The Last of Us Part II

User Scoreaqurban

Despite its haphazard structure and weak storytelling, The Last Of Us Part 2 offers an enjoyable experience that's well polished and meticulously built. I will say with confidence that its technically unmatched. There are so many details and nuances to the world they built that its hard to not recommend this game, even to hard core fans of the original game. Maybe if you close your eyes to somethings, you'd get the best experience playing a video game in a while.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is with no doubt a step in the right direction, yet it struggles to deliver a complete and quality enhanced experience, things like environments and objects seem to have been thrown in there with little to no polish, some run and gun sequences immediately break Immersion with clunky level design. Overall, the experience as a whole is worth the price of admission, and with the addition of the addictive and highly re-playable Raid Mode, the RE franchise awakens a new.

Alien: Isolation is a true representation of Ridley Scott's masterpiece in video game form, but there are more then a few instances where this beautiful piece of nostalgia struggles to find its own path into the canon of the Alien franchise, the fact that the storyline mirrors the original in so many aspects of its storytelling feels a bit odd but still manages to present those moments in a fun, more exciting way. Game play on the other hand is where the game truly stands out, smooth controls that mostly feel natural, the addition of mini-games that don't steer too far off the engaging and tense atmosphere and both Alien and android AI, when combined make for a unique survival horror experience.

Mikami returns once again with a memorable masterpiece being one of the most nerve-wrecking, mind-boggling and mildly horrific experiences of this generation, yet its the correct balance between survivor horror and fun that The Evil Within had accomplished easily over the course of the game with its unique twist on some of horror's most memorable landmarks. The heart-warming homages to Mikami's past glories and the cheesy voice acting of some of the characters can't go uncredited either. With that said, The Evil Within still falls short of what potential it had, delivering just enough redefining elements to the genre, rapidly making its mark with its ambiguous, over-the-top horror fun.

What makes this PS4 exclusive driver worth a try is its ability to adapt a solid scoring system into an entertaining plate for the hot and ready game content. Not a very large but fair roaster of vehicles, beautiful weather and environment effects, a subtle but generous social online feature that offers a fun collection of challenges for all club members often feels vague and left out, all these seem to blend in well despite a few hiccups at launch.

It might hesitate to dive into the storytelling which it lacks, yet Talion's adventure might be best told in his battles against the merciless horde of Uruks. Taking down captains or petting them against one another to achieve his goals, deceiving them to become under his command or simply ending their lives certainly extends the experience into an endless but not linear number of stories. Shadow of Mordor does not shy when it comes to delivering a bloody and merciless combat experience and differently does not hide its incredible Nemesis system and its infinite capabilities.

While Ninja Gaiden 3 maintains good quality action hack'n slash game mechanics, fairly ejoyable cenimatic action and design, it lacks the sense of progression its predecessors had, like the upgradable and variaty of weapons. Yet, the addictive button smash combos are a lot of fun to go around. Plot twists are predictive, AI is annoying to the point that suicidal actions towards you might occur from time to time and the level of rediculousness might not really surprise you as much as how fluid its gameplay is.

It's difficult to judge this game as it completely represents Capcom visions through different perspectives, but since they didn't dig deep into it, it makes it easier yet a bit painful to admit its far behind complete. it holds potential in many areas for instance: Gameplay is irrelevant to previous installments in the franchise, but its controls are addictive enough to keep your flame burning, Multiplayer is unique as it holds very interesting modes and competitive match-making. Cutting it short, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is worth a try, at least the blast of nostalgic familiarity around it will prove it worthy.

For one thing, Syndicate can greatly impress players for what its worth of unique art, other gameplay aspects such as gun play, graphics, narrative and character progression, feels just in place as it doesn't really deliver what we've hoped for since its announcement. Coop in the other hand, is a completely different and much more fun part of the whole package, with it being a return to the original Syndicate agents. Hopefully, EA would think like 2K, in "remaking" it instead of just this lacking reboot.

If Modern Warfare 3 reeks the smell of disappointment to you, then go play Battlefield, it might suit your selfish and disparate need for long runs, but if you're a gamer who thinks outside the box, Modern Warefare 3 is enhanced in so many different ways, casual gamers won't even notice. Graphics are improved but only that the experience won't feel any different, a lot more colorful and intact. Frame rate not noticed yet was obviously increased along the more responsive controls and character animation. Multiplayer takes you deeper into the most competitive online experience with the new set of weaponry and strategic tools and the new adaptation of the most addictive Zombie kill fest, the Survival mode, is nothing short of challenging and sheer fun.

Endlessly fierce, RAGE sticks to its motherly roots of id Soft, with classic, yet next gen innovative gunplay that makes your apocalyptic journey a gunsblazing adventure. id really took AI development to the next level where you actually feel and fear AI as a threat and not just a target to shot and walk past, the variety of items you can utilize to your survival or death can be critical and miscalculation of consumption can lead to certain mini-game encounter which in a way, tense and not so "this is annoying". Yet, id's master piece isn't something for all gamers, like the DOOM and QUAKE eras, there were those games and there were Mario and Zelda. it is in a away, for those who understand what bad ass id classic is all about.

For the haters, this game is made for those who are dedicated to the trilogy of Marcus Fenix and Delta team, considering the characters not being changed is something the fans would die for especially at the end of the trilogy, and if you don't like the story then you should know that Gears is not about story-telling, it's about ass kicking, and if it's to repetative for you, then it shouldn't be for those who love the series, because they would beat the first two games so many times they'd want something new, and that's what Gears 3 is offering for millions of fans out there. For the one considering buying this game, it's all that is a bad-ass Triple A, perfect third person shooter for your entertainment.

User Scoreaqurban
Jul 24, 2011
I especially loved this game for it's sense of novelty and sheer innovation, but the repetitive sequencing is regenerated like oxygen, you really can't stop breathing in, but at the same time you get used to it and think "i'll die someday and that's it" (what?) The things Rockstar promised to showcase through the game were not exactly what we've expected, except it was more than what we've actually imagined it to be, the graphics are purely next-gen and still above that ratio even though it's a bit representative to what Rockstar games have accomplished over the past few years. The games sandbox is quite appealing and it's resemblance to the 40's L.A. is what seems to have achieved Team-Bondi's goals for the game. The narrative is eerie along the unexpected twists and creative direction, how your choices affect your reputation as a detective, and how aggressive or persuasive you are is an amazing element that really brought the genre to life, and not forgetting the mind blowing motion-scan technology that really replicated the intensity, fear, anxiety or the suspicious looks of actors into what made L.A Noire a game that really redefined the detective game genre and blew our minds. Red Faction: Armageddon
10
User Scoreaqurban
Jul 23, 2011
Maybe it's narrowed down to a more linear level progression, story driven kind of game, instead of it's predecessor's successfully huge, GTA like open-world sandbox, but Red Faction: Armageddon is truly one of the most beautiful and mind blowing games that Geo-Mod 2.5 could ever produce, it truly pushed the destructible environment element to it's limits. The plot of the game sticks to the Red Faction franchise origins, even though the addition of alien specimen encounters are core to it's success or failure. The controls are pretty much similar to Guerrilla but with a more enhanced scheme. you'll encouter many Martians through your guns blazin' adventure, but what really makes it enjoyable is how many you'll end up killing in a gameplay through hell and out of it, and with the satisfying set of tools and weaponry, the eye-popping environment destruction and intensity through it all just makes it an addictive master piece you'll regret not experiencing. Overall, it's disappointing to most fans of the series, yet it's an amazing spin off towards the potential better development of the franchise.

Its out dated graphics and maneuvering system make Hunted a downer for most gamers who have anticipated its wannabe Gears-Dungeon Crawler enthusiasm, but its overall combination of cooperative gameplay and plot twists is quite what made it a unique addition to the genre, the characters are memorable, with their comical sense of humor that adds what sees like a favourable personality to each and every one of them, and the game's hack n' slash controls are what make the game worth the while even if it leans towards a specific type of audience.
