A standout party game for GameCube that has a stellar single player mode. Every headline character feels unique when either hitting or pitching, and the supporting cast also shines depending on how to use them The game has some great mechanics and level design. The chemistry between characters is a great addition and can make a difference when putting your team together. On top of that the different upgrades for players is fun and fits right into the Mario sports style. The different ballparks makes every stadium feel unique without being distracting, you actually want to work on your skills to take full advantage of the parks. The greatest pro is the single player with multiple hours of replay-ability especially if you play as every character. There is also no reusage of dialogue which makes every play through feel unique as you try to unlock new characters The only con would be some customizable options like team name, uniforms, and maybe the mini games, but those are not a distraction to the main game

A fun game to begin becomes dull after only a few hours. Clear lack of content especially compared to previous Mario sports installments. The pros include a good looking game, multiple characters and variety of the courts you can play on. The cons are the abysmal adventure mode and simplistic game play. For most characters, you only need one button to be competitive which is disappointing because every match could be a game of chess where every shot matters. The real disappointment is the value for this game, a more appropriate price point would be $30-$40
