If you beat Malenia with a mimic tear or spells... no you didn't, go back and do that fight like an adult. Joking aside this game does what I thought to be nearly impossible - it makes a truly open world game with relatively minimal repetition, amazing level design, and consistently engaging content, all while not completely destroying the balancing (Unlike Breath of the Wild). Art direction is dope as always, enemies are goddamn hell-nightmares as always, and this has some insanely cool looking boss fights. BOTW 2 better do something crazy because it's boutta feel DRY AS **** after Elden Ring. The existance of this game should yeet BOTW from every "best of" list from here on out. I don't wanna hear about that game any more. Elden Ring does what Zeldon't. There's more variety in Limgrave than there is in the entirety of BOTW.

If your bar for quality has dropped so low to the point where this is some of the best writing in gaming, please seek help or play more narrative video games. For a game made for "Adults who like figuring things out for themselves" the mission path is extremely straight forward, and there isn't much thought required to get through the game. Just go with the blatantly obvious solutions or just cheese your way through it because the game breaks at the slightest hiccup. And aside from a single moment, nothing really feels clever. For a game with a timeloop mechanic, they do **** all to give you interesting puzzles or narrative beats to get around by using the timeloop. Most solutions basically play out with you choosing dialogue until you say the wrong thing. Then on the next loop you go back and say something different. And it's not like you really have much input either as the options are pretty rigid and several times the game would not let me say the one thing I very easily could have said to sway the conversation in my favor. It's so surface level and rigid that I can't fathom why anyone would think the dialogue or choices are interesting. I mean I literally got the "True" ending on my first run through and I didn't even feel like I did anything special to deserve it. Speaking of the ending, the big reveals in the last act are unbearably corny and play out like something you'd probably see in a random Gmod level. And despite coming out, what, almost a decade after the mod? It still looks a plays like a skyrim mod, though I'd argue the original mod's visuals almost fit better and Skyrim's facial animations are about on par with this 2021 release. I seriously can't believe this game was made in Unreal 4. It looks like it was made Unity, by people who don't understand lighting and post processing. I just don't understand what anyone sees in this game. The illusion of choice is paper thin, the ending is eye-roll worthy, and it's just kinda corny as a whole. The 4th wall breaking jokes are facebook level humor and having a "Karen" joke literally 2 minutes into the game does not set a great tone.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider9
Aug 5, 2021
God damn, another banger. What death of the outsider lacks in non-lethal routes or traditional "targets", it makes up for it with easily the best gameplay in the series. The new hook mines and void strike abilities allow you to hilariously throw your targets across the screen, and Billie's "Displace" is easily my favorite traversal ability in the franchise. Having the power to place a marker, do something, and then immediately teleport back to the placed marker offers so many new possibilities for efficient and brutal stealth sequences. I mean come on, you can place it inside another person and f*cking explode through them when you displace... how much more do I need to say about that. The visuals are superb just as they were in Dishonored 2, though I'd give this game the slight edge just because it's clear Arkane were able to iron out some of the kinks with the Void engine. Less flickering edges, better performance, and really fantastic lighting. As always, the levels are extremely well designed with tons of pathways and small details. The new addition of multiple "Contract" side missions also add some really worthwhile detours that explore every region of the map. Missions 2 and 3 (Follow the Ink and The Bank Job) are packed with soooo many side stories and extras. It's pretty crazy that it's possible for players to completely miss all of the Spector Club, which just speaks to how densely packed missions 2 and 3 are. When it comes to the story, I'd say your mileage will vary depending on what you are looking for. It's very lore heavy and mainly based around the Outsider himself, and less about Billie. However, I really did like what they did with the Outsider, and how they expanded upon his character. And by the way - shoutout to Robin Lord Taylor because he doesn't get nearly enough love as the outsider and I honestly prefer him. He's just got that grit and waver in his voice that I think fits this version of The Outsider extremely well. If it wasn't clear by this and all my other reviews, I love this franchise and I would definitely want to see more. But if this is truly the end for Dishonored, then what a f*ckin way to go out.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution9
Aug 5, 2021
You know what, I DID ask for this, because this was a blast. Felt nice to play a cyberpunk game that actually understood that the cyberpunk genre is not simply neon lights and sex dolls. Especially one where you have actual choices and consequences that could affect the outcome of your missions. Seriously, there's some 200 IQ moments to be had here, where the game definitely makes you feel smarter than you are. Or on the other hand, makes you feel as dumb as a brick, depending on how you handled the situation. Combat wise the game is actually pretty decent but the stealth definitely shines and is borderline amazing, though the occasional **** AI does hold it back a bit. Still, it's a damn fine game with an interesting story, great immersive sim elements, and a kickass soundtrack. It's just a shame that some **** degenerate decided that boss fights should be added to this. Every time those came up my mouse teetered on the .5 star button. Also since I'm complaining, whoever added **** mines that have a 3,000 foot detection radius and don't come with a disarming tutorial, f*ck you. 8.5/10 CDPR y'all are some mid smokers for turning CP2077 into "Neon GTA: Scuffed Edition". Eidos already gave you the blueprint in 2011 (Except for the ending, which of course is pretty much the only thing CDPR took after).

Prey8
Aug 5, 2021
Arkane comes through once again with another immersive sim, this time taking heavy inspiration from System Shock. And for the most part, it's a really great experience. Narratively, Prey follows some of the tried and true sci-fi tropes, but adds enough flair to keep things engaging from start to finish. I loved reading the interpersonal stories of the different crew members, and I was definitely stressing about my choices leading up to the end. Much like the opening, the ending itself is really fun and interesting... but it lacks polish. If rumors are to be believed, Arkane was reworking the endings and had to rush to meet deadlines so they weren't able to give it quite as much time as it needed, which is a bit of a shame. Still, it's a very interesting ending and I like it, but it could have been executed better. Combat wise Prey isn't amazing but it's definitely solid, and the enemies are really cool. Normally I think jumpscares are weak horror devices, but the way they're contextualized here makes them actually pretty fun. Having to worry about shapeshifting mimics makes the simple act of interacting with objects an interesting gameplay loop. And while they lose their luster by the end, they're still cool nonetheless and they make exploring new areas a really fun and tense experience. Speaking of exploration, I think it's probably the best aspect of the game, with a **** load of different ways to explore the station. Arkane's whole "Play your way" initiative is still going strong here, and most areas or objectives have a multitude of ways to reach them, usually depending on your character build or your attention to environmental detail. For me that's where the real charm of the gameplay comes in - A lot of the combat can be completely ignored, you can utilize typhon abilities to shapeshift, you can do things earlier in the game that make it easier later on, and much more. I found it particularly fun to search around for alternate paths into locked rooms, and the first time I came across a "Telepath" enemy was a great moment that I wont spoil here. The exploration is also helped by the fact that the space station itself is really well designed from a visual standpoint. With a nice mix of art deco and mechanical designs, and a distinct blue and Gold color palette. The more traditional "space station interior" areas of pipes and gray walls were a lot less interesting to me personally, but the beautiful design of places like the Lobby, the Crew Quarters and the Arboretum certainly make up for it. Prey also has really solid sound design, with creepy typhon noises and station ambience. Mick Gordon's soundtrack is fantastic, and I've said it before but this game confirms it; guitars slap for sci-fi things and you can't tell me otherwise. Voice acting is also great with Benedict Wong turning in an awesome performance as Alex... It's just a shame that the audio team weren't aware that the mics should have been a few inches farther away from the actor. Either that or they need a better audio editor for the dialogue. There are a few other issues I have here and there, with some sections overstaying their welcome and some so-so mechanics like the hacking (though to be fair, has hacking ever been good in a video game??) Overall though, this is a really fun experience and it's a damn shame that it didn't sell well. But I guess that's what happens when 80% of the gaming community is a bunch of f*ckheads who would rather just play the same 3 things every year, and then cry about not having any "new" or "different" games to play instead of expanding their horizons. Also probably because Bethesda made the boneheaded decision to name it after a game from 2006 that next to no one remembers. 4 outta 5 - would go so so fast with sailing ships again.

Dishonored 210
Aug 5, 2021
Banger **** all the way through. Are there problems? Definitely. With my main ones being certain features feeling underused and the non-lethal route for the final mission kinda just being a retread of The Brigmore Witches. But I don't give 10s for games that are perfect, because no game is perfect (except TLOU2). I give 10s to games that really stick with me, and games that excel in ways most others can only dream of. And Dishonored 2 does both of those things. Right off the bat, the level design is just f*cking incredible all around. These levels are so densely packed that I always found it engaging to explore every nook and cranny. I've already played this game before, and yet on this playthrough I was still finding new stuff, which I loved. It also helps that the world building is top tier and every building is worth exploring, and pretty much every note, journal or document is worth reading. I still can't believe how underappreciated the world of Dishonored is. Combat wise, this game is so brutal and satisfying if you want to go for high chaos. But I think sneaking around and playing non-lethal is just as enjoyable because of how many different routes there are, and how the game lets you mess with its systems. Hell, I even found out about new ways to complete missions this time around that I somehow missed the first time because there's just so many options. But what really surprised me this playthrough was actually the story. Now it's not amazing or anything, but I ended up appreciating it much more on a low chaos run. I liked seeing how Emily changes as the game progresses, realizing how terrible things really are outside the palace, and that she can't just sit idly by; she needs to be the one to take action. It's maybe a bit more subtle than I would have liked but I certainly appreciated it more this time around. Reshaping the world (and herself) to be better just feels much more satisfying narratively. In the end, this game is legendary. Arkane have massive wangs, and you a goofy if you don't like this.

Those Who Remain1
Aug 5, 2021
"Those Who Remain" is a 5 hour game that is about 5 hours too long. Incompetently designed from start to finish with gameplay mostly consisting of walking into a room, turning on a light, picking up notes devoid of subtlety, and then being confused for 3 minutes trying to figure out wtf the game wants you to do. The enemy design is laughable at best and pitiful at worst without a single moment of tension existing at any point during the experience. Most of the "enemies" just stand there doing nothing, looking like a free unity model with a low quality shader on them... because they are a free unity character model with a low quality shader on them. And whoever allowed those "Stealth" sections to see the light of day should be tried for a federal offense. How the f*ck are you gonna have a stealth section where you A. Can't crouch B. Can't out run/out maneuver the monster C. Have a piss poor checkpoint system, and D. are stuck in a tiny ass room with it, searching random f*cking drawers for dumbass notes that are required to progress. The storyline is immediately apparent from the first 20 seconds and the voice actor sounds like the devs woke him up at 4am, kicked him in the chest, handed him a mic and yelled "READ IT QUIETER DAMMIT!!" every time he tried to show emotion. Seriously, my 80 year old grandparents could show more emotional range. The game also spells out its story themes like you're the slowest chimpanzee who's still working through pre-k for the 20th year in a row. It's a combination of copy and pasted ideas from better games and movies, without a single original idea in sight. Silent Hill, Observer, Layers of Fear, Amnesia, The Shining, Stranger Things, Repulsion (though I doubt the devs have even seen that movie with how embarrassing their "homage" was) nothing is safe from this game's shameless imitations. It also looks like pure ****, and these devs need a quick lesson in Unity's post processing because apparently it's too f*cking hard for these jugheads to figure out. You know the color grading is terrible when the fire somehow looks grey. Even the music is annoying and they probably would have been better suited to just let ol' Kevin Macleod do the honors. Seriously, nothing escapes the mindnumbingly awful brush that these unimaginative paste eaters smear over every inch of the experience. How Wired Productions picked this up to publish is beyond me. I guess it gets a 1 for at least being functional when I turn it on.

The first part of this DLC is one of my favorite missions in all of Dishonored. But then the last part is easily my least favorite mission in all of dishonored. It's just a reused level from the base game and it's VERY plain in it's presentation. The second mission also feels significantly more empty than most dishonored missions and while it isn't bad, it certainly feels like a bit of an afterthought. Still, it's a damn fine DLC and I love Michael Madsen as Daud, so more Daud is always good. 7.5/10

Having skipped over the first game in favor of the recently released sequels, I was a bit worried how I would feel when I finally got back around to trying this. To be frank, I kinda thought it would feel a bit jank after 9 years and I was concerned I might not like it as much as a result. Well f*ck all that cuz this game holds up insanely well. Sure there are a few issues that the sequels iron out but as a whole this is a fantastic game. Super fun stealth gameplay with gruesome ways to execute foes, and hilariously dark non-lethal ways to deal with them as well. Arkane's environment/level design is always top tier and the Dishonored series has some insanely underappreciated lore and world building. Excellent stuff. This has to be one of the most astoundingly stupid stories I've come across in a game. The majority of the game is a piss poor rip off of Firewatch, but then it decides to take a sharp turn into WEIRDO CITY. It's an exercise in how not to handle sensitive subjects and the story and twists are just complete and utter BS. Cyberpunk 20775
Jan 10, 2021
This game has a fantastically designed city, the lighting is beautiful, and the music is fantastic. But once you check under the hood, things start to fall apart and it just feels like a facade for something it's not. It isn’t much of an RPG, as there are only 3 things in the entire game that effect the way the story plays out. The game world feels hollow and there is pretty much nothing to do in the world aside from shooting gang members over and over. The AI is less advanced than some ps2 era games and is laughable at best. And the story is so haphazardly constructed that I don't even know what story they were trying to tell. The game as a whole just feels like it's caught in this awkward middle ground, where it tries to do many different things, but doesn't do any of them particularly well aside from the visuals. It also isn't a damn cyberpunk game, as traditional cyberpunk themes are absent and you spend half of the game helping the cops or corpos. Soooo "Punk" CDPR. However while it is a disappointing game, It's not a bad one. It's kinda just "Okay". There are some fun missions and the shooting is pretty solid so it's certainly not the worst way to spend your time. And if you're looking for a game to just go in a shoot some things, while staring at a beautiful environment, then this is a solid option. But for people who want more than that, this game most certainly falls flat.

Have you guys played AssAss Creed before? Well that's pretty much exactly what this game is except it features samurai. Combat is really fun until you realize that is just revolves around parrying and mashing the triangle button. Seriously, it's laughably easy even on the hardest difficulty. Story is pretty weak, predictable, and boring. And since it's an open world game, it's filled with tons of trailing missions and bandits camps, in case you weren't already sick of them. Still, it's a gorgeous world with some nice diagetic exploration, and the combat is fun for a bit, just too shallow.

And after about 5 hours, you've pretty much seen all there is to see, as there's only 4 maps and 11 characters, which is just laughable for a game that has to compete with the likes of Overwatch. Remnant gets off to a rocky start with a bit of an uninspired first level, and it certainly has its fair share of other problems (performance issues, bugs, some lackluster enemies), but the majority of it is really fun despite that. The moment to moment gameplay is pretty engaging, It's got a good progression system, it has (mostly) fun bosses and a pretty good pace. Sea of Solitude5
Jul 5, 2019
I was really rooting for this game to be good, and I can say that it is easily one of the most beautiful games you can play this year. But the god awful writing and inconsistent voice acting really prevents this game from reaching its full potential. Most of the dialogue is very surface level, always stating things plainly and never being very subtle about it. Whatever a character is thinking or feeling, it gets said out loud and there are a ton of needless statements or expositional lines. It is completely devoid of any subtext, and as a result, the emotional impact the game is supposed to have, is significantly reduced. it’s still got a decent story at it's core, but thanks to the terrible writing, it's really poorly told. And when the storytelling fails, you need to have engaging gameplay to make up for it. Unfortunately, much of Sea of Solitude's gameplay is simply following a glowing orb and touching a few buttons. It’s a damn shame, because this concept is great and I can tell this was made by some really passionate folks, but it just desperately, desperately needs better writing.

Close to the Sun was one of the games I was really looking forward to this year, as It seemed like a really cool combination of Outlast and Bioshock. And while there is a lot of cool stuff here, the game is unfortunately held back by some technical issues, and a less than stellar story. It's hard to fully recommend because I think for some people, it may be great, and others it will just be okay. If you've played games like this before, then unfortunately, the story beats will be very predictable. If you haven't, then you likely won't see as much coming. There is also a really cool overarching concept that starts off great, but literally is never explained, so you kinda have no idea what's happening past the most basic level. Still, the game was an enjoyable experience and I think it's genuinely great for the first few hours. It’s really a shame that the last 3 hours were a let down in terms of story, but overall, I’d say it’s a pretty decent game that’s probably worth giving a deeper look if you’re interested, especially since it’s only $25

When Bioware eventually gets shut down by EA, they will have no one to blame but themselves. Mass Effect Andromeda ****, but at least that game knew it was an RPG, it was just a very bad one. Anthem wants to be destiny, but over the course of 6 whole years, these developers couldn’t seem to figure out any of what makes destiny enjoyable, and they sure as hell didn’t figure out how to make anthem enjoyable. This is a laughable excuse for a game. 6 YEARS and they couldn’t figure out how to design a mission. 6 Years and they couldn't’ come up with a better name for everything. 6 years and they couldn’t write a compelling story. 6 years and they couldn’t add sound effects to fort tarsus. 6 Years and they couldn’t design more than 1 style of weapon. 6 years of dev time, and the final mission has the exact same gameplay/mission design as the first few missions. While this game has a fantastic concept and a gorgeous world, there is absolutely no content. Everything from the beta is basically the same as the final game. There is no progression, every quest feels the same, and your only reward is gold which you can use to buy stuff that looks different. What Makes this worse is the fact that it seems the developers purposely made it like this. In their videos they talk about how they chose to have no upgrades, so that it's fair for all players. What? Ever heard of matchmaking? Ever heard of scaling weapon damage (like in Destiny PVP)? The game is great for the first 2 hours, but then there is literally nothing to do. The only other thing is to fight other people, but the combat feels like it was made for the N64. It's slow, imprecise, and janky as hell. It's an early access game that was priced as a full game. Not worth more than 20 dollars. And even then I'd say your still getting ripped off.

First and Foremost, this game is really fun. So if you're looking for a great game to play for a while, I'd recommend this. It certainly has some shortcomings (annoyingly stupid co-op system, a couple terrible missions and some technical issues) but it is certainly worth giving a shot if you are interested.

This is a pretty fun game that I put a lot of hours into. It's a really fun co-op experience and I did enjoy my time with it. However, there are several areas where it fails. For one, the campaign kinda ****. The story is bland and the characters are uninteresting, which is disappointing considering this is a game with very detailed lore. The campaign missions were also pretty bland and a lot of them very simply, touch a button, and kill enemies. Still, the core gameplay is fun, the different strikes and raids and side missions are fun with friends, and the multiplayer is pretty solid.

Little Nightmares8
Dec 11, 2017
This is a fun and creepy little experience that will last you no more than an evening to complete, so it's worth giving it a play though. The art style feels like something right out of a Tim Burton movie, and the world building is really good. The gameplay is relatively simple, but fun nonetheless (although there are some issues with controls). The story is pretty vague but it works well with the game, and overall, Little nightmares was a really enjoyable experience.

Star Wars Battlefront II4
Dec 11, 2017
This game is a monumental disappointment. The loot box progression system is possibly one of the most uneven and useless progression systems i've ever seen in a game, and the whole thing is built on making players objectively better than others. And the single player is a absolute mess, with a lame story that is nothing like the advertising would suggest, and missions that devolve in to simply killing a bunch of enemies and then moving on. The core multiplayer gameplay is solid though, and the maps are all beautiful and well made, but Star Wars fans deserve better.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus9

Fantastic all around. The gunplay is fast, fluid, and fun, and the narrative is brilliantly told, and surprisingly emotional. A few uninspired levels aside, this is one of the best games of the year.

Mass Effect: Andromeda4

This is just a mess all around. The writing is painfully uneven, with good moments being overshadowed by cringeworthy dialogue. The story is bland, and the characters are the most uninteresting group of **** ever. The gameplay is passable but not good, and the animations are as bad as everyone says. This is not the game fans deserved.

INSIDE10
Feb 23, 2017
Overall, Inside succeeds on every level. Even my problems with the game were easily overcome by the rest of it. The world building and design are some of the best I’ve ever seen, and the visual storytelling is perfectly executed. Inside is by far one of the best games of 2016 and it’s a game that shouldn’t be missed by anyone who enjoys games. 9.5/10

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End9
Feb 23, 2017
Uncharted 4 is indeed something really special. While I think people are getting carried away with how good they are proclaiming it to be, it cannot be denied; Uncharted 4 is a fantastic game. It certainly has it’s flaws, but it’s something that greatly surpassed my expectations, and it’s a game that anyone with a PS4 should own. It’s pretty much required to own even if you’re not a big fan of action games. You, like myself, may just be surprised at how much the game really has to offer. I was thinking of giving it an 8.5 for it’s core parts, but I have to say, the way Naughty Dog put it all together was near perfect, so Im gonna have to raise that score to a 9.

Titanfall 28
Feb 23, 2017
Titanfall 2 is fast, fluid, and action packed with a really fun campaign and lots of different multiplayer modes to choose from. There are some downsides to the campaign and a few other minor problems throughout, but It’s a great deal for the $60 cost and I would fully recommend supporting these developers so they are able to make another game, regardless of EA’s terrible marketing.

No Man's Sky7
Feb 23, 2017
Overall, No Man’s Sky was an experience that I’m glad I had. It was an extremely memorable experience in the beginning and it felt truly magical for the first couple hours. Throughout the rest of the game though, it really lost its touch. The lackluster story and gameplay really show as you progress and all the missing features added to the disappointment. Even though I was disappointed with the final outcome, I rate the game on what it is, not what it could have been. So for those who have dreamed of space exploration or just love exploring in general, this is still something I would recommend checking out if you get the chance. But for others who are looking for a more engaging story or characters, you might want to skip it.

Oxenfree is a fantastic game that I would definitely recommend picking up if you are interested. The plot and themes are solid, but the meaningful character interactions and fantastic dialogue system help push the game to a new level… Minor flaws aside. After my 5 hour journey was complete, It felt like everything had been a real adventure, and one that I’m happy I was able to have.

Gone Home9
Apr 10, 2016
Gone Home is landmark game. A big step in the realm of interactive storytelling. This game completely captivates you if you let it. There's no real gameplay other than picking things up and walking around the house. The basic premise is that a girl comes home to find her house empty. She must explore the house to find out where everyone went. The atmosphere in this game is absolutely amazing. In the game, your character, Katie, hasn't been to this new house yet because she was out on a trip while her family moved in. This game really uses that and it makes you really feel like you are walking in on a strange old house for the first time. You feel the house creak as you walk through the dark halls. The noises of faint footsteps create an amazingly eerie atmosphere that makes you want to turn on all the lights as if you were actually exploring a dark house. It has a surprisingly haunting atmosphere that I wasn't expecting from this game but I absolutely loved it. I caught myself dropping an item to look around a corner to see if there was someone there several times. The creaks and cracks of the old house make it feel so much more real and life like. I Also felt the story was surprisingly captivating and emotional considering that if this were written as teen fiction, I wouldn't have read it. The fact that the story was told in a house that felt so real made it even more emotional. I felt connected to the game and it really felt like I was learning about someone else's life through the belongings left in their abandoned home. The struggles of the teenage life may seem kind of boring and a bit cliche, but this game made them feel so real. There was something about the way the story was presented that made me feel a lot more emotionally attached to it. It had so many small details that made this game seem so real, from recorded VHS tapes of The X-Files, to movie tickets to see Pulp Fiction, to the homework assignments on desks, this game felt alive. The best thing about the story is that the more you explore, the more you learn and the more pieces of the puzzle fit together in the end. While the main story is about your younger sister, there are several other stories about the other family member that can be discovered. Some of which are kind of dark (which I like). Some of these stories are really up to your interpretation based on the clues you've found around the house. In the end Gone Home is a hauntingly beautiful game that really feels alive. This game wont be for everyone (as evident by the negative reviews) but for fans of great interactive story telling, this game is a must.

TIMEframe6
Feb 24, 2016
This game was very unique. But unfortunately, the main function of the game seems to be the thing that was wrong with it. In TIMEframe, you walk around and find ancient structures and relics from a lost world. And SPOILER ALERT, every ten minutes, the meteor that destroyed the society comes and you restart from the first temple. While this is certainly unique, its just feels a bit unnecessary. Throughout your journey, you uncover clues about the ancient society and "The Nomad". Through the stories and clues, you can piece together that the society believes their ancient being/god is going to do something, and that their world may be coming to an end. You also can infer that "The Nomad" is a meteor coming to destroy their world. The way these clues are presented to you; through ancient artifacts and written passages by ancient scribes and scholars of the civilization, is really good. It helps you build a good sense of what this ancient world was like and how they acted towards the events of the unknown. The soundtrack was excellent and it really helped carry the mood. All in all the atmosphere was great and I really did enjoy the calming, yet mysterious and slightly chilling atmosphere I felt in this game. Unfortunately, the other parts of the game REALLY took away from this. This was a walker simulator to the point where it was too much of a walking simulator. All the things to discover were spread out way too far and it was nothing but walking through an open area in between each place. That was made even worse by the main premise of the game. The meteor crashing every 10 minutes was really just bothersome while playing. Especially when you could only discover about 3 places before you had to restart from the beginning. This grew very tiresome and made me start to lose interest. I also would have loved to explore some of the places a bit more but I didn't have time too because I only had 10 minutes to work. I also felt rushed to get through it, because I didn't want to spend forever starting from the beginning again. The meteor crashing also took away from some of the mystery of the game. Depending on what artifacts you found first, you may not have put it together that "The Nomad" was a meteor yet. But when it crashes after 10 minutes, you are pretty certain what "The Nomad" is. I feel the game should have had the meteor crash only once, at the end of the game. That way you could learn and infer things about the society throughout the game, and then see the true end of the society unfold with the meteor crashing down to end the game. This would have given you an answer, while still not blatantly telling you what happened so early on in the game. The theme and atmosphere in the game was fantastic, and I really enjoyed this. I also really enjoyed uncovering a lost society and I think the artifacts and written passages were very well done. But the super slow pacing and the bothersome mechanic kinda ruined it a little for me. Its still worth checking out if you want something different and don't mind the $8 price tag. 5.5/10

Home is Where One Starts...8
Nov 26, 2015
This was a very beautiful atmospheric experience. It had a really calm but equally chilling feel to the game and I really enjoyed it. The story plays out through the objects that you can pick up and examine. The game leaves it up to you to put all of the parts of the story together and it can really give you some thoughts to ponder after playing. One of the best parts IMO is that there are other parts of the story you can find if you look around hard enough. There are even multiple secret endings to the game. DISCLAIMER- You get out of the game what you put in. If you go in expecting an intense and exciting story and not a beautiful and artistic experience, then it wont be for you. I enjoyed this game very much and I thought it was very beautiful while still having a chilling feel to it. When you play it, just do one thing for me, make sure you take a second to look out and enjoy the view.
