Very good game. Character acting is not really best of the best, but the rest of the game gives you the known Onimusha vibes.

The game's concept featuring the octopus, the graphics, and the mechanics within the 2.5D platformer genre are outstanding. However, the game suffers from occasional micro-stuttering, and it's far too short for my taste.

Out of Sight
8
User ScoreTheWeazle
May 28, 2025
If Little Nightmares comes to mind at first glance, you're not alone. Out of Sight feels like a quiet relative, eerie atmosphere, childlike perspective, oversized rooms, strange noises. But it carves out its own path and it's surprisingly clever. You play as Sophie, a blind girl navigating a creepy house. Always by her side, her teddy bear. You can place him on certain spots and then see the scene from his eyes in third person, while still controlling Sophie. That way, you discover hidden paths, solve puzzles, and get a better overview of the environment. Sounds like a gimmick at first, but it quickly becomes a core mechanic, smart, effective and sometimes genuinely tense. The atmosphere is spot on, not loud, not full of cheap jump scares, but quietly unsettling. Everything feels huge, cold, and unfamiliar, just like it might to a child. The story, told with not many words, sticks with you. There's a clear emotional core that makes this more than just another neat little puzzle platformer. Sure, it's not a huge game, the playtime is fairly short, but honestly, it fits. It tells what it wants to tell, and then it's done. No padding, no filler. That is like a short, intense dream, eerie, sad, and beautiful. If you’re into atmospheric puzzle games with an unusual twist, you should definitely join Sophie and her teddy on this journey.

Cash Cleaner Simulator

User ScoreTheWeazle
May 15, 2025
CashCleaner Simulator – 9/10: Dirty Money, Dirty Fun This game is gloriously grimy, the physics surprisingly spot-on, and the gameplay hits that sweet spot between absurd humor, tinkering, and digital chaos. You handle stacks of cash, build your own setup, and optimize your workflow – all wrapped up in a seriously quirky vibe. Sounds crazy? It is. And that’s exactly what makes it so damn entertaining. But a few “game rules” need loosening up: 1. Slow-mo heavy lifting: The moment you grab something heavy, your character basically crawls backwards. Yeah, realism is cool and all – but this is a game. It needs to feel smoother and less like a physics lab experiment. 2. Setup building and containers: Placing furniture and gear right now is a bit fiddly. A snap-to-grid system (snapping) would be a total game changer – way more intuitive, faster, and just easier on the nerves. Plus, bags or boxes where you stash the cash slide around way too easily if you bump into them, which causes bills to spill out instead of landing neatly inside. That definitely needs fixing for smoother handling. 3. Physics chaos overload: Knock a table and boom – everything’s on the floor. Bags fly off, cash scatters like confetti. At first it’s funny, but after a while it just gets annoying. Less slapstick, more control would be golden here. 4. More content, please! The dev absolutely needs to keep this ball rolling. DLCs, new gear, new rooms, new modes – this game’s got serious potential. And honestly, a co-op mode? PvP? Online dirty money battles? That’d be absolutely brilliant.

Bionic Bay
9
User ScoreTheWeazle
Apr 20, 2025
Bionic Bay is an absolute standout in the pixel-art platformer genre. The world is dark and biomechanical, and while the story remains fairly vague, it pulls you in and keeps you going. You play as a scientist who gets stranded in this strange world due to a failed experiment. The game thrives on its clever mechanics: Swap, Time Freeze, Power Fist, and Vector Impulse Control – everything feels fresh and allows you to interact with the environment in creative ways. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it still offers a lot of innovative, fun gameplay. There are no easy solutions, you have to think and combine your abilities to progress. The controls are precise, the physics are a lot of fun, and the level design forces you to think smart without ever feeling frustrating. Everything fits together perfectly: timing, reactions, and skill are required, but it always feels fair. [Spoiler Alert: The ending with the dog and the giant hand] – It's surreal and leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Totally confusing, but it fits perfectly with the overall mind-trip vibe of the game. Anyone who was expecting this won't be disappointed by the final scene. All in all, Bionic Bay is a must-play for anyone who enjoys atmospheric, deep platformers with clever gameplay. Fans of Inside, Celeste, or The Swapper should definitely pick it up.

South of Midnight
8
User ScoreTheWeazle
Apr 12, 2025
South of Midnight impresses first and foremost with its unique visuals, reminiscent of stop-motion animation. The handcrafted look and creative character design make the game feel like an interactive piece of art that immediately captivates the player. The characters are lively and richly detailed, giving the game a distinctive charm. There are, however, some minor technical shortcomings. A few scenes suffer from overexposure, which affects visual clarity, and the gameplay occasionally stumbles due to delayed input responses that disrupt the flow. The soundtrack, however, is outstanding. The music is masterfully curated and enhances the atmosphere perfectly. It absolutely deserves a standalone release and ranks among the best musical scores ever featured in a video game.Overall, South of Midnight is a visually bold, stylistically brilliant game with a soul – exactly the kind of experience that certain overwhelmed keyboard critics clearly neither understand nor deserve. Anyone giving this title less than a 7 out of 10 must either have tomatoes on their eyes or regularly mistake their Steam library for a fast-food menu. Such “reviews” are about as insightful as a restaurant critique from someone who thinks ketchup counts as a spice. Let’s not pretend to have something meaningful to say about South of Midnight if your first instinct is to panic-press Alt+F4 whenever something doesn’t flash, explode, or hand you XP on a silver platter. This game isn’t some soulless product – it’s a statement. And if you can’t see that, maybe stick to reviewing toaster manuals. The artistic risk is considerably lower there.

Very very good graphics and animations, nice gameplay and an engaging story, but far too drawn out and also pretty littered with character boosting mini-challenges like nursery rhymes, weapon boosting collectables like lunchboxes. Just unnecessary stuff that could have just been automatically included in the story as a reward for completing chapters or something. A lot of developers still need to learn how to make an absolutely fluid story game in which you're not distracted by these things, but simply pick them up as you play through the story. From that point of view, the game is an 8.5/10 at best.

The game is a platformer of the very highest quality in terms of the overall game idea, an absolute 10 out of 10. In my opinion, they took inspiration from Legend of Zelda and It Takes Two, and then gave the whole thing their own touch. I hope for a second part, I have nothing to criticize about this game, it's a bomb.

An absolutely outstanding P.O.P- Metroidvania with a good story, very cool gameplay, challenging quests and jump n' run puzzles, for which you sometimes also have to have a lot of knack while using the abilities which the main character gets from the Simurgh's feathers. For me this P.O.P is the best part of the entire series.
