good expectations. Made me read Orphans of the Sky - game loosely based on it, well, Heinlein`s book was finished and 3 nights and never felt sorry for reading it; as for the game - on underdog setting its harsh and unforgiving in combat, feeling the dice roles as in D&D games, yet enjoyable. Liked the writing - i liked it well enough in The Age of Decadence, but here its much more polished and pleasure to read the text. they still adding content - which is good, may be it felt rushed towards the ending - but generally developers kept good communication with community all the way thru, fixing bugs and polishing the game; nothing is perfect and possible to find faults in case of nitpicking, but for small company - they did well and deserved high marks.
one of the most notable game of 2023, deserves all good reviews, many not perfect, but definitely deserves better public PR than some of the **** games of the sames time period (like super-fail of Starfield for one);
kudos, love and support to Joanne Rowling!
First negative emotions Fallout 4 managed to deliver before it even started properly - the Intro spits into your face that " US ended World War II by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki" (quote) .
while Fallout Universe represents some alternative history of our world - that statement **** onto not only any History. alternative or not, but common sense of any normal human-being and humanity in general. So the game didn`t even start, but already brought strong feeling to stop it there and then. Gave it a chance, though: as expected, Bethesda **** on any Fallout lore - its horrible Fallout game. If to forget you playing Bethesda pseudo-fallout, game is vast as ocean and shallow as piss puddle: it attempts to make steps into so many directions, but at the end, reaches none. not all ideas were bad initially - but being bethesda-made, simply died off by their implementations - pre-war scene - actually cool idea, but could be done SOoo much better, settlement building - sort of strange for a game where a LONE Wanderer is main theme, yet it could work, if only after building your town you didn`t get generic, boring settlers who you can`t communicate with in any interesting way and who looks like came of some line production of dolls with rubber skin, and so on, etc, etc
while its easy to find some faults in this Robocop coming back, the things that Teyon hit just right with Rogue City overweighing them immediately,
at least for any of original Paul Verhoeven`s masterpiece fans.
if you looking for just a shooter - look for other items on market, but for any boy (or girl) of 80`s who cosplayed with a bucket on their heads - it`s 12/10: atmosphere and style, Peter Weller`s voice acting, wish only for unforgettable Basil Poledouris`s theme all the way thru :)) - otherwise what else do you need!
in 2023 New Vegas still easily beats Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and 76 put together....
in a better world todd would be vice-janitor, cleaning Obsidian office while better game developers doing their job,
while in **** reality bethesda, company that created 0 (ZERO) GOOD Fallout games themselves, had arrogance and impudence to screw Obsidians after NV release...
Obsidian Entertainment, under such short time, fighting lame and even then obsolete engine, managed to create by far superior to Fallout 3 game which rightfully counted for one of the best RPG of all time and the best first person Fallout game
New Vegas, with best of talented modding community, is well played in 2023 and will be well played so long video gaming exists - that`s what means Quality
shame on bethesda for giving not enough time to Obsidians, that`s the only fault, (that and **** engine that was fixed by Obsidian to the level better than origin) you feel playing NV - given proper time Obsidian could complete the Legion area and quests as intended
If Todd has put as much effort into planets and general quality development as in fake 10/10 reviews (copy-paste from one-off "users" accounts and lame sony-pony excuses)... it COULD be a better game, as for reality - even if bethesda with microsoft money buy the last of metacritics conscience and dignity and fake out 100 score - anyone who try to swim in piss-puddle-deep game will soon realize its not an ocean
ps: does pc version still have script lines from morrowind, like fallout 4?
still can blow you mind with music and atmosphere, once you start playing - and it **** you in, level after level while music and Nali speech gives you ear-wormssimply golden classics
you can easily give it 1/10 as for Unreal sequel - it simply got nothing to do with original, including original atmosphere - which is the shame really...
on the other side - if to remove word Unreal 2 from the title - i had tons of slow-loading ( P3, asus 64 mb and lack of ram) fun.... would shame dialog writer and creator of some immature vibes, but praise gunplay and effort put into new design for each mission (hello from 2003 to Bethesda 2023 which put more effort into fake 10/10 reviews rather than into planet designs)
For THAT Atari should of ended up in court, since.... you can`t even call it a game - number of multiplayer maps.... and that`s it. It deceives people saying "single player game" there since there is NO single campaign, just the same mp-maps but with bots (stupid as hell too). so they bough copyrights, refurbished BF maps, added horrible sound and brain-dead bots and sold it to people, basically its frauding.
Sadly, after all those years, game as it was released still looks like early-access. Could Bannerlord be a great game? - without doubts, if developers cared to complete its development. As for now - the world feels empty and half cooked, NPCs - cringe.... basically, playing it, it is a constant train of thoughts - look at this - could be soo much better, look at that - was it left tobe finished later, wtf with these npcs faces - is it really past 202x game or 2002? what is good - reworked Conan`s music, battles are fun (although combat could be way better polished - you see that especially at Arena fights - its cringy as hell), and optimization sort of well as well - minding that graphics does look like of yearly 2000x.
Beware: there are 2 items called DE: original DE and DE "final cut". 1st was created with love and is one of the best games ever. it became popular from scratch, by word of mouth, because it was good. "final cut" however, was created by people who stole rights and profit from the creators of Disco Elysium, and the whole "final cut" was hugely PR-ed for money grab, (typical capitalist scum behavior) while: *The writing was downgraded and changed for worse, petty "polit-correctness" *The voice acting got destroyed and WAY worse than the original *Game that went smoothly before on PC now got bugged until it became unplayable - sometimes even texture would not load properly DO NOT BUY FINAL CUT - just get a copy of pre-bugged original DE and enjoy original game, that one was 10/10
9/10 instead of 10 - for those weird solutions like QTE fight with Rais or weirder one with Tahir. However, compared to so many modern games DL1 will be 12/10. Chrome Engine 6 looks great even in 23` - and much better than c-in DL2. Story line - many say its too simple, but I say its believable; main Evil ones - surprise, Techland predicted WHO of 20-22 spot on (WHO=GRA obviously, especially when it comes to anti-humanity in actions); Rais is super-charismatic bad guy, does evil, but speaks true wisdom to Crain, you hate Rais, but can`t deny his got a point. Jade and Rahim - simply amazing, grab not just your attention, but feelings as well... so does Brecken - wish there was more of him in game (i know he was originally one of player`s) Music - great and spot on in-game, 10/10 After DL1 will be impossible to play Dead Island or Mirror`s Edge. Gameplay is good, but first-time night run to the tower (story mission) is simply unforgettable, and if you didn`t jump of the bridge (from the very top) - you didn`t play DL1.
I believe, before C.Avellone left the project with all his materials according the contract, DL2 was supposed to be a quite a different game. After that quality of writing, dialogs and plot became generic, and made up from bits and pieces that sometimes doen`t make sense at all. it looks like that final release of DL2 was done by people who had zero good successful projects behind, and it`s sad, because i took DL2 announcement with lots of excitement since loved DL1. Of cause you can`t not to compare it to the original game: new engine for the sake of ports to consoles - cringe , it looses to Chrome 6 visually and brings flashbacks from Fallout 4 (with original rubber-skin npcs); characters - cringe again, here you miss Crane and Rais both, about Jade and Rahim - don`t even start.... instead you got Lawan - npc like Sticky in Fallout 3: you want to kill it and forget straight away, but will fail the quest, so got to endure... about broken plot and all initial promises undelivered mentioned above, may be it could be a different game, but what got instead - 4-5 average score here is fair - not a BAD game, but far behind of the DL from 2015 and its add-on.
What looks like a Fallout 4 mod, plays like F4 mod - is Fallout 4 mod. Mind you, there is a truly wonderful modding community, which mods Elder scrolls, Fallout series and other games - they are creative, talented people who create fantastic mods, so saying Starfield is a F4 mod in space you need to add: Bethesda mod. Made by company which should of stopped existing if not after F4, then after F76 for sure, since being a company once producing actually good games, by F76 timeline they turned into lazy, sloppy, simply unprofessional something that truly despise their fans. Fault is on players who being spit into face by Todd, wipe and praise spit taste and keep giving Bethesda their money. So, comparing Starfield to F4 or F76 - and anyone who played those, you WILL have flashbacks and feeling of deja vu - with outdated animation, brain-dead dialogs, textures basically coping F4, just with removed Fallout spirit, and many more - at least in Fallout series was Fallout lore and Universe, maimed by Beth, but thank you God created by better people; in Starfield you got none. Only BORING, UNIMAGINATIVE, GENERIC story and playthru. Oh, and if you thought in Elder Scrolls was bad UI - wait for this one. Sure, if modders will get hold of it, certain things will get improved by them in time, but no thanks to Bethesda, as usual. So do gaming world a favour - stop giving them money they didn`t deserve, then, and only then, Bethesda might stop selling you refurbished old crap for $130. Ps: they must pay well to bots and bots masters to leave here those 10/10 "reviews" - that part is laughable really. if you are actually a living person with own brain - have a read those and have a chuckle - same copy-and-paste generic sentences, half of which doesn`t even make sense, guess AI still no match for the humans:))
may be losings a bit to the original AvP2 main game, still carried on well enough with three interlocked story-lines (considering AvP2 IS a masterpiece, still is, even in 202x) and gave many more hours of fun in about 2003-5 to me
played it around 2003/5 on my pentium 3; experience that is hard to forget; looking back from 202x, can say: i wish there was a remake with modern graphics, although even now it would make you **** bricks playing in the dark:)), otherwise - the quality of how it was done, 3 stories connected into one - i wish younger games could come close to it, but they never did - avp 2010, colonial marines - sad trash compared to AvP2; the only quality game on pc 1st person was Alien: Isolation , but that was different gameplay style. as 1st person action in Aliens Universe AvP2 is still unbeaten
The game keeps surprising me... i had a good go with free two chapters before the release, and yet... made thru the peaceful time only on 4th full chapter restart. main condition - make the choices the way i would in real life... i pray i would. So, the variety of choices and conditions are amazing - this game earns the real RPG status fully and honestly. The writing is fantastic - book grade A+, not wanna-be-an-RPG-but -never-will grade a la fallout 4. The problems being brought up - the main reason to play this game. The universe narration is great, but never fool yourself - with all fantasy decor, it is about us and our world, it is about our life and suffering. Bless the game creators for having guts to make you face it the way it is, without fake, but too common "p-correctness". Music is awesome. all-in-all: the game is truly a jewel.
Fantastic! hearing its not RPG makes me wonder some people know what a Role -playing is? Disco is not just an rpg, its of of the best of all times, because here you not just build your character before you play, you grow into him thru the whole game, with literally everything you do or think. and while the story outside the main hero is trying to live its own life, and is a line in this sense, its amazing how many options the game gives you to live the very same episode of it. foe me GOTY 2019/20 PS: Beware of "final cut" version - that`s PR-ed bugged version of original game and not worth buying
