While I thoroughly enjoyed NSMBW, I felt as though it doesn't translate as well in the modern day. For the most part, this game felt uninspired as it tends to take away from older games in the 2-D Mario franchise. this game is very easy until the last few worlds, and it doesn't get very difficult as far as I played. I don't think it's a good Mario Title to introduce someone to the series, except maybe for the multiplayer aspect. witch, for the most part, is this games only different quality compared to a game like the classic Super Mario games. While those are classics, this felt more like a desperate attempt to make

Sly Cooper was a fun interesting game at first with solid gameplay and great graphics for an old Ps2 Game. The further the game went, however, the more broken and flawed the game's mechanics seemed to get, even with all the bonus abilities I had picked up by doing Collect-a-thon style missions in certain levels of the game, it was still a near impossible trek in the final stages feeling more and more of a difficulty spike. leading to an enhanced hissy fit of rage from me. It wasn't a great experience, but a good title nonetheless

Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When it's Dark Outside

A short point and click adventure game that bores you more with its mindless backtracking until you can collect the things to get to the end, than the charm its aesthetic will ever give you. the narrative is cute and charming though it's repetitiveness killed any fun I actually had with the game. Not worth much, but it will be good for kids, and lovers of cute things you wish to bring into the gaming world. Pajama Sam is a kids version of the 90's attitude that Sonic had but in a much more "written by parents" sort of feel. not very relatable... Good, but not great..

Doki Doki Literature Club!

Doki Doki Literature Club is a game that will further the horror genre in ways never before imagined. This game starts off cute enough luring you into a false sense of "Dating sim" where you begin to fall for every trick this game lays before you because they're so subtle that you don't even realize they're traps until far later in the game. The beginning can get a little monotonous as it drolls on and on. it's a few hours of gameplay similar to the barrier of entry you'd find in any good RPG. and let me tell you now it's well worth the wait because what lies after that first psychological scare... it a whole new world of horror. I won't say much more because it's an experience you really should experience it for yourself. Just know if you're easily susceptible to dark themes, you may want to consider playing with a friend. It truly is a game worth your time, and the fact that it's free makes it easy to justify the few things wrong with the game.

Gunstar Heroes was the first video game I remember playing. Ever. It was a fun trip down memory lane to relive my kindergarten days, but I really wanted to give it an official review for it so here it is! Gunstar Heroes is a beautiful game, with an awesome art style, and an amazing OST... God, the soundtrack is just unbelievable.. a real sleeper soundtrack that should be there with Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, and Mega Man. The only real negatives this game truly have lies in its difficulty, and it's length. This Genesis arcade-like action game isn't easy. There's no real tutorial but with 3 buttons it's pretty easy to get a grip on the controls. There's a ton of enemies and they all have one goal. Kill you. The action in this title is crazy and unending, but it does make the game a lot of fun. The only other problem I have is with the length of the title. There are only like 8 levels in this game, and some of them aren't even a normal platforming level's length. Some levels have clear-cut checkpoints where nothing is happening, or right before a boss; other levels have no checkpoints at all and if you die you have to do it all over again. it gets aggravating. The weapon combos are all unique and interesting, and fun to use. Overall this game is fun, challenging, and a worthwhile investment of your time. Gunstar Heroes gets an 8 out of 10

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls

Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls is the definitive version of the original titles. It makes everything look, sound, and feel better than the original NES version of the game. However, this version doesn't do much to fix the issues this game has had for 30 years. These are very grind heavy titles that **** a lot of the fun out of the game by making you fight wave after wave after wave after wave... You get it. this game is well worth the time, just know you're going to go a little insane with the little fights in between dungeons and story progression. The cutscenes are a cool addition that gives the game a bit more life, though I still for the life of me can't get over the fact that the airship is just a plot device to split you off from certain sections of the world... I really wish this game had more convenience and rewarding with things like the airship. Still a good game

When I first started playing Resident Evil 4 for the first time since the game first came out in 2005, I was terrified that the "Stop and Shoot" Mechanics would ruin my experience of the title. However, the exact opposite effect actually ended up happening during my playthrough of Capcom's horror masterpiece. This game is everything and it's everything well done. The Action is Awesome, the puzzles are amazing, and the game is scary. The Mechanics Before mentioned forcing you to stand still while shooting makes every shot matter. As I've said before in my other reviews, Horror games succeed when they strip you, the player, of your power. It was incredible to me how much of this game I had remembered from my original teenage playthrough of this game. every corner I turned I felt a sense of flashback remembering what was to come. Res 4 throws tons of extra content at you making it well worth your time, effort, and money. I couldn't recommend this game enough to any fan of any style of game. Ashly can get a bit annoying at times, but that can be forgiven with the amount of fun you'll have playing the game. I originally believed that no game is perfect and deserving of a perfect score, however: if I believe that way, a Score of 9 becomes the Perfect Score. Therefore I'm giving Resident Evil 4 my first Perfect Score. 10/10 -Das Dood Follow my Live Reviews on Twitch at ****/Das_Dood

While I understand the appeal for this game behind its rabid fan base. My experience can be summed up with being incredibly bored, watching still images on a shoddy game camera expecting to be given a cheap jump scare at any moment. While it's not a game for me I have to appreciate what it does right. True Horror. FNaF strips you of all power and confines you to a security office chair. Forced to watch those cameras to find the right time to turn on lights and shut doors. You're only given a limited amount of power and the lack of options puts you on edge. It's really well crafted... but that doesn't make a good game. It's a great concept that fails as an actual video game because once you're over that initial fear of the Jump Scares. It's just a boring experience that makes me long for an actual gaming experience. Five Nights at Freddy's Gets a 5/10 -Das Dood Follow my Live Reviews on Twitch at ****/Das_Dood

The Sexy Brutale, a game I was playing off my live review Streams, captivated me with its stealth, mystery styled gameplay, beautiful jazz-themed soundtrack, and a truly interesting cast of characters. It's a game that has a certain mystique I haven't experienced since the days of the Myst Series. Introduced to this game by the Extra Credits Team on YouTube as the "Groundhog's Day of Murder" I was instantly interested, and I have to say I'll definitely take their recommendations with great consideration from now on. This game was a masterpiece of how a stealthy mystery game should be made. it wasn't unfair at any point in time, or that punishing in moments of peril. This game had everything and allowed you to focus on solving the series of murders, rather than distracting you with how to avoid conflicts. It's a breath of fresh air and I can't wait to see Tequllia Works and Cavalier Games Studio's next project. The Sexy Brutale gets a 8/10 -Das Dood Follow my Live Reviews on Twitch at ****/Das_Dood

Shining Force; a game created to fight against the tactics style of games coming to the NES, fails to tell a story that matches the quality of the likes of Fire Emblem. The Characters are mostly forgettable basic tropes, and the battles are a dull experience with a lack of much innovation or interesting scenarios. The best part of this game comes with its music, sound, and visual effects, and pixel graphics, but the lack of a permadeath option makes the game more like a cake walk than a game where every move matters. It’s unfortunate that the best things in this game are hidden away as secrets for you to find on subsequent playthroughs of the game, which no one will have due to the lack of fun and desire to complete this game they will surely experience. Undertale is a game I think everyone should experience in their lifetime. It’s a story that drags you in and puts you through a rollercoaster of emotions if you’ll allow it to. And if not you’ll find this game to be mostly overhyped. Everything about this game is truly fantastic. its characters, Lore, Story, Music, and it’s Battle Mechanics are all top notch. This game truly is a masterpiece through the first two of the three main endings. The third, however, is much like the secrets you hide in your closet. It’s there but you hope no one goes to see what’s inside. If not for this third main ending the game would truly be perfect. Games are meant to be fun, and designing the route to this last ending to be as unfun as possible to prove a point is not good game design in my most honest opinion. All in all, Undertale is one of my favorite games of all time. Just remember to Save the animals, and leave it at that. Undertale gets a 9/10 -Das_Dood Follow My Reviews Live @ ****/Das_Dood

I remember playing Second Sight in my teenage years, and I looked back on it fondly. However sometimes Nostalgia just straight lies to you. There’s next to no redeeming factors in this title made by Free Radical, the creators of the TimeSplitters Trilogy. Despite my efforts to like this game, I found myself hating the shoddy camera controls, the lack of fun gameplay, and the over-reliance on the psychic abilities you gain throughout the game. With a plot as convoluted as B-rated spy movie; it was really hard to follow or even give a damn about what was being presented in front of me. In the end, I learned that sometimes you should just leave Nostalgia alone. Second Sight gets a 5 / 10 -Das_Dood Follow My Reviews Live @ ****/Das_Dood

Axiom Verge delivers on the Metroidvania style of games in ways fans of the genre have been craving for a long, long time. It beautifully does everything you’d expect from it and advances on its mechanics in ways that would bring praise from any gamer who gives this game a chance. Weaving a great tale of mystery and revolution from a tyrant who has all but destroyed a race of otherworldly beings known as Rusaki: Axiom Verge will keep you guessing to the very end (Or at least it did me). This game is an Indie title that needs to be on everyone’s must play list. It’s textures and sprites aren't the best looking, but are by no means jarring. It plays well for a game of its genre and innovates on the basic formula in ways that will satisfy anyone. Axiom Verge isn’t just a game inspired by epic titles like Super Metroid, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night but instead advances on its fundamental mechanics to bring you a new style of game in a genre nearly forgotten, starting the renaissance of the Metroidvania Genre. And to think this game was fully created by one person. My hat’s off to you Thomas Happ. Axiom Verge get’s a 9/10 -Das_Dood Follow My Reviews Live @ ****/Das_Dood
