Lunar 2: Eternal Blue8
Jun 21, 2015
Not quite the epic that SSSC originally delivered but Eternal Blue Complete definitely rode on the biggest nostalgia wave ever... And it was awesome !!! Colorful and engaging as the original. A side note to whoever may whine that the characters are too similar to the original... THAT'S WHAT THEY MEANT TO DO !!! A recurring even in history (kind of like in Xenogears, where Kim and Fei are reincarnations of Abel). I just couldn't handle that one specific painfully repetitive dungeon song that was also on SSSC. Might I add that the "Complete" box-set is probably the most thorough and awesome ever released !!!

Lunar: Silver Star Story10

Grand epic story and truly memorable characters... Absolutely timeless !!! Note to the little "emo" teeny-bopping A.D.D. weenie gamers in 2015 : THIS IS WHAT AN RPG IS !!! Never mind trying to bash the outdated graphics and sound; It's a port of a port and was originally released while all of you were still swimming in your fathers' balls.

Resident Evil 4 (2005)7
Jun 21, 2015
Don't get me wrong, this game is outstanding with its top-notch graphics and sound.. But the problem is: IT'S NOT RESIDENT EVIL !!! The whole "preserving health and ammunition" which gave the previous games a suspenseful and horrific aspect is totally gone!! I used to love and try to figure out how I was going to get out of situations such as being cornered by 4 zombies with only 2 shotgun shells remaining... In RE4 you will have too much ammo... Enough to waste on Ashley's annoying face !!!

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King7
Jun 21, 2015
Giant luscious world to roam around in. Memorable locations to visit. Lovable character artwork by Akira Toriyama... Painfully slow story development... Every fight nearly K.O.s your entire party, takes 10 minutes to win and then requires a trip all the way back into town to heal at the inn and save at the church... heal at the inn, save at the church... heal at the inn... There should have been vehicles available (and early on too). Dragons and Pegasi to fly around on. Horses and lions and/or other creatures to tame, train, level-up and ride on. Build vehicles, piece by piece from gathered material in your alchemy pot !!! ANYTHING !!!

Charming story, great characters and vibrant cities and locations !! Everything is so colorful and full of life. The weapons building system is fun and diversified, and it can make you really over-powered if you grind it out. It does tend to be a little repetitive, but nothing like the first installment.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 39
Jun 21, 2015
Intriguing calendar based story, fantastic soundtrack and the satisfaction of being able to play the game two completely different ways... You can either grind in Tartarus (basically the twilight zone) every night to gather, fuse and level-up personas or you can spend time with your social links and strengthen your personas' potential and allow for insane fusible combinations. Incredibly unorthodox RPG (to those who are new to the SMT series). I put 110 hours into it !!

Gorgeous world, fantastic story and superbly innovative "painting" game play. Running around the vast world completing the main story and side-quests, leaping from massive cliffs and sky-high towers, picking fights with the "most wanted" demons, upgrading your spells and unleashing insane combos... It's all too satisfying !!! This game is definitely in my top 5 PS2 games of all time !!!... It baffles me how nobody ever mentions this gem. (COD3 and FFXII definitely hogged the 2006 spotlight)

Fantastic character development. Deep and thought provoking story. Amazing use of camera angles. Squaresoft baked a very unique RPG "recipe" for this title. Think 'mature-Kung-Fu-anime-style- action-RPG with all the usual Side-quests and what not Although the story is delivered rather slowly, I find it gives you more time to be drawn in to the abundance of details and the cinematography. ONLY DIE-HARD RPG FANS will enjoy this tale that was ahead of its time.
